Natural Shea Sugar Body Scrub from Tree Hut review and giveaway

Tree Hut started in Farmers Branch, TX. The first product they made was a body butter with the idea that they wanted to make a great product that actually works. They value the feedback of their customers, that’s how they develop their products.

Tree Hut uses only natural ingredients like shea butter and coconut shells imported from the Polynesian Islands.

I had the opportunity to try one of their natural products. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub in Tropical Mango scent.

I love a good sugar scrub, especially in the winter time when my skin gets so dry and itchy. But it’s also great for the summer to slough off that dry or peeling skin. A good sugar scrub can make your skin feel smooth and soft. Personally, what I’ve found is that sugar scrubs can vary greatly. I’ve had some that look like a pile of course salt sitting in a half a container of body oils. Some are really oily, some are not. Some use big crystals of course salt while other use salt or another pumice ingredient. I really like the consistency of the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body scrub. It might be the thickest sugar scrub I’ve ever tried. You can feel that there is the oils in it but it doesn’t overwhelm the product like some scrubs do.

I’ve noticed with really oily scrubs that I end up with a layer of body oils at the bottom of my tub making it a slick surface when you’re in the shower, trying to get out, or unexpectedly getting in from the the last use. When I used this product I didn’t get the obvious oil slick in the tub like I had with other body scrubs.

I took a pic of the product in the jar. You can see the thicker consistency and notice that the oils are well blended into the product. Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub uses natural, good for your skin, oils like:

Safflower Seed oil which works as a deep moisturizer

Evening Primrose Oil which works as a skin rejuvenater and anti-aging ingredient

Sweet Almond Oil which improves skin’s texture and give your skin a lovely glow

Avocado Oil reduces sun damage and age spots and hydrates skin

Orange Oil that supports collagen production, detoxifies, and repairs sun damaged skin

Other than all these great natural oils, Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub uses pureed Mango and certified organic shea butter. It’s made in the USA, paraben free, and not tested on animals.

This product also smells amazing. When I take the lid off it smells like a fresh hut mango. A truly natural scent. You can also pic up a small hint of the orange oil in the product.

We frequently have get-togethers with the family at our house. Holidays, birthdays, events like the super bowl, cookouts, lots of stuff. I love to try to create a theme around the event. For my kids birthdays. maybe it’s their favorite character or cartoon. For my hubby, it’s usually something centered around football. We ended up having more than 8 people here so I would have liked to have a bigger set option available or perhaps I should have gotten two sets. All the items were of god quality though. The plates were plenty sturdy enough to hold up to the homemade pizza and cake. The cups were a nice size for everyone.

I think this is a nice set to have on hand because it could be used for an adult or child birthday or for any football get-together you have. Friends coming over to watch the game? There you go.

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends review and giveaway

I love Honey Bunches of Oats cereal. I also like that they keep adding flavors and variety. The newest flavor is Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends.

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends has mango flavored flakes along with crunchy coconut granola clusters. Typically I don’t like coconut. It’s the texture of coconut flakes not the flavor of coconut that I don’t like. I was a little leery since the granola clusters were coconut flavored and it had a sprinkling of dried coconut throughout the cereal. I have to admit though, the flavor was appealing and definitely different than my normal breakfast cereals.

I took a pic of my bowl of cereal. I’m holding one of the big granola clusters. You can see the flake of coconut sticking out of it. It was actually quite good. My 9 yr old was the only one who said he didn’t like it but he’s not a fan of mango and he has the same coconut texture aversion that I do. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it.

Dry Idea Advanced Dry Fresh review and giveaway

After having the opportunity to try Dry Idea brand antiperspirants and deodorants through the Purex Insiders program, I’ve become a frequent user of their products. They’re effective and affordable. The one thing I wanted was to see more scents available. What can I say, I like to smell pretty.

Magic Whiteboard use it anywhere

Magic Whiteboard products use static so they can be hung up just about anywhere for use at home, the office, or on the go. There is no need for tape, sticky tac, or anything like that. They are erasable usable products that work similarly to a dry erase board.

I went through a range of thoughts and feeling towards this product while I had the chance to review it. I received one of the Magic Whiteboard letter sheets. It’s 8.25 X 11.75 inches in size. When I opened my mailing box I pulled out what looked like a simple piece of slick white sheet plastic and a magic whiteboard marker. Initially the sheet seemed a bit flimsy to me. I was skeptical on how it was going to work. I first stuck it to the side of my china cupboard and tried to write something on it. It really did stick instantly without having to do anything.

So my next thought was, “yea ok but how long will it stay in place?” “Will the first time someone walks past briskly send it blowing off the side of the china cupboard?” It left it in place for a week. It never budged even with the traffic we have in our house. It stayed neatly in place even when I wrote on it. One thing though, I left the words “magic whiteboard” on the sheet all week as well. When I erased it, the letters were still visible and they were raised. This didn’t happen if the message was erased within a day or so. I used the marker that came with it so I’m not entirely sure why this happened.

I had hoped that maybe if I took it off and moved it it would straighten itself out. Unfortunately, it did not. It was a handy thing though and I decided to give it a try for another idea I had. See I work first shift and my hubby works 2nd. There is always someone home for the kids. I usually get the kids up so they get ready for school while I’m getting ready in the morning. Recently though, we’ve been having 2 hour delays because of cold temps and ice. I hated to go in and wake them up just to tell them they could go back to sleep for a while. They don’t usually sleep past 8:30 or 9 anyway. So I decided to try this on the inside of their bedroom door. I could write them a note so they knew they had a delay and what time to be ready. Even though my hubby’s home in the morning it saves him from having to get out of bed sooner or if he gets distracted with our youngest. It stuck well to the hard wood door even though it wasn’t completely flat.
