The weather is getting colder. We’ve already had some snow here in south central Pennsylvania. It’s not until the first nip in the air that I start thinking things like “Boy I hope the kids have gloves that fit” and this year it was “Oh I need to get some cute accessories for baby girl for the winter” BeltOutlet.com has all that and then some. So ok back to baby girl, I have 3 boys and had my baby girl this past spring. Sure I can hand down the boys things to her but come on, this is my first girl after three boys. I’m all about pink, and glitter, and cutesy. BeltOutlet.com had the cutest little hat and mitten set for babies. I chose BeltOutlet newborn hat/mitten set in the pink cat set for my daughter. I couldn’t wait to try it out on her.

Ok is that not cute or what? The hat and mitten set is listed on the site as newborn sets but I’ll tell you the truth my daughter is 7 months old and it was a bit big on her. The elastic brim fit snug on her head but there is still some room to grow into the hat. That’s not a complaint, kids grow fast but if you’re hoping for it to fit a newborn, just warning you, it’s gonna be big. The hat and gloves are a nice quality. The hat is thick, definitely not cheaply made. They also have this set available in black and white cow, black and white leopard, and the color looks to be a tan dog.

This would be a really nice add on gift to a child’s present or a great stocking stuffer. This is a nice set to grab at only $8.95 currently on their site.

Another thing that always seems to be a popular gift around the holidays is comfy pajamas. I personally love a nice warm pair of pajama pants in the winter. I’m always cold. BeltOutlet.com has plenty of options for adult sleepwear. Flannels, cotton tees, shorts, nightshirts, whatever makes you comfortable.

I received the Boxercraft Tie Cord Flannel PJ Pants for women. These are soft and comfortable. I love the colors too. You can get them in purple plaid or blue plaid for us ladies. It was a tough choice but I ended up going for the blue plaid.

Don’t you just love the color? These on sale on their site for $21.95 right now. Initially when I tried them on I thought I messed up and got a size too big. But then I put it through the washer and dryer. That solved my issue. The did shrink up a bit after the wash. They are 100% cotton. They are made to have a roomy fit. Sugar Free Baking for the Holidays (But They Won’t Know)

It’s that time of year. The time of year where we have treats, feasts, and confections everywhere. Most of us will indulge a little (or maybe a lot) and regret it later. Yet for me, it just doesn’t seem like Christmas if there isn’t holiday cookies in the oven, or the kids aren’t helping me bake. This year we’re trying something different. No we’re not giving up the cookies, we’re giving up the sugar. I know what you’re thinking, what’s the point of cookies without sugar? Well we’re using a great sugar substitute for NuNaturals.

NuNaturals has everything you need to make your holiday baking sugar free and healthier with things like fiber and yummy flavors. I received a plethora of product from NuNaturals to try. For me to review everything I received in one post, I just didn’t think it would do it justice. There were so many things with so many different ideas. NuNaturals also has lots of recipes to try on their site if you’re not quite sure how to use the products or you just want ideas.

Some of the products I received included oat fiber and NuStevia baking blend.

I’m already a fan of the NuStevia MoreFiber Sweetener Baking Blend but had never tried the NuNaturals NuGrains Oat Fiber. The Oat Fiber lets you add fiber to any of your holiday baking from cookies, to cakes, to rolls. Simply add in 3 tablespoons of oat fiber for every 8 servings. So if your recipe makes 24 cookies and a serving size is 3 cookies then you need 3 tablespoons of oat fiber. The NuStevia baking blend is a great substitute for the sugar in your recipes.

I tried the Chocolate Chip Pan Cookies recipe on the NuNaturals site. I’ll be honest, to me the recipe seemed like it was missing something like maybe milk or water because the bars turned out very dry and crumbly. BUT, they still tasted good. My 4 year old just loved these. Every day he’d say “mommy can I have a cookie” and I’d give him a little bar with some milk. Even my oldest son who is a bit picky had a couple of these bars.

I used holiday chocolate chips. Even if this recipe just isn’t your cup of tea, there’s lots of other recipes on the site for cookies, pies, cakes, breads, and more for your holiday spread.

Educational Gift for Baby: Talking Farm From CPToys.com

There are so many toys available for babies of all ages. There are so many different ways to choose the right toys: from their educational value, motor skills level, age appropriateness, and sensory aspects. My daughter is currently 7 months old. She’ll be 9 months old the day after Christmas. She is not sitting up on her own but she’s army crawling. She loves things that light up and she seems to like the cause and effect of pushing a button and seeing/hearing something happen. I’m trying to work on her sitting skills as well.

At CPToys.com you can search through their selection in a number of different ways. You can search by keyword, age appropriate/grade appropriate, price, and category of toys. I found the chicco Talking Farm on their site which is listed for 12 months and over. I liked the idea of the Talking Farm though because it lights up, it has lots of buttons to push that create different sounds and are educational. It’s also a bilingual toy which has modes for both English and Spanish.

The one we got is set up a little bit different than the example picture on CPToys.com. There are 4 different game modes. One is where they can just press the button and it tells them what theyare pushing “orange cat” and makes the animal sound when pressing the animals, “1”, so on and so forth. Game mode 2 asks you to listen to the animal sound then find the animal that matches the sound. When they find the correct one it tells them they’re right and reinforces the color and animal. If wrong it says “uh oh this is the…” whatever animal they pushed then asked them again to find the correct animal. Game mode 3 asks questions without the animal sound for example “find the white sheep”, “find the red rooster”. Then there is a music button so they can listen to music and it changes every time they hit the note. I also mentioned that it is bilingual. You can switch it to Spanish and play the same games in Spanish.

There are plenty of aspects I like about this toy. I like that everything is connected and there are no small parts. It has a built in handle that makes it easy to carry. The buttons are big and easy for baby to push. As your child gets better with one game mode you can change it to another game mode to keep them learning and engaged. Even my 4 year old son enjoyed playing with this toy. We made a video to show all the features and modes of this toy. It’s a little longer than my normal review video but I wanted to make sure I demonstrated all the different aspects.

The chicco Talking Farm is available on CPToys.com for $45.99. For a toy that does so much I think the price is worth it. Halloween was just yesterday but people are already moving on to the next holiday, Thanksgiving. We’ll be planning our Thanksgiving dinners, starting Christmas shopping (if you haven’t already), and decorating. What plans do you have for Thanksgiving? For us it’s always about family. We take turns having it at each others houses in the family. This year is the first Thanksgiving in my sister is having in her new house with her new husband so she wanted to do Thanksgiving this year. Fine by me, I have a 7 month old and 3 other children. I’m usually appointed to bring the pies.
