**I received a BDF gift card to shop the Easter deals at Bottom Dollar Food. Any opinions expressed are my own.**
I’m a big fan of Bottom Dollar Food. Not only do they have awesome sales but I love how their stores are set up. Each one I’ve been in is well lit, clean, and stocked. I’m also a fan of the walk in coolers for their produce. Speaking of sales though, from April 10 – April 15 they have special buys on everything you need for Easter dinner. Wait I have to show you the amazing deals I saw in the store and how I filled my cart up for my big family Easter dinner!
I decided to try out one of the Bottom Dollar Food locations in Butler, PA this time. My friend Penny (I didn’t realized the irony of taking her with me, given her name and the great deals until now lol) she graciously volunteered to accompany on my trip. Both for a girls day out and to check out Bottom Dollar Food for herself.
I was again impressed with the inside and outside of the store. Very clean, well lit, neatly set up, and easy to find the sale items. As soon as we walked in we were by the produce section with the walk in cooler. We found this great deal on strawberries greeting us at the door.
Only $1.88 and they’re nice strawberries. Have any Easter desserts planned that need strawberries? Grab these up! Of course a lot of people have ham for easter. The main dish right? I know that’s what my family is going to have. Bottom Dollar Food has deals on ham right now both spiral cut for $1.47/lb and myessentials shank portion ham for 67 cents a pound! I debated but ended up going for the spiral cut ham and good 10 pounder. That should take care of the brood. I’d be willing to bet at these prices they’re going to go fast!
And of course what’s Easter without eggs? Eggs to dye, for deviled eggs, pickled eggs, whatever it is that you like. They have plenty of eggs, different size on sale from medium to xlarge.
Green Giant canned veggies are on sale for 65 cents a can. Perfect for your green bean casseroles, corn side dishes, or brown sugar carrots. If fresh produce is more your thing they have plenty of great deals on that too. They have broccoli crowns $1.48/lb. Someone at work told me about this awesome broccoli side dish that I think I’m going to try to make for our Easter dinner. It sounded absolutely delicious. You sautee some fresh broccoli in some oil in a frying paint. Add some crushed garlic clove. You keep stirring it until the broccoli glistens with the oil and is the garlic is mixed in. She said you can add pine nuts too if you like. You then mix in about 1/2 c of bread crumbs and shredded cheddar cheese until the that’s well mixed in the broccoli. Then put the broccoli in a casserole dish and sprinkle a little more cheese on top, and put it in the oven for 20 minutes at 350. I haven’t tried it yet but it sounds soooo good!
Some other deals I found worth snapping up at Bottom Dollar Food was myessentials cream cheese for 98 cents a block. They have regular, 1/3 fat, and fat free at this price. They had Kellogg’s pop tarts on sale for $1.88, you know so when you wake up early to hide Easter baskets and start Easter dinner you can eat your breakfast on the go, or is that just me?
Some tips from me when shopping at Bottom Dollar Food:
–Take your reusable shopping bags. If you want bags you can buy them there or you can use the tables in front of the registers to load up your groceries in boxes that I’ve noticed a lot of stores have available
–Be sure to have your Bottom Dollar Food card with you to get the best deals in store
–Visit the Bottom Dollar Food website to check out flyers and plan your trip. You can also load ecoupons to your card!
Well my friend and I found some awesome deals. I loaded my cart..err..overloaded my cart with deals. If anyone goes home hungry from my Easter dinner it’s their own fault! Oh and by the way, my friend Penny did like the shopping trip. We were talking about the deals we saw on the way home.
