Some guys take real pride in their facial hair.  Either they want to be clean shaven, or sport a goatee, or maybe prefer the beard.  My husband take his time in maintaining his goatee and mustache.  He’s particular about his razors.  He likes having  a few blades on his razor, he prefers the refillable blades, and has grown used to the edging tool available on some of his razors.  When I found out about Shavemob and looked at the prices the first thing I thought was “If these razors are any good, this could save us some money!”

 So my hubby gave it a try.  He said “I like it, it’s just as good as my [insert name brand] razor the only thing I got used to with my other razor is the edging tool.  If this one had an edging tool it would probably be just as good maybe even better than my regular razor”  [insert pause] “Oh wait a minute this does have an edging tool on it! I’ll have to try it next time I shave!”

So he didn’t notice the edging tool on his first shave. The next shave I made sure to snap some pics of him using both the razor and the edging tool.

 

 

Hubby is happy, I’m happy because now we have a way to save some money on razors. Which reminds me, ladies, they have razors for you too!  Same prices for the same type of packages. Oh and I’m supposed to tell you that hubby doesn’t want to be getting fan mail after this.  He only makes rare guest appearances on my blog.  So maybe that says something about this product too that he was willing to be displayed publicly on my blog lol.

This would make a great gift for any dad.  Think about this as a gift for your dad who lives in another state maybe even that dad overseas (PS they offer a US Military Discount).  We’re talking about father’s day here but just to slip this in, wouldn’t this be a neat idea for the college guy whose away at school too?

I have been wanting to add some fun, cute girly designs to my daughters walls for sometime.  I’ve had good experiences with other vinyl products in the past so this was my go to idea.  I was invited to review some removable wall decals from Wallslicks.com.  My daughters room is pink and spring green with butterflies.  I found this super cute set that had flowers, butterflies, and cute bumblebees.  The colors would mesh well with the colors in my daughter’s room. It’s called Flower Bugs Wall Decal Stickers.

I received the wall decals rolled neatly in a shipping tube.  When I first pulled them out I noticed the first 2 sheets were all the same color.  I was worried at first until I started pulling out more and more sheets and realized that each color had separate parts.  Until I pulled out all the sheets I was a little overwhelmed.

 

There were so many parts and trying to figure out what went to what.  There were instructions on how to apply it the vinyl to the wall itself but not which parts went to what.  I looked up the design on their website again just to get an idea.  I started figuring things out.  The yellow legs and wings of the bumblebees for instance were separate from the bumblebee stripes and face.

 

The instructions say to clean the wall thoroughly.  I cleaned the wall with a damp clean cloth and a shaklee all purpose cleaner I had.  I also think it’s important to mention that our walls are painted with a semi-gloss paint.  After allowing the walls to dry I started cutting out shapes and figuring out what went where.  I figured the logical place to start was from the bottom up, with the grass.

 

This vinyl set came with a hard plastic transfer tool that you were to rub over the masking tape part to transfer the design to the wall.  I was rubbing taking extra care around the tips of the grass blades. When I started peeling it back I noticed the grass was coming with it.  Initially I thought I just didn’t rub hard enough.  So I replaced it and rubbed hard but again, it was peeling off.  This did this no matter how much I rubbed with the tool. I ended up removing the whole thing from the masking tape and having my son help me place it then rubbed over the vinyl itself.  This seemed to work fine for the bigger grass parts.

After installing some steps and leaves (that did the same thing) I went to the flowers.  This is where I started to get a bit frustrated.  The petals would peel up.  The more delicate pieces started ripping.  It was trickier to remove it.

 

 

I worked for a little over an house the first day and had to take a break. I was starting to get frustrated.  I figured I had to be doing something wrong and figured I’d regroup, refresh and go at it again the next day.  Considering all the issues I ran into, as a whole, what I had done didn’t look that bad.

 

I racked my brain to try to figure out what I was doing wrong. Reading and rereading the instructions.  My thought was, maybe it was the cleaner.  So the next day I simply wiped the walls down with a clean damp cloth and started again thinking surely that must be it.  But to my dismay, that didn’t change the situation.  I also noticed the stuff I had done from the previous day was peeling up off the wall.

So I tried to apply a few more decals.  Trying different techniques and such.  The only thing I could figure is that these don’t work on semi-gloss paint.  It’s a shame, I really thought these would be perfect for my daughter’s room.  I didn’t even try the little bee lines that were supposed to go behind the flying insects because there was so many small dashes it would have taken me forever with it sticking and peeling. I have applied vinyl decals in m boys’ rooms that also had the same brand of semi-gloss paint though so not sure if it’s a different type of vinyl.

Shoplet.com has so many office supplies.  I’ve visited the sites a number of times and saw many products I’d like to have for my home office.  Even products I didn’t even know I’d like so much, that is until I got a chance to try them.  I’ve even poured over the promotional products on their site eyeballing things I might like to have to promote this site.

I received an Officemate Landscape clipboard from shoplet.com to review.  I could think of lots of household uses like using it for the kids to clip coloring pages or blank paper to and let them draw pictures for quiet time.  Another idea I came up with was using it as a flexible felt board toy for travel.  My youngest son absolutely loved the idea and will play with the felt board for 30-45 minutes at time.

The other item I received to review was a desk organizer and oh boy do I need that.  Actually this is one product I didn’t know I really needed until I had it.  This organizer had places to put pens, pencils, highlighters, etc. Then there’s a slot to put bills or in my case, some stationary I use to send out blog correspondence.  There’s a picture slot.  Little drawers to put paper clips, change, rubber bands, or other small things and a few small trays for whatever you want.  I use mine to keep track of my SD card reader and my chalk for my “to do” board.

The spot in the middle where I have my gift cards is actually meant for business cards but this works too.  I’m not entirely sure what the little sections on either side of the business card holder are actually meant for but this worked well for my use.  My SD card reader fit in their perfectly.

If you are  not familiar with Puritan’s Pride they offer high quality vitamins and supplements at affordable prices.  All their products are run through quality assurance tests for purity and full potency of the products you’re buying.  They don’t take their ingredients from must any supplier.  Nope, they have to meet Puritan’s Pride strict Quality Assurance standards.  With that being said, I had the opportunity to try some of the Puritan’s Pride Superfruit products and I’d love to tell you about them.

 

I received 6 different berry products that offer heath boosting properties.  Please note that any claims regarding health supplements have not been evaluated by the FDA.  I gotta say that.

Everyone knows that berries a a healthy treat.  Blueberries, blackberries, whatever you like.  Nothing like biting into a fresh strawberry right?  Many berries are full of antioxidants, vitamin C, and other benefits but why eat a whole pint of berries to get the benefits of the berries when you can take a small supplement pill that are packed with all those benefits?  I don’t know about you but here in Pennsylvania I can’t go to my local produce section and pick up fresh acai berries or goji berries on the regular.

I received 2 packs of dried berries to snack on.  Himalayan Harvest Organic Hunza White-Golden Mulberries and Himalayan Harvest Organic Hunza Goji Berries.  I have never these dried. I’ve only had goji berries in chocolate but never by themselves.

 

I’ll admit these dried berries were something that needed to grow on me.  Both of them had a pleasant, naturally sweet taste when I first started chomping on them but they both had an odd aftertaste I had to get used to.  There are no preservatives, they’re grown naturally, naturally sweet, and sun dried.  I kept going back to these over the course of about two weeks and the flavor started growing on me.  In fact, I’m snacking on some now as I’m typing this up.  The organic raw mulberries almost taste like honey in a way…that’s my opinion. The organic raw goji berries had a sweet taste I couldn’t quite put my finger on for a comparison. Unique to itself.

Then there were the 4 supplements I received: Acai 1000 mg, Cranberry fruit concentrate 4200 mg, Black Raspberry 300 mg, and Blueberry extract 60 mg.

 

Starting with the Cranberry fruit concentrate supplement, they were tiny red soft gel pills.  Easy to swallow.  In all honesty, when I put them in my mouth I could taste a little sweetness on my tongue.  You are supposed to take 2 tabs 3x per day.  Cranberries are high in vitamin C and A and the supplement also contains vitamin E.

Then there is the Freeze-Dried Black Raspberry supplement.  You are to take one capsule 1-3 X per day.  The capsule are a purple color and again easy to swallow.  They contain ground plant parts in the capsule and freeze dried black raspberry.

The Blueberry leaf standardized Extract supplement is a very small rapid release softgel.  You are supposed to take 1 soft gel 4X per day.  Blueberries are packed with antioxidants including 16% chlorogenic acid from blueberry leaves.   Since we usually don’t eat the blueberry leaves this is a great way to get those extra antioxidants.

Last but not least we have the Acai supplement.  Acai berries have become popular and have become one of the most sought after berries.  They are rich in flavonoid and antioxidants.  It is recommended to take 2 softgels twice a day.  These were the biggest of the supplements I received as far as pill size but still not huge.  Easy to swallow.
