Sculpey Shape-It, Bake-it, Wear-It Party with Tryazon

I received a Sculpey party kit at no cost as part of the Tryazon program.

All the gals in my family, well we like to get a little crafty. I’m not saying I’m Martha Stewart, not even close. I just like to get creative. Particularly I like to get creative with something functional or fun. Like jewelry, for instance.

We had a chance to host a Sculpey Shape-it-Bake-it-Wear-it Party with Tryazon. My nieces, future sister-in-law, and I couldn’t wait to give it a try. My brother and my dad enjoyed watching the kids design and create.

I’ve used Sculpey products in the past for other craft projects. I can honesty say I’ve never tried making jewelry with it before. We had a pretty pearlized white sculpey clay and the pearlized aqua color you see in the pics.

We received everything we needed to each create a bracelet with 3 charms each thanks to Tryazon.

It was fun to see the interesting designs that each person came up with. Everyone had different design ideas truly making each piece unique. The kit came with fun decals that let us add designs to the charms easily. After we’re done creating all we had to do was bake them and attach them to the bracelets!

This was my finished bracelet. I went pretty basic with mine. I’m more minimalistic when it comes to my jewelry. My daughter on the other hand loved adding embellishments and her own clay creations to her charms.

I Put Glitter on My Tires

When it comes to vehicles, I tend to be a minimalist. I’m not into the bright colors, add-ons, fancy lights, etc. If I were to pay for any vehicles add-ons it might be tinted windows. BUT that’s not to say I don’t like to add little touches to make my vehicle my own.

A while back I saw posts about a temporary spray you could put on your tires to make it glittery. I thought, that could be fun right? Black Magic tire color is the temporary touch I like without the commitment. I had bought some but had been hesitant to use it. Actually when I bought it, it was a pourable that came with a sponge to apply it. I can’t decide if I like it or not. It’s not as glittery as I thought it would be but I’m kinda glad about that because I’m not a super flashy person.

Yea it’s fun but it also gives me the opportunity do a good check of my tires. Proper tire maintenance can add life to your tires. That includes tire rotation. After all, even with glitter on them they won’t look any better if they’re flat.

My Fall Cleaning Check Off List

Fall cleaning is big for me. It really started when my older boys started school. I started realizing that we always get sick after the kids go back to school. Also clearing out space for the holidays and knowing my impending seasonal depression was on the horizon. I have a list of things that are ALWAYS done during my fall cleaning. I’ve added more things over the years

My ALWAYS do Fall Cleaning List

Clean door hands, faucets, cupboard handles, etc and spray with lysol disinfecting spray
Scrub carpets
Clean grout
Wipe down kitchen cupboards
Sort through kids’ toys. Clean, throw out broken toys, donate toys that can be donated.
Wipe down walls
Clean out kitchen cupboards. Throw out expired items.
Clear shelves in other parts of the house. Wipe them down and rearrange items for a fresh look.
Take down curtains and wash them
Clean out stove
Clean mattresses
Sort through clothes. Donate items that no longer fit. Take inventory of seasonal clothing for next season to see what is needed.
Clean out garage
Check vehicle fluid while in the garage including check the oil and battery leads.

Fall Cleaning As Needed

These things are done several times throughout the year but I use this time to make sure these items are taken care of

wash all bed sheets and pillows
wash all blankets and throws throughout the house
wash coats
Wipe screens on tvs and other electronics
wash stuffed animals
clean windows
sweep porch
Clean interior of vehicles

It sounds like a lot of work, and it is BUT I always feel so much better when it’s done. Reducing clutter helps me with my seasonal depression. Paying close attention to frequently touched surfaces helps reduce some of the germs. Thorough cleaning helps reduce dust that can add to seasonal allergies.
