My Brother’s Book “Night of the Dancing Puppets” Made It On a 100 List On Amazon

This post does contain amazon affiliate links.  Regardless I only post legitimate links to trusted sites.

I few months ago I told you that my brother had written his first book.  It’s available in both paperback and ebook format.  Well his book, “Night of the Dancing Puppets” has made it to the Top 100 paid ebooks on Amazon in the Humor and Short Story Category.  His book is number 67 right now!  It had actually sold out at one point in the print version.

You can find the listing on Amazon for “Night of the Dancing Puppets” by Donny Podrasky here:

Don’t forget to leave your review on Amazon for him if you decide to give it a read.  As I said, this is my brother’s first book and he’s already working on a 2nd one.  The amazon listing says it’s 94 pages but I own the paperback copy and it’s actually 200+ pages. Not sure why Amazon has it listed as 94.

Auto Tex Pink Plus Wiper Blades Breast Cancer Foundation Inc

I know it’s not October but as many of you realize, breast cancer doesn’t just last for a month.  I thought I’d make this post up over some pink wiper blades.  Yep you heard me, pink wiper blades.  I had a set for my car and I got so many compliments on them.  I also got tons of “Where did you get those at?! I didn’t even know they made pink wiper blades!” Well yes they do and not only do they look cool but when you purchase them a donation is made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Society of Canada.  If that’s not enough to make you buy them, they’re also super affordable!  They are Auto Tex Pink Plus Universal wiper blades but there are also flex wipers and a few other models.

Yes they are cool, yes they are good wiper blades, no there’s no reason not to buy them lol! FYI this is not a sponsored post.  I just had so many questions about these that I decided to go ahead and post about them!

Coupons Aren’t Just For the Grocery Store

This post is a sponsored post written by me for Verified Codes.  Any opinions expressed are my own.

When you think of couponing, what comes to mind?  Do you think of those “extreme couponers” do you think of getting the inserts in your Sunday paper and cutting out a few that you think you’ll use? What about finding sales a deals?  Do you rely on searching and comparing at a few sites?  Maybe you sign up for email newsletters your favorite stores?

I’ve gotten into the habit of using coupons online in addition to my cash back sites. I strongly dislike paying full price for anything.  You might think a sale is enough but sometimes you can grab a coupon code you can use on top of the sale to save even more money.  Coupons for free shipping, coupons for 10% off, coupons for $5 off a $25 purchase, and so on.  Before you hit the checkout button, check our verified.codes websites for online coupons and deals BEFORE you hit the confirm purchase button.

Yea there’s other online coupon code sites BUT Verified Codes is the only site that has a 50% off page that is updated and verified daily!

Just like the coupons you take the grocery store though, online coupons have an expiration date and sometimes restrictions too. Luckily Verified Codes stays on top of that including a section for “expiring today” coupons.

Gorton’s Realistic Resolutions Challenge with SparkPeople

I received free product coupons and samples to complete an honest review of the products and challenge as part of the Gorton’s blogger program.  Any opinions expressed are my own.

Did you make a new year’s resolution this year?  I’ll be honest, I used to but I don’t really anymore.  Instead I set goals that I want to achieve throughout the year, realistic goals.  This year one goal is for me to pay off the last of the joint debt from my first marriage. That’s a whole story I won’t get into but I only have about $2000 left and that debt will be gone and help me keep moving ahead.  To me it will also feel like another chain broken from my first marriage. I’m proud of myself that I’ve been able to do it myself. It’s taken forever but I’ve increased my credit score over 120 points since moving towards a better financial future.

Another goal I have.  I want to lose about 8 lbs.  Sounds easy enough except I’ve been stuck at almost the exact same wait for about 5 years now.  Sure I fluctuate a pound or two in either direction but it seems my median is right where I’m at now.

Lastly, My doctor has me on a Low FODMAP diet for possible IBS and it could possible help with some of my ulcerative colitis symptoms.  Staying on the diet has been hard since it is very restrictive. Yes I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times but for the most part, I’ve been doing it.

Ok so, the real reason for this post.  The Gortons’ Realistic Resolutions Challenge with SparkPeople.  It’s a 30 day realistic challenge that’s easy to follow along with.  You sign up for the challenge for free with realistic and helpful things to do every day to help you with your healthy New Year’s resolution. I’m on day two.  For day two it asks me to drink once more glass of water today than I normally would.  That’s easy for me because I actually enjoy drinking water especially with a little lemon it it.

I found that the 30 day Gorton’s Realistic Resolutions Challenge can actually help me with 2 of my goals for the year.  To lose the few pounds I want to lose and to stay on my low FODMAP diet my doctor recommended for me.  I made a yummy dinner today using grilled halibut from their Gorton’s Grilled fish selection.  It’s gluten free and I’m allowed fish on my diet.  I paired it with some other things that were allowable on my diet like pineapple and hominy for a satisfying, healthy, and diet friendly meal.  Even my kids loved it!

Blog 001 gortons halibut grilled

I’ll be the first to tell you, I’m not a big fish eater.  I just don’t like the fishy taste and smell, I don’t. Yea, I know, and I’m a Gorton’s blogger. BUT, being a Gorton’s blogger has helped me explore the different ways to eat seafood and fish and I’ve found plenty that I love.  My kids love the Potato Crunch fish fillets.  Everyone loves the shrimp.  My oldest son wanted to try the grilled halibut.  I was iffy about trying it but I did since it fit into my diet.  I ate every bite of it and enjoyed it.  It was so good.  Juicy, flaky, flavorful, and it wasn’t super fishy like I expected. I also, bought the Gorton’s Grilled Tilapia and now I can’t wait to try that!

There are lots of healthier options to choose from with Gorton’s Grilled and Gorton’s Simply Baked lines to help you with your new years resolution or to take the 30 Day Gorton’s Realistic Resolutions Challenge with Spark People.  Gorton’s and Spark People also sent me a nice pack to help me with my goals this year.

I grabbed an Under Armour shirt for each of my boys.  My youngest son’s was only $9.99 and my 2 older boys shirts were only $14.99.  I also got an Under Armour long sleeve shirt for myself for only $14.99.    We love Under Armour here but if that’s not your brand other brands in the sale are: Nike, The North Face, Roxy, Adidas, Converse, Puma, and more.

Don’t hesitate though.  Seriously I wouldn’t say it like that.  I had actually picked out an Under Armour shirt for my oldest son but by the time I made it to check out they sold out so I had to find another one in his size.  Some of the other ones I had considered were sold out of his size too.
