Review: Whirl-A-Style

As I’ve mentioned in a few of my hair related post, I can’t do anything with my hair. I’m honestly, lucky if I can get my hair into a straight pony tail. I like my hair long but working in a hospital requires me to put my hair up. (You never know what your hair might get into, yuck).

I was granted the opportunity to review “Whirl-A-Style“.   There are different sizes of the Whirl-A-Style depending on your hair length, to help you create the perfect bun and other cool hair styles.

One of the reasons I get so frustrated with my hair is that nothing seems to want to stay in it.  My hair is straight and thick.  Hair bands, head bands without teeth, clips, etc all seem to just slide right out of my hair.  Curls never stay even with hair spray.  I loved the fact that the “Whirl-A-Style” is made with a flexible rubber.  It has an easy to use pop in snap that’s easy to fasten without seeing it.

I used it to put my hair up for work.  This was my first attempt at using the Whirl-A-Style and as I mentioned my hair styling skills are minimal at best.

I know it’s not the best job I could have done.  I think perhaps I should have done with a smaller “Whirl-A-Style” The problem I ran into was that, the last time I had my hair cut, I did one of those hair cuts where it’s shorter in the back and long and angled toward the front.  What I can say is that my hair stayed up all day at work.  It didn’t even slip a little bit.  It was very easy to use.

I had my friend try it then.  Her hair is much longer than mine.  I wanted to see how it would like using the Whirl-A-Style I received on a more appropriate hair length.  Her’s turned out much cuter.

Review Summary:  The Whirl-A-Style works great if you ensure you buy the correct size.  I love the fact that it’s made of flexible rubber.  It keeps it from slipping and is also comfortable to wear.

You can purchase them on the Whirl-A-Style website OR locate a store near you.

You can also find them on amazon.com

Angelicare Spider Vein Treatment System Review

I received the Angelicare Spider Vein Treatment System to review. I was really excited about this. Since highschool (I blame it on the waitressing job) I developed spider veins on my outer left thigh.

I never really thought there was anything I could do about it short of laser treatments.  I really didn’t want to go through that or could I afford to do it.  So I live with them, ugly as they are.

The Angelicare Spider Vein Treatment System was developed by an Assisted Living Home Administrator that used it on herself.  They had tried laser and saline treatments, but they just didn’t work.  The Angelicare developer noticed that spider veins occured on parts of the body that received little activity and wondered if the skin may be thinner in those particular areas.  Running off of that theory, they developed a cream that had every vitamin and antioxidant that nourished skin.

The Angelicare Spider Vein Treatment System I received contained a Angelicare Stimulator, two containers of the Angelicare Ultra Nutricreme, instructions, and a booklet on supplementation.

The use is pretty simple.  Apply a small amount of the cream to the affected area.  Use the Angelicare Stimulator on affected area for several minutes.  Then after massage reapply another small amount of cream to the area.  This process should be done twice a day.  They recommend hand massage the area a few times throughout the day and towel therapy after showers as well.

I’ve only been using the product for a little over two weeks. The developer states that the time frame for results will vary.  The developer said it took 4 months to eliminate facial veins and is still working on leg veins but they are much lighter since starting the system.  In the two weeks that I’ve been trying the system I can’t say that I’ve noticed a difference yet.  This company requested the review within 2 weeks of using.  I plan on continuing with the system.  It’s easy to use and actually feels rather good to use.  The Angelicare stimulator has heat settings and massage level settings.  There is no pain involved in the system.  It’s kind of like a nice massage.

If I notice any results in the next few months I will update this post.

If you want to try the Angelicare Spider Vein Treament System for yourself you can purchase it here:
http://www.inventhelpstore.com/or call 1-800-851-6030 for orders.

This Product Was a Free Giveaway

***I received the Angelicare Spider Vein Treatment System at no cost in order to complete a review of the system.  I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post.  Any opinions expressed are my own.***

Need a blog button? try ibanner

When I first started to get serious with my blog, I knew that having a shareable blog button was important to start getting my name out there and building my “brand”. I had little to no knowledge on how to do it. Then Andrea from http://ibanners.webs.com/ offered her services and created my shareable blog button that matches my blog theme.

Then when I did my Bonanzle event I wanted a button made for the event.  I still didn’t know how to do it.  I recruited Andrea from http://ibanners.webs.com/ again.  Not only did she create a button but she made several so that I could choose which one(s) I wanted to use. ibanner’s prices are very reasonable.

I’ve since learned how to create buttons but it does take time which I don’t always have.  I will continue to use http://ibanners.webs.com/  for my button needs.

ibanner isn’t just buttons though.  She can create banners, “your ad here” spots and more.  So if you’re in need of a button, badge, or banner try http://ibanners.webs.com/ first.

GLEE Make Your Own Chocolate kit review and giveaway—CLOSED

I love finding new and creative projects to do with my boys. Especially with the colder months coming up.  When GLEE Gum asked me if I would like to review one of their “Make Your Own” kits I was more than happy to.  I chose to review the Make Your Own Chocolate Kit.  This kit came complete with all the items you need to make the chocolate including all the ingredients, candy wrappers, and a sticker thermometer.  They even have 2 real cacao beans for you to try in the kit.

The only thing it didn’t come with was the tsp of vanilla for added flavor but it’s optional.

My boys were so excited to try to make their own chocolate from scratch.  I have to admit I was curious too.  The directions were easy to follow.  My boys were able to do a lot of the steps.

There is a point where you have to wait for about 10 min for the chocolate mixture to cool.  In that time I read some of the fun facts packet of info that was included in the kit.  Like where cacao beans come from and more.  I also had the boys taste the cacao beans that came with the kit.

Um…the cacao beans aren’t so tasty before they are chocolate.  You can see my older son in the back already snearing at the bean.  I tasted it too.  Let’s just say it doesn’t taste like chocolate.

We added peanut butter 1/2 of  ours.  You can add other items if you want.  The chocolate turned out very sweet.  It didn’t last very long in our house.

The boys are already asking about trying out another kit.  GLEE has three available:

Available in Make Your Own Chocolate, Make Your Own Chewing Gum, and Make Your Own Gummies, these activity kits are all-natural, educational, and eco-friendly. With pre-packaged ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, everyone aged 8 and up gets a real kick out of making candy from scratch. Focusing on the history behind and the origin of these candies, each kit is designed to captivate your interest, connect you to the global community, and create something yummy to eat in the process!
