Pixi Beauty Holiday Collection Review

I received the below mentioned product to review. Any opinions expressed are my own.

Holiday Guide 2015

I love my make up.  I love all the colors and the possibilities.  I love doing my make up.  It’s a form of expression for me. Years ago (pre-kids) there was rarely a time that I would leave my house without full make up on.  Right down to the lip liner.  I enjoyed it.  Then it seemed with each kid I had, the less make up I wore.  I still enjoy doing my make up for the rare date nights my hubby and I have or the events when I want to make an impression.  I still enjoy it. Every time I play around with my make up, I think “I really need to do this more often”

Pixi Beauty Limited Edition Holiday Collection is here.  It’s sure to be on the list of any beauty queen.

Endless Silky Eye Pen quartette has a colour for every one of your Holiday looks this season! With a waterproof formula, they won’t budge or smudge, and the gel texture makes them glide on with ease!
Mattelustre Lipstick quartette adds a touch of colour to your look, and they demi-matte finish wears on and on! Infused with vitamins, the hydrating formula keeps your lips looking great even after you take it off!

I had personally been very interested in contouring but had never tried it before.  I’ve heard about it and watched some tutorials.  I didn’t think I’d ever be able to do it.  Still I wanted a contour kit to try it out in the comfort of my own home.  I’m a quick study.  I figure if I had a contour kit handy and watched a few tutorials I’d get the hang of it.  So with Pixi Natural Contour Kit in hand and YouTube at my finger tips I decided to give it a try.  I dislike taking selfies. I feel like my jaw line is kind of “saggy”. I wanted to try to contour a narrower jaw line.  For my first try EVER I was happy with the results:

What do you think?  Do you notice a difference?

The other thing I’ve tried to do a number of times was the cat eye look.  I tried with my regular eye liner pencils. I just never seemed to achieve the look the way I wanted it.  I received a Pixi Beauty Cat Eye Ink liner.  I’ll be honest it made me kinda nervous. it was an angled marker looking thing.  It said it lasts for 12 hours.  The line it drew was very dark and bold.  I tried it though. It was the first time I was ever happy with a cat eye look that I did.  This stays put too.

This pic was when I initially put it on. As I played with my make up a little more I decided to go a little thicker and bolder to get the look I have in my contouring before and after pics above.

The Mattelustre lipstick quartette gave a velvety finish to my lips.  The lipstick lasted too.  Normally if I put my lipstick on to go to work or…pretty much anything…it’s gone within an hour or 2.  This lipstick lasted 4 hours strong before I needed to reapply even after drinking coffee.  AND it didn’t transfer onto my coffee cup.  I was surprised.

I have some swatches here of the Mattlustre Lipstick quartette and the Endless Silky Eye Pen quartette

The eye pens were a smooth glide.  I didn’t feel like had to drag it and go over the area again and again to get the color depth I wanted it.  The swatch in the picture is just one stroke of the eye pen.

If you’re looking to treat yourself.  This Pixi Beauty Holiday Collection is affordable and portable.  Take it with you in your holiday travels, gift it to the beauty lover you know, create your holiday look with this kit. This limited edition collection is gorgeous!  I’m so happy with every product I received.  So happy I’ll share a few more selfies with you.

Triple Your Cash Back Shopping Online for the Holidays

I’ll receive Swagbucks for this post.

Most of us have some sort of cash back rewards on our credit or debit cards. Every time we use them, we get a percentage back in the form of cash or redeemable points that we can save in our rainy day fund, or use to splurge guilt-free, depending on your personality. But you may not know that, with Swagbucks, you could be multiplying those cash back rewards without changing anything about your credit card or spending habits. As you finalize your holiday shopping plans, don’t miss out on this chance to double, triple or even quadruple your cash back from online shopping!

Here’s how it works – Swagbucks, which always offers great cash back on major online retail sites throughout the year, is doubling their rewards for the entire holiday season. But wait – On Black Friday (Starting 8pm ET on November 26) and Cyber Monday (November 30) they are offering Triple Cash Back at a huge range of featured online stores, think Walmart, Target, Barnes & Noble, etc. – plus a wide range of specialty businesses to choose from in order to find the perfect gifts. All you have to do is click on the retailer’s link from Swagbucks and shop from there – that’s it! Keep using your usual card to get your usual cash back rewards, and rack up triple rewards at Swagbucks on the side. The rewards Swagbucks offer differ across retailers, so expect anything from 3% to 24% Cash Back, on top of whatever your card offers not to mention the retailers’ massive sales. As always, with the SB you earn on Swagbucks you can get Visa cash cards or Pay Pal deposits or pick from a huge range of gift cards, some at discounted prices.

What’s that? you prefer waiting in the freezing cold lines to shopping at home in your jammies on Black Friday? Well ok, it’s a tradition of sorts, I guess. But make sure you put your time in line to good use – with Swagbucks Mobile Apps, you can put cash back in your wallet just by shivering with your smartphone in hand! Plus, when members use the new Swagbucks Mobile App on Black Friday they will be entered into a $500 Christmas Giveaway! For every 25 SB you earn through the Mobile App, you’ll get an entry into a drawing for $500 or 1 of 20 prizes for $100.

With all these deals you can’t lose, and hopefully you can save that little extra to stretch your holiday budget as far as it needs to go this year. First time hearing about Swagbucks? Well you’re missing out! Sign up for free here.

Prepping Your Vehicle for Winter

Here in southern Pennsylvania, there’s a chill in the air, the days are shorter, and I know that any day could be the first snow fall.  We’re actually quite lucky so far this year.  We sometimes have our first snow fall the end of October.  This weather makes me realize I need to give my vehicle a good check to make sure my car is as ready for winter as I can get it.  My worst winter driving fear is getting into an accident or breaking down with the kids in the car when I’m the only one there and it’s 10 degrees outside. Walking it is not an option.

Blog 004

Here’s some things you can check on your own to make sure you’re ready for winter:

  • Windshield wipers: They do  make winter windshield wipers that are optimal for clearing snow. They are made from a strong flexible rubber that is better to deal with colder temps and resist freezing to windshields
  • Tires: If you use all season tires make sure that they don’t need replacing.  Winter tires are made to withstand colder temps, deeper treads to deal with snow and sleet.
  • Top off Fluids:  Windshield washer fluid becomes more important in the winter with dirty slush, road ash/salt, and gravel being thrown at your windshield. Anti-freeze is another important fluid to fill.
  • Is your heater working properly? You may not have noticed in the winter months.  If your air conditioner has been a little weak you might want to check your heater too.  If your heater isn’t working it can become down right dangerous to drive with windows frosting and freezing.  Not to mention how cold it can get for you or your family.
  • Car Battery:  You can have your car battery tested for free a many auto parts stores or from your local mechanic.  You want to make sure your battery is in top shape if you experience very cold winters.  The last thing you want is for your car not to start when it’s 10 degrees outside and your 30 miles from home.
  • Winter Car tools:  Make sure you have winter car tools available like an ice scraper.  Emergency kits are a good idea to have year round but they become especially important in the winter time when walking to a gas station or walking home in below freezing temps could be dangerous.  Have a phone charger in your vehicle.
