Easy Access Bandage and Adventure Medical Kits review

Being a mom of 3 boys I try to stay prepared for the skinned knees, splinters, cuts, bumps, bruises, and whatever else come up. My boys are very active, involved in 3 different sports and love the outdoors. They wrestle, play football, and play soccer. My youngest isn’t quite old enough to be on an organized team yet but he likes to try to jump in with the big boys.

Playing sports, rough housing, and outdoor activities are super fun but you almost have to expect bumps and cuts in the process. The Tender Corporation offers a variety of home medical kits and supplies to fit your life style. Whether it’s a day of hunting in the woods or a day at the beach they have products to help keep you healthy and safe while still enjoying your activities.

The newest product available is the Easy Access Bandage

So what makes the Easy Access Bandage better than another bandage? The unique packaging creates a fan of bandages, simply grip the top of one of the bandages releases a sterile bandage that is ready to be applied with one hand, leaving the rest of the wrapper in the package! This means you could easily apply a bandage on yourself quickly. These bandages won’t break the bank though, they’re only $2.97 for a package of 30 available at Walmart. They are latex free in a 1 inch by 3 inch side. They will be releasing more sizes in 2013.

Super smart idea right? I thought so. The Tender Corporation has lots of helpful and must have supplies including afterburn treatment, Quikclot, which helps to stop bleeding, Adventure medical kits, DEET-free bug repellents, and more.

They also sent me two of their Adventure Medical Kits which had so many useful items in it. My husband drives to work 30 minutes one way every day. The road and area he drives too tends to get pretty bad in the winter and really is out in the where there isn’t many houses or businesses.. He First Aid 2.0 medical supplies and survival tools package and said he wanted to keep it in his car for emergencies. It comes in a zipper pouch with a listing of all the items it includes which is A LOT. Things like bandages, antiseptic towelettes, a compass, a rescue howler (so make a loud noise so someone can find you), elastic bandage, scissors, after bite care, and lots more.

The other one I received was the Family First Aid kit again this one came in a zipper pouch with a big list of items right on the pouch. This one contains a larger tube of after bite care, tweezers, instant cold pack, medical info for “caring for Children in the Outdoors”, moleskin, a portal family medic pouch that can be tucked into a pocket, antihistamine, and lots more.

New Zaggora products to enhance your workout

I’ve done a few posts reviewing Zaggora products. Some of you may even own some of your own. Since starting out the company had mostly offered a line of workout shorts/pants that help enhance your workout by keeping your muscles warm and helping to burn more calories while you workout. Zaggora HotPants have even been pictured on celebrities out for jogs.

Now Zaggora has added to their line up with Zaggora Hot Tops to include the Coola Bra, Hot Top, Body Blazer, and Hooded Body Blazer. They also added some body creams to their line up that includes SveltMelt and Motion Lotion. Each one with their own unique characteristics to enhance your workout.

I had the opportunity to try out the Coola Bra, Hooded Body Blazer, SveltMelt, and Motion Lotion.

The first thing I tried on was the Hooded Body Blazer. I’m someone who get cold really easy. I’m always sneaking the temp up in the house a couple degrees. You can also catch me in sweaters and sweatshirts at any given time throughout the fall and winter. It was chilly the day I received these items. When I threw the Hooded Body Blazer on, the chill was noticeably gone. I thought, wow if this warmed me up already I can only imagine how warm this would keep you during your workouts. I imagine you’d break a good sweat in this. I love how much coverage the Hooded Body Blazer has too. I’m 5′ 4” tall and have an average length torso. The blazer came down past my hips. It has some give too it which is good because they come in small, medium, large, and extra large. When I first tried it on I was actually 4 months pregnant and it accomodated my small baby bump and I had a medium.

On to the Coola Bra, I’ll be honest, typically I’m not a fan of sports bras. This is my personal opinion. I’m small chested and I don’t feel they are very flattering to my body. The Coola Bra however actually was comfortable and has the option of removable cups. I left the cups in of course and I felt this was the most flattering sports bra I’ve ever worn. The material used is a fast wicking material to help keep you cool and fresh. It also has an odor neutralizing mesh in the center of the bra. I received on in the color “fuscia pink” but it comes in 9 different colors so you can mix and match your workout gear.

Then for their new line of body creams. SveltMelt is a refreshing body contouring gel. This particular product, when massaged into the skin, can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. It has a patented encapsulation technology that is used to deliver caffeine and menthol throughout your workout. Caffeine is known to affect fat cells and encourage tissues drainage according to Zaggora’s site. Menthol is released immediately when applying to the skin along with it’s moisturizing affect to leave you feeling fresh throughout your workout. I can tell you that when I applied it to my upper arms I could definitely feel the cooling and even a little tingling sensation. Even stretch marks can be helped with this product with the peptides and extract of green bean that is supposed to help fade their appearance. Red Pepper extract is also used in this product and works like a liquid massage to increase skin’s circulation and collagen production.

Last but not least is the Motion Lotion. This products also contains caffeine, menthol, and green bean extract for the reasons listed in the SveltMelt but, in this product, Lupin seed extract helps collagen production for a restored appearance of firmness and elasticity. It also contains something I had not heard of myself before, Inca Inchi oil. It says it’s a rare Peruvian oil that contains Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. Perhaps that is one of the reasons for the high price on this product. Both of the body creams should be applied during your workout with your Zaggora workout clothing to enhance your workout and your skin.

I threw on my Zaggora flares that I have reviewed before and it matched my Coola Bra perfectly. I zipped up my jacket over “the bump”. These will be great to help me lose weight post baby and stay in shape while pregnant with my prenatal yoga and such. Honestly I wear the hooded body blazer quite frequently anyway just to keep me warm.

Holiday Guide: Up North Adventure Books by G.M. Moore

Tween boys, what on earth do you get them that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? They want video games, cell phones, laptops, etc. Maybe you’re trying to get them something to steer them away from the video games and the internet, like maybe a good book to read.

The Up North Adventure Series from G.M. Moore might be just the gift to get them reading over the winter instead parked in front of the tv. I’ll admit it, it’s not always easy to get my 10 year old to sit down and read a book. He surprised me when he bought 2 books with his own money at the school book fair the one day and sat down and read them. The topic was of interest to him. So I carefully pitched the idea of him reading the Up North Adventure Series to review for this Holiday Guide. When I read him the descriptions of the books he said “Yea that sounds pretty cool”.

Muskie Attack Ancient Elk Hunt Snakehead Invasion

The idea of the book series is that the main character (Corbett) has parents that are divorced and very busy. He ends up leaving the city life to go to the great outdoors to his uncle’s Wisconsin fishing resort over the summer. Corbett feels like there is no one that cares for him but finds out on the resort that he’s never really alone thanks to his uncle.

The day the books arrived my son started looking over them. He started with the Muskie Attack book. He sat right down at the dining room table and started reading. He finished the book in two days and started the next one. He was telling me about the books. He seemed really into it and seemed to really understand what was going on in them. My oldest son is an outdoorsy type so these books really appealed to him. He said the Ancient Elk Hunt was his favorite one be he liked them all.

After reading some of the books myself I was impressed with the way they were written. They really could hold a readers attention, even mine though I’m not the outdoorsy type. The characters personalities are developed throughout the book and you can feel the main character grow from beginning to end. In my opinion this book series would be appropriate from about 8 years old to about 12 depending on the child’s reading level. I would say it would even appeal to girls too because there’s a little bit of young crush going on in the book too.

As I was listening to the album I actually had to double check to see which song I was listening to at times. The raw played down version of the song sometimes sounds much different than the original versions. This isn’t a bad thing at all. I really liked the song “Confide in Me” to me I could hear the emotion that the album talks about between the song itself and the orchestra adding to it.

Geek Squad Tech Support Service from Best Buy review

I’ve been having an issue with my computer lately, err more than just lately for about 6 months I’d say. My PC would just shut down randomly for seemingly no reason. I’d get a blue screen and my computer would shut off. I first panicked and thought I must have picked up a virus somewhere. The problem was that nothing else seemed to be messed up. When my computer would restart it would show the DOS type screen and I’d have to manually start my computer. I did notice in that screen it said something about a driver.

When I’d get back on I’d get the “report this issue to microsoft” box. I did and it told me that my realtek network adapter was missing a driver and it gave me a link. A sigh of relief for me, oh I’ll just download this driver and it will be fine. I’d click the link for the driver and it would take me to a dead page. I thought I was just going to either have to give up my computer to a tech for a few days or live with it until I figured it out.

Enter GeekSquad.com . The service is only $199.99 for an entire year for their Geek Squad Tech support services. Think about that, only about $16.60 a month to always have someone there to help fix your computer when it’s sick. I was still worried that I was going to have to give my computer up but they were able to fix my computer remotely! Yup, the agent took over my computer remotely (with my permission of course) and went to work. All told, it took nearly 3 hours but my computer never had to leave my home and it’s working like new now. So I’m one happy blogger.

Here’s a screen shot of how the help started out. A simple chat box with me explaining my computer issue. They updated me when needed. I wasn’t really able to use my computer while they were working but that was ok. It was amazing to see them pulling up different things I didn’t even know I had on my computer. You also have the option to call them over the phone, take your device to the store, or have them come to your house. For me the online remote help is the most convenient. Ever try concentrating on something someone is saying with 3 boys running around the house?

Geek Squad tech support one year service plan covers up to three computer devices. That includes tablets and you didn’t even have to buy them at Best Buy. Also with the one year membership you get their internet security software, computer tune ups, software, hardware, and operating systems installation as well as troubleshooting. I’m very very happy with the Geek Squad tech support. The problem is fixed, the agents I dealt with were very kind and professional, my computer didn’t have to leave my site, it was all covered with the one year membership, and I have piece of mind knowing that they will be there for a whole year to help me.
