You probably already know that wine has some health benefits.  Antioxidants and resveratrol are just a couple of the reasons for that.  I enjoy an occasional glass of wine and it’s nice to know that in moderation it actually has some benefits.  Now, thanks to deVine, you can get the benefits of wine for your lips.

deVine has created a lip shimmer that is the first of it’s kind.  Harnessing the benefits of the vineyard grape you get a lip balm with shimmer that contains resveratrol, grape seed oil, and red wine antioxidants.  Each lip shimmer also has a slight hint of color and is named after the type of wine for it’s color.

Bordeaux – Luscious deep black cherry lifts your spirits and gives your lips a deep pink shimmer.
Cabernet – A bold copper bronze look embodied with spirit & fruity appeal. let your lips lead the way to fun and excitement.
Champagne – Celebrate the moment with this light & creamy shimmer with a hint of strawberry.
Chardonnay – A soothing a creamy untinted balm with a light shimmer and a hint of vanilla.
Merlot – Deep red berries create a bold, dramatic look with a luscious smooth shimmer.
Rose – Soft pink hue for a subtle, natural look. the light fruity finish makes it perfect for everyday wear.

deVine lip balm

deVine lip shimmers are a thin twist stick which makes them easy to put in your pocket, purse, or even your wallet.  I chose to review the bordeaux flavor.

deVine wine lip gloss

I loved the feel of this lip shimmer on my lips.  It really gave relief to my dry winter lips.  I expected a little more tint I suppose but the shimmer was evident.  I liked that it had a slightly floral/fruity scent and flavor too it.  I also love the fact that it’s made right here in the USA.  It’s alcohol free, gluten free, cruelty free, and paraben free.  If you only apply one layer you get a slight shimmer but the color isn’t real noticeable.  I applied a couple layers and did get some color to show up.

I really enjoy using this lip shimmer.  I’ve been keeping it in my lab coat pocket at work and applying it when I need it.  The combo of the dry air and the amount of talking I have to do at work, a good lip balm always comes in handy.

Educational Gift for Baby: Talking Farm From CPToys.com

**I received the below mentioned product for review purposes.  Any opinions expressed are my own.  No other compensation has been received**

There are so many toys available for babies of all ages. There are so many different ways to choose the right toys: from their educational value, motor skills level, age appropriateness, and sensory aspects. My daughter is currently 7 months old.  She’ll be 9 months old the day after Christmas. She is not sitting up on her own but she’s army crawling.  She loves things that light up and she seems to like the cause and effect of pushing a button and seeing/hearing something happen.  I’m trying to work on her sitting skills as well.

At CPToys.com you can search through their selection in a number of different ways.  You can search by keyword, age appropriate/grade appropriate, price, and category of toys. I found the chicco Talking Farm on their site which is listed for 12 months and over.  I liked the idea of the Talking Farm though because it lights up, it has lots of buttons to push that create different sounds and are educational.   It’s also a bilingual toy which has modes for both English and Spanish.

cptoys.com Talking Farm

The one we got is set up a little bit different than the example picture on CPToys.com.  There are 4 different game modes.  One is where they can just press the button and it tells them what theyare pushing “orange cat” and makes the animal sound when pressing the animals, “1”, so on and so forth.  Game mode 2 asks you to listen to the animal sound then find the animal that matches the sound.  When they find the correct one it tells them they’re right and reinforces the color and animal.  If wrong it says “uh oh this is the…” whatever animal they pushed then asked them again to find the correct animal.  Game mode 3 asks questions without the animal sound for example “find the white sheep”, “find the red rooster”.   Then there is a music button so they can listen to music and it changes every time they hit the note.  I also mentioned that it is bilingual.  You can switch it to Spanish and play the same games in Spanish.

There are plenty of aspects I like about this toy.  I like that everything is connected and there are no small parts.  It has a built in handle that makes it easy to carry.  The buttons are big and easy for baby to push.  As your child gets better with one game mode you can change it to another game mode to keep them learning and engaged.  Even my 4 year old son enjoyed playing with this toy. We made a video to show all the features and modes of this toy.  It’s a little longer than my normal review video but I wanted to make sure I demonstrated all the different aspects.

The chicco Talking Farm is available on CPToys.com for $45.99.  For a toy that does so much I think the price is worth it.  The fact that it will be relavent to them for a few years makes it have some staying power as well.   Here’s a hint to save more.  Sign up for CPToys.com newsletter and get 15% off your next purchase.

Snails Nail Safe Nail Polish for the Little Princess

Holiday guide 2013 button

Do you have a little girl, grand-daughter, or niece that’s a girly girl.  Maybe she wants to do what the big girls do which includes getting her nails painted.  Regular nail polishes can contain chemicals and other ingredients that can be harsh on a little ones gentle skin or just not good for them if they would put their hands in their mouth or if they’re a nail biter.

Snails Nail has a fantastic solution.  Snails Nail is a safe, non-toxic nail polish made just for little girls.  It’s made and packaged in France which adheres to Europe’s strict cosmetics laws and standards. It’s hypo-allergenic, free of parabens, and uses non-toxic colorants.  Don’t worry about having to use a harsh nail polish remover to get it off either.  You can remove Snails Nail with simple soap and water!

Having my first little girl I was so excited to try this.  I couldn’t wait for the day I could do my daughter’s nails.  I tried it on myself first just to see what it was like.

I received two colors from their collection.  Sweetheart which is shown in the top picture. It’s a dark pink color.  I also received Raspberry Pie which is a shimmery purple which you can see in my YouTube video where I demonstrate how easy it is to remove Snails Nail safe nail polish. It applies smoothly.  Two coats is recommended and I would recommend the same.  The colors are vibrant and noticeable.  I also noticed when applying it has a light lovely scent.  It smells like a floral scent, lovely!

If you would want the nail polish to last longer you can get Snails Nail “Breathe Easy” Top Coat. It also contains no harsh chemicals and is free of harsh odors.  It can make the Snail Nails safe polish last for at least 2 days to a week or more.

Snails Nail has gift packs available that would be a great holiday present for the little diva.  Snails Nail safe polish individually would also make a glam stocking stuffer for a budding beauty guru.  After trying it myself and reading as much as I could about it, I felt confident I could try it on my daughter.
