Fellowes Palm Supports a Shoplet Review #shopletreviews

Shoplet.com offers a wide range of office supplies for the home and for the large business.  Don’t forget that if you shop through the shoplet.com badge here and you’re a first time customer, you’ll receive 10% off your order.

So what kinds of office supplies can you expect to find on Shoplet.com.  You can find office supplies from Fellowes like a comfy wrist rest and keyboard pad to make your work (and leisure) at the computer a whole lot more comfortable.

I had the chance to review an example of each of these products.

The Fellowes Memory Foam Gliding Palm Support with Mouse Pad is a nice addition to your desk.  I’ve actually never personally seen one quite like this.  It has little string attachments that stick onto the mouse. I wasn’t to sure if I’d like this feature but it was pretty nice.  The palm support glides smoothly with your mouse so you don’t have to reposition your wrist.  It didn’t get in the way at all.  The palm support slide nicely on the provided mouse pad.  Both the palm support and the mouse pad have microban which offers antibacterial protection.

At a cost of only $14.05 on Shoplet’s website I think this set is a good deal.  My husband has a wrist support on his computer but it does not attach to the mouse.  I normally have to reposition my wrist a few times when I need to use his computer.
Then there is the Fellowes Memory Foam Keyboard Palm Support.  This one has a very nice design.  It’s quite comfortable to wrest your palms on while your type.

Here’s the issue for me with this one though.  I would absolutely use this product all the time if for not this one problem.  I don’t know if you can tell but where my keyboard is, it’s a slide out shelf.  The shelf is not a whole lot bigger than my keyboard.  Can I fit the wrist support in front of my keyboard.  Well you can see from the picture that I can.  The draw is pulled the whole way out in this picture.  You can tell that the top 2 rows of keys are still under the desk top with the wrist support in place.  I tried typing anyway just to see if it would work.  Unfortunately It was very difficult.  Any time I had to use the numbers, F keys, or even the top row of letters I’d bump my knuckles on the desk top.  So I can’t use it unfortunately.  If my drawer pulled out further or I had a wide flat desk that my keyboard at on, it would work well .  This wrist support also has the microban protection.

This one has a cost of $14.44 on the site  Just check to make sure the space you want it is wide enough to place it and still be able to type.  To be fair, with the minimal real estate I have available on my keyboard shelf, I don’t know that any wrist support would work.  This one is actually not that wide.

Free Piano Lessons for Kids online

I was contacted by a nice guy named Joseph Hoffman.  He offers a really cool free service.  He is the creator and instructor of FreePianoLessons4Kids.com.

Learning to play an instrument and read music is definitely a wonderful skill to have.  It’s also been said that kids that learn to play instruments also do better in subjects like reading.  Unfortunately I never learned how to play music.  I often thought, if I did ever learn, I’d love to learn to play either the piano or the guitar.

I have no idea how to read music.  I look at sheet music and think, how on earth does anyone know how to read this and be able to flow smoothly though a whole song?  I took the opportunity to download the very first lesson Joseph offers on FreePianoLessons4Kids.com.  I started reading through.  Though the lessons are advertised for kids I think it’s fantastic for someone like me, an adult who has no clue how to even start.

The very first lesson gave me a easy to understand start on how to read music.  The very first lessons goes through the basics that anyone would need to know.  With an easy to understand explanation of the black and white keys, the staff, a starting point for note sounds, examples, and some activities to try.  I’m super excited about this.  I really feel like even as an adult, I could learn to start playing with his lessons.

All the lessons are completely free.  If you like the lessons you can purchase printable materials that reinforce and supplement each lesson.  If you don’t want to purchase them, you’re still free to watch the lessons.  If you do purchase supplementary material you also get a piano listening album and a parent’s guide.

Piano Lessons can be expensive.  Then trying to find time to schedule them can be hard.  This is a great way to save money and learn on your time.

You can also find FreePianoLessson4Kids.com on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/FreePiano

I think this is an awesome service that Joseph is providing.  If you’ve been thinking about piano lessons for your kids (or even yourself) this site might help you to save a lot of money!

Shabby Apple dress giveaway!

I did a post recently about a dress I picked out from Shabby Apple to wear to a July wedding.  Why did I turn to Shabby Apple?  First of all, I think they have beautiful clothing and jewelry.  I know that if I purchase something from Shabby Apple, it’s going to be well made, and something I’ll feel comfortable in.  In my opinion their clothing is classy, feminine, and beautiful without being too revealing.  Probably my favorite items to look at on ShabbyApple.com is their selection of women’s dresses.

Here is a picture of me in the Shabby Apple dress I decided on for the July wedding I’m attending

This dress in particular is called “The Red Queen” available in the Mad Hatter collection.  I love the way it fits.  It has a lace overlay over the dress.  Light weight and comfortable.  I’m also wearing a necklace from Shabby Apple called “The Key to Wonderland” available under the jewelry tab on their site.
I would recommend Shabby Apple to anyone in need of a dress for an event, date, or even everyday.
