Antioxidant Berry Masque from Lady Soma: review

Lady Soma offers a line of health and beauty products that are made with natural and healthy ingredients. They only use high quality and high potency ingredients in all their products.

This includes the Antioxidant Berry Masque I tried from LadySoma.com.  The Antioxidant berry masque is made with blueberries, cranberries, and pomegranate.  This team of berries make up free radical fighting antioxidant complex that contains vitamins A, C, and Amino Acids.

The glycolic and alpha lipoic acids create a microderm like effect that removes dead skin cells and reveals the healthy layer of skin.

When I first opened the container the sweet scent of berries was lovely.  It smelled just like a berry smoothie.  In the container it almost looked like a berry smoothie too.

It had a lavender tinge to it.  It was the consistency of a body souffle or whipped body butter.  You could actually see all the pulverized berry seeds in the mixture.  I applied it to my skin.  Within 1 min I could feel it tingling on my skin.  I’m guessing this was the microderm effect from the glycolic and alpha lipoic acids.  When I removed the masque after the recommended 8 minutes my cheeks were a bit rosy but my skin felt amazing.  They recommend following up with a serum like their Lady Soma renewal serum or a moisturizer.  I tried the sample of the serum I received too.  The serum was clear with a soft gel like consistency.  It calmed my skin down pretty quickly.
This masque smelled so good on my face.  I kept thinking about berry smoothies and wildberry pie.  Had I needed to leave it on much longer I may have decided to lick it off lol.
This masque was a nice treat for my skin.  At a price f $32.99 per 4 oz jar though, it is a might expensive.  You get free shipping from LadySoma.com for orders over $50.

Costumes are fun to have around any time of the year.  Especially for your children.  It’s funny how a simple hat can turn my son into a police officer or how a toy sword can make him believe he’s a knight.   My toddler does this all the time.  Actually even my older elementrary school age boys still do this.  It’s great to see their imaginations at work and funny to see what they’ll come up with next.

My toddler loves to watch a newer cartoon out called “Mike the Knight” made for toddler and pre-school age children.  He grabbed one of my vacuum attachments one day and said “Mom a fight” and handed me another attachment.  We were dueling in no time.  Anything I can do to have my children use their imaginations and get active is great.

When I saw this costume on AnytimeCostumes.com I just had to get it.

I was really impressed with the way the costume was made.  The sleeves look like chain maille but are actually a shiny silver and stretchy mesh.  The front of the costume is a shiny silver, sort of vinyl like material.  The dragon adornment on the front is actually attached well to the chest area and is secured well.  The shoulders actually attach with velcro so they can be left off if you’re little one doesn’t like them.  The helmets face mask moves and actually comes down to the cover the face.  My toddler didn’t particularly like the face mask down and wouldn’t hold the pose long enough for me to snap a decent picture.  The costumes itself is one piece and velcros from about the waist up in the back.

The little dagger in his hand is a plastic one that came with one of my older boys’ action figures.  It did not come with the costume.

This costume is called “Toddler Knight of the Dragon” and is actually on clearance on the site right now for only $29.99 (org. $45).

I received my toddler’s costume in the mail very quickly.  My toddler has been asking to put on his costume at least once a day since we received it.  This costume was well worth it and so cool looking on him.

AnytimeCostumes.com offers free shipping on orders over $39.99 and flat rate shipping of $4.99 for all orders under $39.99.

Doodle Roll Giveaway: Help Doodle Roll "Get on the Shelf"

Some of you might remember that I did a review for Doodle Rolls back in the beginning of December.

Doodle Rolls are convenient activities to take with you on the go or great for rainy day activities.  Doodle rolls come in a convenient clamshell-like container.  It includes generous roll of paper and a nice storage area for the crayons it comes with.  Kids can create banners, murals, play games and much more.  If you have a child that tends to waste paper or take more than they should you can tear off sheets when they want them.  I do this for my toddler as my toddler would simply try to unroll the whole thing at one time.

Here’s one cute idea, use your Doodle Roll as a to do list for yourself or your kids.  Doodle rolls pack easily and would be great for car trips too.
Right now, Doodle Roll is in a competition called “Get on the Shelf” where they have an opportunity to get on Walmart’s shelves for all of us to enjoy but they need our help by voting.  You can vote daily though facebook and/or text at:  http://www.getontheshelf.com/product/1288/Doodle-Roll
You can also find Doodle Roll on facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/DoodleRoll

BEWARE of the site PureBloggers!

I felt the need to write this post because of my own experience.   I had received a number of email from bloggers  that I know, to sign up for PureBloggers (dot) com.  I don’t want to spell it out because I want you to avoid it at all costs. Seeing, what seemed like, so many other bloggers signing up for the site I decided to join myself.

In reality, I’m sorry to say, that I think it’s a spam site.  I wrote it off at first as being another new blog community.  My first red flag was that when I started filling out my profile it has an optional space to fill out your paypal email with no explanation as to why.  Thankfully I did not fill this out and had only filled out minimal info in my profile.  My second red flag was the poor grammar and spelling throughout the site.  This includes sections like the “about” section and other areas.

Since I signed up for the site, I noticed an increase in the amount of spam comments I was having to block on my blog.  Even after signing up I was hit with tons of emails and DMs on twitter to join PureBloggers.

Then, the kicker.  When I decided it was definitely a spam site I tried to figure out if there was a way to delete my account.  No option to delete your account, the FAQ section is a joke and does not tell you how to delete your account.

I deleted any and all info from my profile.  If you receive an email from me to join that site it’s spam.  You should avoid PureBloggers (dot) com!

Feel free to share this post with your readers as well.

***UPDATE****  I received a comment below about how to delete the account.  I did not see this option when I originally tried to delete my account.  I tried it, I think I deleted my account but I’m not sure.  I think it’s also fair to note that I also had to block 3 spam comments on this post already just since writing this post this morning.
