PMD, personal microderm you can do at home
Many day spas and certain doctors offer microderm abrasion treatments. You may know that one of the benefits to microderm abrasion is making your skin look and feel younger. Microderm can also help with age spots and acne. Did you know that microderm can also help those anti-aging creams work better?
One of the problems with Microderm abrasion at a spa or doctor’s office is the cost. Also, you need to keep going back. Who has that kind of money or time in this economy? If you’ve been wanting to try it but just don’t want to fork over the hundreds of dollars for the treatments, there is a less expensive alternative. PMD Personal Microderm.

Clorox Recipes for fun and Ultimate Mess Party contest
Sometimes it’s not so bad when kids make a mess. Like during a craft or when the help you bake. Sometimes it’s down right cute even. Like that picture we all have of our little ones covered in chocolate, flour, spaghetti sauce, etc. Kids seem to enjoy themselves when they can get creative and make a little mess without getting in trouble.
Clorox has created Clorox Recipes for Fun website. Fun and even educational ideas to do with your kids that are messy. Mess it up, then clean it up with Clorox. You can even submit your own idea for messy fun if you have one. Choose from the categories Wacky Science, Arts and Crafts, Kiddie Cooking, and Creative Cooking.
I think my boys would love a lot of the Wacky Science ideas. Looking over the site there’s a lot of ideas that don’t take a lot of materials and are pretty easy for your kids to do. Like the Cream Cheese Playdoh recipe in the Creative Cooking section. I love it, fun and edible.
You’ll notice on the Clorox Recipes for Fun site that they also have a contest. Register on the site and you’ll be entered to win $10,000 to have your own Ultimate Mess Party! Earn extra chances too just by viewing some of the super cool recipes on the site. You can get even more entries if you have your own recipe for fun to submit.
Here’s my idea and one that the kids love to do.
Bubble Painting
What you’ll need:
— a couple different colors of Tempera paint (about 1 Tbsp each color)
–liquid dish soap
–water
–white construction paper or cardstock
–Plastic cups (one for each color you plan on using)
–some type of covering for the surface your working on (newspaper for example)
–straws
–bubble wands and/or pipe cleaners
all artists should wear old clothes, this will get messy.
First cover your surface with newspaper. Then place at least 1 Tbsp of one color of Tempera pain in a cup, add 1 Tbsp of liquid dish soap. Add about a 1/4 cup of water. Do this for each cup/color
Test to see if your “bubble paint” will work by blowing gently with a straw in the paint. If it bubble up nice it’s good. If it’s too thick add just a little more water until it bubble up. If it’s too thin, add more liquid dish soap. You may also need to add a little more color is you like.
Give each little artist their own straw and bubble wand. Pipe cleaners can also be bent and made into bubble wands or different shapes if you like.
There’s 2 different ways you can paint:
1. Blow with a straw into the bubble paint until the bubble pass the surface of the cup. Take a piece of white paper and dab it on top of the cup to pick up some of the bubble paint.
2. use the bubble wands or pipe cleaner wands to blow bubbles directly on to the paper.
Last but not least, have fun. When the paper starts to get pretty covered with bubbles or the bubbles start to soak through the paper, it’s time for a new sheet. If it gets too damp it just falls apart.
The first time I ever saw this was at a family reading night at the school The boys had so much fun with it. And so did I for that matter.

Pittsburgh, learn how to save money on your electricity bill with Currentchoice.com
A lot of people want to save money, from clipping coupons to help save on the grocery bill shopping sales for clothes and gifts, to comparison shopping for big purchases and services. What about your electricity?
CurrentChoice.com makes it easy to see if you really will save. Every step is easy to follow. Simply go to CurrentChoice.com and type in your Pittsburgh zip code. It will tell you how much you could save. You can choose if you want to find a service with a variable rate, fixed rate, or if you want to search both.
One of several things that make the site user friendly, if you’re not sure what something means, there’s an info bubble you can click on and it will define it for you in easy to understand terms. At first, the savings numbers you see on the site are based on the average electricity usage for people in the Pittsburgh area. The cool part is that in a few seconds CurrentChoice.com can get your actual usage from the Duquesne Light Company’s website and then show you your savings based on your usage.
Are you making efforts to go greener? You even have the option to see which providers in your are offer energy from renewable sources AND see that you can save money by switching to them too.
Maybe you find yourself torn between 2 providers on the site, or perhaps you want to line up 3 different providers and see what the differences are. You can click the compare ticker in your list for your zip code and line them up side by side in an apples to apples comparison. What do I mean by apples to apples? Well, all of them will be listed in the same measurement, like kilowatts for example. The info is listed the same so it’s easy to go from column to column and line up the info.
Here’s an example of my screen using area average usage.
If you decide you wanna go ahead and switch your service provider it couldn’t be easier. Select the provider you want. If you chose to compare using your usage, your info is already there. Hit confirm once you made your choice. Once you confirm, that’s it. You just made the switch to save money on your electric bill. No phone calls to make, no worries about service workers coming to your house to “change” things over. It happens automatically withing 4 weeks.
I had the pleasure of talking with Alan Lehmann, the President and Co-founder of CurrentChoice.com and I learned a lot. Did you know that it used to be, that electric companies used to own the utility plants, poles, wires, and provide the service but now a company like Duquesne Light for example, only provides the service for the area? The electricity itself will come from the same plant but your just buying a “brand” of electricity” so to speak. If you’re a Duquesne Light customer and switch your electricity your service will still be provided by Duquesne Light. So no worries if you’re power goes out or a poles down. Duquesne Light will still be the ones to fix issues that arise. You don’t have to worry about who you need to call.
Check out the site and see what real customers are saying about CurrentChoice.com. While you’re there, check out their blog for helpful hints on saving energy in your own home, and more.
