Shoplet review: Zebra Pens

Shoplet.com offers a large variety of office supplies. Everything from stocking your office lunch room to supplies for your own desk at home. I had the pleasure of trying just one of the thousands of products they offer.

Zebra Pens was founded in 1982. This year (2012) they introduced their Z-Mulsion with emulsion ink. It’s made with a combo of oil, water, and pigment to bring you the smoothest writing experience. It’s formula is patent pending.

I received a nice selection of pens (and a mechanical pencil and a highlighter) in a nice pen binder from Zebra Pens. I also got the cute little stuffed zebra you see in the picture. Between my boys and I we tried out all the samples they sent us. I received 2 pens with the Z-Mulsion ink. The Z-Mulsion 10 and the Z-Mulsion EX Ballpoint pen. They were both red ink pen samples I received. Writing with these pens was quite smooth. The ink came out smooth and even. I didn’t have to press hard to get a legible word out.

Another fave in the pack I received was the Z-Grip Max Ballpoint Retractable Pen. It had an aqua color ink I though it was pretty and used it when sending out some of my correspondence for this blog. Each pen I used was comfortable to grip and wrote well. My boys tried their hand at some Zebra Pens artwork with a few of them.

Both of my boys took turns doing their homework just so they could try out the Zebra M-301 0.5 mechanical pen. One thing I liked about this mechanical pencil is the metal shaft and metal clip. Make it much more durable than a traditional mechanical pen. Seems like it could take some wear and tear from my boys.

When it came time to choose a costume, I let my oldest son pick this time. He chose the Mortal Kombat Scorpion Adult Costume. I had no idea Mortal Kombat was still around but apparently my boys know the characters and everything. He couldn’t wait until we got his costume. He didn’t have to wait long though. As soon as he came home from school .

Then here is my oldest son with the costume on, he’s trying to do a Mortal Kombat stance. Personally I think my Scorpion is cuter but shh don’t tell him I said cute..er I mean tough, yea tough.

It’s hard to believe it’s almost October and Halloween is only about a month away. I like to get all our costumes early and avoid the rush.

Enfagrow Older Toddler Ready to Drink Milk review

My youngest son is 3. The last year or so he’s been a really picky eater. It’s a challenge each day to get him to eat what he should be eating. I worry about if he’s getting enough of the vitamins and minerals into him that he needs to grow and develop healthy so when I had the opportunity to try Enfagrow Older Toddler ready to drink milk I was definitely interested.

Enfagrow is a shelf stable milk from Enfamil, that provides 25 key nutrients for a toddler’s development. It has a more vitamin C and E than cow’s milk too. It’s available in both vanilla and natural milk flavor. The question for me was, that’s great but can I get him to drink it. I knew I could get him to try it but to actually drink all of it, I wasn’t so sure.

I put the Enfagrow in the refrigerator to chill. They were barely cold when my so carried one of the packages over to me and said “Mommy, can I have that?” So I gave him one of the vanilla ones first. He drank it all. Then after supper he pulled another one out of the fridge. He drank the natural milk flavor too but seemed to prefer the vanilla the most. I actually took a small sip of the vanilla just to see what it tasted like. It kinda reminded me of a lightly sweetened melted vanilla milkshake if that makes sense. They come in drink box like containers with an attached straw so it would be easy to send with them to daycare, preschool, or even on a trip to the grandparents house.

You can see my son is enjoying his Enfagrow. I’m so happy to have found something that will help fill in some of the things his body needs when he just doesn’t want to eat for me the way he should.

Garden Botanika skincare review and giveaway

In 1989, Garden Botanika was started. Their mission was to create botanical based products that are a careful blend of science and nature, would be cruelty-free, and gentle to the environment. Their mission still holds true today.

I had the opportunity to try Garden Botanika’s best selling Daily 1-2-3 skincare and their bestseller Age Reverse Night Recovery cream.

As you can see in the picture their products are free of artificial dyes. What you can’t see is that they are also free of parabens, gluten, glycols, phythalates, SLS, and are vegan.

I tried the Daily 1-2-3 skincare of normal to combination skin. The 1-2-3 skincare consists of a cleanser, tonic, and moisturizer. I received the Balancing Gel cleanser. This products had a natural scent. You could smell the orange oil in the product. It also uses algae extract to remove impurities in the skin. You can see this pictured on the far right in the pic above.

Step 2 for normal to combination skin is the Balancing Neutralizing Tonic. This one again uses orange oil which is evident in the pleasant scent. It also uses walnut seed and echinacea extract to protect skin and panthenol and aloe to comfort. This is pictured on the far left in the pic above.

Step 3 for normal to combination is Balancing Daily Moisturizer. This product comes in a glass pump bottle. The moisturize itself is very light and absorbs into the skin right away. Botanical ingredient in this product include: Orange oil, Echinacea Root extract, green tea, acai berry, glycerin, and panthenol.

The 3 step combo was gentle on my skin. My skin didn’t feel weighed down or irritated in any way after using these products.

The last product I tried was the Age Reverse Night Recovery Cream. Again this came in a glass pump bottle. This product was also very light and is meant to be applied at night. It was gentle on my skin. It is supposed to help minimize age spots and sun damage and make your skin appear smoother and more radiant. Honestly, because I’m pregnant I’ve been having a bit of a pregnancy glow anyway so not sure if this product added to that. After a few nights I felt like my skin was a little more taut.
