Baby Proof You Outlets with coverPlug

**I received samples of the below mentioned product in order to complete an honest review.  No other compensation has been received**

My daughter is 7 months old and starting to crawl. A very curious baby she is, as most are.  We had a night light in one of the 2 outlets in her room. I put her on the floor the one day and she quickly crawled over to the night light and started playing with it.  I unplugged it immediately but it made me realize I put off some of the baby proofing for too long.

coverPlug is an easy way to make your outlets nearly invisible to babies.

The plastic pegs that you see on the back insert into the ground openings of the outlet. Simply line up the pegs with the ground opening and press it into place. No tools needed.

The majority of the outlets in our house that the baby can get to are on the white trim of the house so they blended in fine.  They are made to blend in with the wall “out of site out of mind” But say you’re outlets are on a..um I don’t know, purple wall maybe.  coverPlugs are paintable. You can paint them to blend in with the wall.

My children were always facinated by the outlets at some point.  I bought those little clear plastic plugs to put in them with my older boys.  It worked ok for a while but they were still curious about the outlets and even eventually figured out how to pull those clear plugs out.  With the coverPlug, the outlet is completely covered and blends in.  Not as interesting to the little ones.

As for my daughter, the top picture is the outlet in her room. You can see it’s right the perfect line of site for a crawling 7 month old.  She hasn’t bothered to go near the outlet since I put the cover on it.   You can check out their “Where to Buy” section for online retailers that carry coverPlug.  You can also find them on Amazon:

The weather is getting colder.  We’ve already had some snow here in south central Pennsylvania.  It’s not until the first nip in the air that I start thinking things like “Boy I hope the kids have gloves that fit” and this year it was “Oh I need to get some cute accessories for baby girl for the winter” BeltOutlet.com has all that and then some.  If you have a traveler on your list there’s lots of things for them on Beltoutlet.com too.

So ok back to baby girl, I have 3 boys and had my baby girl this past spring. Sure I can hand down the boys things to her but come on, this is my first girl after three boys.  I’m all about pink, and glitter, and cutesy.  BeltOutlet.com had the cutest little hat and mitten set for babies.   I chose BeltOutlet newborn hat/mitten set in the pink cat set for my daughter.  I couldn’t wait to try it out on her.

infant hat and gloves beltoutlet.com

Ok is that not cute or what?  The hat and mitten set is listed on the site as newborn sets but I’ll tell you the truth my daughter is  7 months old and it was a bit big on her.  The elastic brim fit snug on her head but there is still some room to grow into the hat.  That’s not a complaint, kids grow fast but if you’re hoping for it to fit a newborn, just warning you, it’s gonna be big.  The hat and gloves are a nice quality.  The hat is thick, definitely not cheaply made.  They also have this set available in black and white cow, black and white leopard, and the color looks to be a tan dog.

Ok one more pictures:

This would be a really nice add on gift to a child’s present or a great stocking stuffer.  This is a nice set to grab at only $8.95 currently on their site.

Another thing that always seems to be a popular gift around the holidays is comfy pajamas.  I personally love a nice warm pair of pajama pants in the winter. I’m always cold. BeltOutlet.com has plenty of options for adult sleepwear. Flannels, cotton tees, shorts, nightshirts, whatever makes you comfortable.

I received the Boxercraft Tie Cord Flannel PJ Pants for women.  These are soft and comfortable.  I love the colors too. You can get them in purple plaid or blue plaid for us ladies.  It was a tough choice but I ended up going for the blue plaid.

Don’t you just love the color?  These on sale on their site for $21.95 right now. Initially when I tried them on I thought I messed up and got a size too big.  But then I put it through the washer and dryer.  That solved my issue.  The did shrink up a bit after the wash. They are 100% cotton. They are made to have a roomy fit.  So if you’re in the market for some pajamas, check out Beltoutlet.com.

I think you’ve figured out by now that Beltoutet.com is more than just belts.  Stop by and visit BeltOulet.com.  While you’re at it follow them on their social media site:

Sugar Free Baking for the Holidays (But They Won’t Know)

**I received a variety of products from NuNaturals to try.  I was under no obligation to do a review.  Any opinions expressed are my own**

Holiday guide 2013 button

It’s that time of year.  The time of year where we have treats, feasts, and confections everywhere.  Most of us will indulge a little (or maybe a lot) and regret it later.  Yet for me, it just doesn’t seem like Christmas if there isn’t holiday cookies in the oven, or the kids aren’t helping me bake.  This year we’re trying something different.  No we’re not giving up the cookies, we’re giving up the sugar.  I know what you’re thinking, what’s the point of cookies without sugar?  Well we’re using a great sugar substitute for NuNaturals.

NuNaturals has everything you need to make your holiday baking sugar free and healthier with things like fiber and yummy flavors.   I received a plethora of product from NuNaturals to try.  For me to review everything I received in one post, I just didn’t think it would do it justice.  There were so many things with so many different ideas.  NuNaturals also has lots of recipes to try on their site if you’re not quite sure how to use the products or you just want ideas.

Some of the products I received included oat fiber and NuStevia baking blend.

nunaturals oat fiber

I’m already a fan of the NuStevia MoreFiber Sweetener Baking Blend but had never tried the NuNaturals NuGrains Oat Fiber.  The Oat Fiber lets you add fiber to any of your holiday baking from cookies, to cakes, to rolls.  Simply add in 3 tablespoons of oat fiber for every 8 servings.  So if your recipe makes 24 cookies and a serving size is 3 cookies then you need 3 tablespoons of oat fiber.  The NuStevia baking blend is a great substitute for the sugar in your recipes.

I tried the Chocolate Chip Pan Cookies recipe on the NuNaturals site.  I’ll be honest, to me the recipe seemed like it was missing something like maybe milk or water because the bars turned out very dry and crumbly.  BUT, they still tasted good.  My 4 year old just loved these.  Every day he’d say “mommy can I have a cookie” and I’d give him a little bar with some milk.  Even my oldest son who is a bit picky had a couple of these bars.

I used holiday chocolate chips.  Even if this recipe just isn’t your cup of tea, there’s lots of other recipes on the site for cookies, pies, cakes, breads, and more for your holiday spread.

NuNaturals ships free to the continental US with orders of $35 or more.   I’ll have more NuNaturals ideas throughout the holiday guide so stop by again.

Citrus Lane Box Review and 50% a Box for You!

**I received a Citrus Lane box for review purpose.  I’m also an affiliate with Citrus Lane.  Any opinions expressed are my own**

Holiday guide 2013 buttonCitrus Lane is a box subscription service great for the little ones and the moms-to-be.  When you sign up for Citrus Lane you’ll put your child(ren)’s ages and info in so Citrus Lane can customize a box just for your child.  Citrus Lane boxes can be customized for newborn to 5 years old.  This is a great way for mom and baby to try out some new kid friendly and mom approved products.   They can contain a mixture of products like toys, snacks, clothing, baby care items, hygiene products, and more.

I had never tried the Citrus Lane boxes before.  I’ve heard some positive things about it from other moms and bloggers.  When I had the chance to try it myself, I jumped on it.  My daughter is 7 months old so I had it customized for her.  I didn’t know what types of things to expect.  I see example pictures and I think “yea they promote the best box right” Well it would seem that they are all really good boxes.  This is the box I received.

Citrus Lane November box

I really was excited about the box I received.  My box contains:

  • Boon Dive bath applique set
  • Plum Organics Little Yums teething wafers
  • Babytime by Episencial Playful Wash shampoo and body cleanser
  • Green Tones Rattle Roller toy
  • BeginAgain Green Ring teether

All the products were full size except the Plum Organics Little Yums but there was three wafers in the package.  For only $25/mo I think this box was really good.  Shipping is always free.  BUT I have an even better deal for you.  If you are a new customer for Citrus Lane, you can get 50% off your first box.  The 50% off does not work for 3, 6, or 12 month subscriptions only for the first box.  That makes your first box only $12.50 with free shipping.  I think it would be fun to send a subscription like this for the grandkids or a niece/nephew. I think my 4 year old son would be thrilled to get a box geared for his age.  Think about it, fun stuff, practical stuff, snacks. He’d be all set for a while.  I have had the opportunity to try a number of box subscription services and this is the best one to date.  Definitely worth the  money.

I also did a video if you want to see each individual item.

Natural Organic Castile Soap from Dr. Woods

**I received the below mentioned product in order to complete an honest review.  No other compensation has been received**

With so much in the news anymore about crazy chemicals and other oddball things in our food and products we use on our bodies, it’s nice to see a company that tries to do right for both body and environment.  Dr. Woods specializes in 100% natural castile soaps.  They use organic oils as well.

I had a chance to try one of Dr. Woods products. I received the Dr. Woods Lavender Castile Soap bar.  The soap bars are triple milled.  They use organic lavender, essential oils, organic shea butter, vitamin E.   I could smell the lavender before I even opened the box.  I LOVE the smell of lavender.

Dr Woods soap

The scent of the lavender enveloped me in the shower.  This was a perfect scent choice for me because shower time is about the only time I have to myself and I enjoy a long hot shower.  The scent did not seem to linger though.  I felt like as soon as I got out of the shower the scent was gone. It felt gentle on my skin.  The bar itself is a generous size.  5.25 oz bar.

Another thing I like about this soap is the ingredient list. Seriously, it’s nice to look at an ingredient list and know exactly what’s in it.  Not some 16 letter word I can’t pronounce.

Don’t worry if bar soaps aren’t your thing. They also have 100% natural liquid castile soap and facial cleansers.
