If you’re not familiar with the movie, here’s a short synopsis.

The evil Dark Helmet (played by Rick Moranis) tries to steal all the air from planet Druidia. A determined Druish Princess (Daphne Zuniga), a clueless roque (Bill Pullman) and a half man half dog creature (played by John Candy) join up to stop Dark Helmet. The forces of darkness are closing in on them at ludicrous speed. They need the help of a wise imp named Yogurt (played by Mel Brooks) who teaches him the power of “The Shwartz” to fight against evil and earn merchandising rights.

I can’t believe this movie has been out for 25 years!

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island app and Giveaway!

I took my boys to see Journey 2: The Mysterious Island not that long ago. It was a great movie for the whole family with something for everyone. The boys couldn’t wait to see the giant bugs and things they showed in the trailer. As for me, well, it certainly added to my interested that Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) is in the movie :-).

A little about the movie: Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson from the Hunger Games) finds a hidden signal he thinks will lead him to his long lost grandfather (Michael Caine). With the help of his new Step-father (Dwayne Johnson) he starts an adventure which leads him to Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens) and the Island of Atlantis. Sean and his fellow adventurers battle giant bees, killer lizards, a volcano of gold, and an electric eel to escape the lost city and find their way home.

I have some ugly old paneling on my wall but the Instant Chalkboard still stuck wonderfully. It was super easy to put up. Just peel the back off, place it where you want it, and smooth it out with a credit card. If you don’t like where you put it you can take it off and replace it.

I was quite impressed with how well the chalk works on the vinyl. To wipe it off, just take a damp cloth and wipe it. This worked so well, my kids were fascinated with it too. They asked if I could cut some off the roll to put in their room so I did. Here’s a picture of me smoothing the Instant Chalkboard onto their wall.
