Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash

**I received a sample of the below mentioned product as part of the Purex Insiders blogger program. No other compensation has been received**

Have you used Dial body wash before?  I’ve tried a number of different scents and formulas. My boys and my husband have too.  Dial makes body washes for men, women, and kids.  They keep adding to their great line of body washes too.  They now have the Dial Vitamin Boost body washes.  Dial Vitamin Boost Amazing “B” and Dial Vitamin Boost Super “C”.

I got the Dial Vitamin Boost Amazing “B” to try.  This one is lotion infused.  It’s a thicker body wash which I liked.  I also learned something with the “vitamin fact” on the bottle that said “Vitamin B is a natural humectant that helps draw in moisture and keep skin hydrated”  The bottle is a generous 16 fl oz size.

I love the scent.  It has kind of a fresh citrus type scent.  The bottle shows a kiwi on it.  Whether it actually has kiwi scent or it’s just the power of suggestion it does kind of smell like a kiwi.  I can’t find anywhere on the bottle what scent it’s actually supposed to be other than the picture suggestion.  I applied just a little to my loofah and that’s all I needed to wash my whole body.

The scent is a neutral scent, I think, so guys or ladies can use this one.  The bottle also doesn’t specify if it’s geared towards either gender. I’ve mentioned in a number of other posts how I get dry skin in the winter time. Anything that can help me add moisture to my skin around this time of year is appreciated.  When I washed my legs with it I could feel the different from a regular, non-moisturizing body wash.  You can read more about this body wash and see the rest of the Dial products available at www.dialsoap.com.

Valentine’s Day Gift Idea for Dad

**I received the below mentioned product in order to complete an honest review.  No other compensation has been received.  Opinions are mine (and my husbands) **

Valentines event 2014

I’ve done review posts in the past for a great company called Daddy Scrubs.  Well, Daddy Scrubs has now changed their name to Daddy & Co.  Still has great daddy gifts but encompasses more of what they have to offer.

Are you looking for a Valentine’s gift for the father of your children?  Daddy & Co. has lots of great choices.  Check out the comfortable Daddy loungewear available on their site.  Cool daddy themed Valentine’s Day pajama pants and boxers.  I particularly like the “word search daddy boxers”.  I was able to review one of the loungewear products but let my hubby decide since he is the one wearing them after all.  He chose the “Red Hot Daddy Pajama Pants”. These make a great Valentine’s Day Gift Idea for Dad.

My hubby loves his loungewear.  He wears pants like these all the time.  He calls them his “happy pants”.  When we received them I pulled them out of the shipping envelope. The 2 things I personally noticed first was that they were soft and they were a thinner material.  They are made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex.  They also have pockets.  My hubby said “oh those are nice” when I showed them to him.  He’s worn them around the house a few times.  Here is a picture I snapped when he was least expecting it.

My husband plays a couple gems on his computer and my youngest son just loves to sit and watch him play.  They talk to each other about what is going on in the game. My youngest son really gets into it.  As soon as he hears the music playing when my husband starts a game he comes running over.  I love Daddy & Co items.  I think it allows dads to be proud of being dads.  Moms of mother’s rings and mom shirts, mother/daughter events.  I’m happy to see a site that makes dads feel special too.

Reusa Wool Dryer Balls Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Wool Dryer balls have become a staple laundry item in my house.  Not only are they more eco-friendly but it makes laundry just a little easier, and saves you money.

Reusa wool dryer balls

Reusa Wool Dryer Balls are 100% natural.  They are handmade and never actually “wear out”.  It’s possible that over time they can pill like a wool sweater but it doesn’t effect your clothes.  Reusa Wool Dryer balls are unscented.  If you prefer scent in your laundry, like I sometimes do, you can add a few drops of essential oils to the dryer balls to add scent to your laundry.  Reusa Wool Dryer Balls come in natural color or 15 fun colors.

Wool dryer balls are also supposed to reduce drying time for your laundry by up to 50%.  They can also reduce static. I received a box of 3 to try for myself.

You just put the dryer balls into your dryer.  Throw your laundry in from the washing machine and start.  No need for dryer sheets, making wool dryer balls a greener and more affordable option.  Also better for those with sensitive skin.

I put the 3 Reusa Dryer Balls in my dryer. I had washed my comforter from my bed.  I usually have to put it through 2 full times and a 3rd time for about 20 additional minutes.  I only had to put it through twice.  It didn’t cut my drying time with that by 50% but it did shave some time off he norm.

I prefer the wool dryer balls for convenience too.  I don’t even have to take them out.  I just leave them in the dryer all the time.  No forgetting the dryer sheet and they’re always in there to cut down on the dry time.  The only annoyance  I have is that sometimes they like to get stuck in the clothes.  I’ll bring a load of laundry up and I’ll find one hiding in a pillow case or a sleeve. It’s no big deal though, just throw it back in.

They are about the size of a baseball. It’s not the intended use but my kids love to play with them.  Toss the around the house a bit or roll them on the floor.  Since they’re nothing but wool balls I don’t have to worry too much about them hurting someone with them.

Reusa Wool Dryer Balls are made in the USA.  You can buy them direct from The Willow Store or from one of hundreds of retailers across the US.

Purex Supports Make-A-Wish

**I will be receiving Purex detergent upon submission of this campaign as a Purex Insider**
I try to support charities whenever I can.  There are certain causes that truly move me.  I’m drawn to children’s charities often.  Make-A-Wish is one that I donate to or help with in some way when I can.  I also love working with companies that go beyond just putting a good product on the shelf.  When a company does more and gives back, that’s a company that makes me loyal to the brand.

Purex has teamed up with  Make-A-Wish for the “Bright Washes, Bright Wishes” campaign.  Purex is going to make a minimum $250,000 donation to Make-A-Wish but you can help them to do more, up to $400,000!  Every time you purchase a bottle of Purex liquid detergent or Purex liquid softener between February 1 to February 28, 2014 5 cents per bottle of liquid detergent for the first 4 million bottles sold then increase to 10 cents per bottle for every bottle sold over the first 4 million. For Purex liquid fabric softener classic and ulta lines in Mountain Breeze and Sweet Lavender scent, 8 cents per bottle will be donated for the first 620,000 bottles sold and increase to 10 cents per bottle donated after the first 620,000 are sold!

purex makeawish

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy . Children that have been a part of the program say it gives them a renewed strength to keep fighting their illness and the experience is uplifting for the entire family.  This is why Purex supports Make-A-Wish.

This cause is close to home for me.  Years ago I had a cousin who was diagnosed with Leukemia around age 14.  He was very active in BMX and other sports.  He was granted a wish through Make-A-Wish and he chose a swimming pool.  The whole family was able to enjoy it, including myself.  Many a summer was spent together swimming at the pool.  You know what, my cousin beat Leukemia and is now married and has 3 children himself.  So for those out there with this burden on your shoulders, don’t give up, keep on fighting!

I was just sitting here wondering if I have pictures from any gatherings.  I’ll have to check.  If I do I’ll have to scan one and post it.  I think Make-A-Wish is a wonderful cause.  Giving family a brief time where they can almost forget about the burden for a minute and just enjoy a moment this wonderful charity can give them.  You can see the Purex Bright Washes Bright Wishes campaign page here: http://www.purex.com/make-a-wish

I look at my beautiful babies and just can’t imagine what it would be like to deal with something like that.  I hope I never have to find out.  All I know is I send my thoughts and positive thoughts to the families that are dealing with this situation and applaud Purex for doing more!
