I LOVE Purex Crystals. I mean seriously love them. It’s not something I’d say you NEED for your laundry but I think of it like fragrance for your laundry that also happens to soften them without ruining your laundry. One of my favorite things to use Purex Crystals with is the bedding. There is nothing like washing my bed sheets, comforter, and pillows with Purex Crystals and getting the lovely sent and softness to help you nod off to dreamland. Now they’ve introduced a new scent, Purex Crystals New Fresh Mountain Breeze Scent.

I love this because if you didn’t already know, Purex also makes a Fresh Mountain Breeze laundry detergent. Coupled together this is a really great pair. Even if you don’t user the Mountain Breeze detergent though, you’re still getting a wonderful scent.

Purex Crystals are easy to use. Just use the handy cap to measure the amount of fragrance you want, toss them in the wash with your laundry and that’s it.

Purex Crystals are a 90% natural softener. They do not reduce the absorbency of towels like some fabric softeners do. They also do not reduce the effectiveness of moisture wicking materials.

I washed my comforter for my bed and all of my youngest son’s bed clothes with the crystals. The scent was lovely. I like to use a smaller amount just because I like a subtle scent when it comes to fabrics. If you like a bolder scent go ahead and add a little more than I do. I do like the Mountain Breeze Scent. It is very similar to their laundry detergent of the same scent. It’s not what I expected but it’s still really nice.

A watch can be a great gift if you know the receivers style. I personally love a watch that I can wear daily and will match almost anything I wear. JORD wood watches make giving a great watch for Valentine’s day easy. Wood watches from JORD use natural wood and wood colors to take the look of watches back to nature. Using natural wood ensures that each watch is unique because of the grains and patterns of the wood and colors.

JORD watches use premium Citizen Miyota movement. There are a number of different styles to choose from a many can be unisex so weather you’re looking for something for your special guy or the lady in your life, JORD wood watches is a good one stop shop for beautiful natural watches.

I was excited to have the opportunity to test our a JORD wood watch myself. I chose the Ely which is a unisex maple watch. This one is a great every day watch and fits my standard of being able to match a number of outfits.

This watch had a chunkier face than I initially anticipated but it’s very easy to read and eye catching. It also has a small date window you can see on the right by the 3 marker. You can easily set the time and date by pulling the pin on the side of the watch. The watch has a pin and screw for the links to adjust the size. I did have a little bit of a time trying to adjust the size myself. I was able to get some of the links out to adjust but I still needed more because I have a small wrist. I like my watch to be snug and that usually means a 6 inch or 6.5 inch measurement for me. I tried to get the screw and pin out of the other links but the screws kept spinning. I ended up needing to take it to a jeweler to finish the sizing. The jeweler didn’t charge me much though and it was worth it to have the watch fit well.

When I contacted JORD by using their live chat feature on their website they did tell me that on occasion because the watches are made of natural wood, sometimes the wood will get in the way of the screws or on a rare occasion will have a defective screw. Again the jewelry was able to adjust it for me with little effort and a few dollars.

As a tip from me, when adjusting yourself you have to hold one side steady and the other side you need to twist the screw. If you just try to unscrew the screw the other side spins with it. One side is a pin and one is a screw, it’s hard to tell which. I rigged my own set up to take it out so I could hold one side steady without ruining my watch.

I used duck tape to hold down one small phillips head screwdriver and used another small screw driver on the other side. Hey it worked!

Another feature I liked about this watch is that the clasp is pretty simple to clasp and unclasp. The watch is light weight. My son was eyeing up the watch. He said “Hey this would fit me, can I have it?” Lol it would look nice on him. I don’t know, I rather liked it once it was sized. Maybe I’ll let him borrow it once in a while 🙂

Rogers Family Coffee Review

I’m a coffee lover. I usually have at least one cup a day. More often than not I have about 2 or 3 cups a day. My hubby loves coffee too. I’ve tried lots of different kinds but before this review I had never tried Rogers Family Coffee.

For this Rogers Family Coffee Review I was lucky enough to try 4 different flavors of the Black Mountain Gold Premium Gourmet Coffee. I received this coffee in Cinnamon Crumb Cake, Southern Pecan, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut Creme. All of them sounded delicious to me so it was hard to decide which one to try first. Hubby wanted to try the Cinnamon Crumb Cake so that’s what we did. I actually used my reusable K-cup to make an individual cup of this flavor first to see how it would turn out.

In the bag, it only smelled like coffee to me. I couldn’t pick up any of the flavors scents. When it started brewing though, oh my goodness. It smelled wonderful. My 10 yr old son came down from upstairs and said “What smells so good?” He told me he thought I was baking something. My oldest son said it smelled good and asked me when he was allowed to start drinking coffee.

The next day my husband brewed a big pot of the Southern Pecan flavor. The scent wasn’t as aromatic as the Cinnamon Crumb Cake but we loved the flavor . All of these coffees were a regular roast and brewed beautifully in both the 12 cup pot and my Keurig mini.

I wanted to tell you a little bit about Rogers Family Coffee because I think it’s interesting to know what they are doing as a company. Through all their brands, including the Black Mountain Gold reviewed here, they use sustainable and organic coffee. Rogers Family Coffee is 100% family owned. They use fair and direct trade coffee. They farm on shade grown farms and their own organic farms. This is what I like, a company that cares about their workers.
