You Can Only Get This Cheese In November And It Sells Out Quickly!

Please Share

Cheese is a staple in our house all year long.  Cheese as a snack, cheese as a topping, cheese as an appetizer.  Cheese is so versatile.  And I get to eat it on a keto diet! I also like to have cheese on hand during the holidays for parties and unexpected guests.  Cheese, cracker and fruit plates can be put together for guests and usually go over well.

Did you know there is one cheese though that you can only buy in November.  If you don’t jump on it when it’s available there’s a good chance you’ll miss out on it. This cheese is also only crafted by world-renowned cheese luminary, Andy Hatch from May to October and is only available in November!   The cheese I’m talking about is the  Uplands Cheese Rush Creek Reserve.

So why is this cheese only available in November?

Hearkening back to the grand tradition of Alpine cheeses, this cheese is only crafted from May through October, while the farm’s cows are eating fresh pasture. Its deep, beeswax-yellow paste, savory protein crystals, and slow, pineapple-sweet finish are unanimously beloved.

What’s the best way to enjoy this cheese?

  • For optimal texture and flavorRush Creek Reserve is best served warm via a quick bake in the oven at 200°F for 15 minutes — or leave out at room temp for two hours.
  • It can be scooped out with a spoon to be enjoyed on its own— or drizzled atop toasted bread, roasted potatoes, vegetables (you name it!)
  • The distinct flavors in the Wisconsin specialty cheese also complement figs and braised meats while pairing well with a dry white wine, such as Josh Cellars Sauvignon Blanc for ultimate enjoyment.

This would be great to have on hand for a Thanksgiving appetizers, Christmas refreshments, or your New Year party!  This cheese sounds amazing and something special to have for the holidays/

Master cheesemaker Andy Hatch is also known for his rich and hearty Pleasant Ridge Reserve, only made in the summer months – fun fact, it’s also the most awarded cheese in American history. The complex and distinctive flavors Andy develops really represents Wisconsin’s artisanal cheeses, making both Rush Creek Reserve and Pleasant Ridge Reserve some of the best and most celebrated cheeses around the world.
