Being a mom of 3 school age, active kids, working outside of my home, and running this blog organization is the key to me not messing up big time. You know like taking my 10 yr old to a soccer game only to find out the game is tomorrow or not missing a deadline for a sponsored assignment. I started using a business planner every year. So does my hubby. I can take my planner with me if I have to. I keep track of the boys’ practices, games, school events, blogging assignments, work meetings, dr. appt, well you get the idea. Really it’s my long term memory made out of paper.

I received this House of Doolittle Recycled weekly business planner from Shoplet.com. This is perfect for what I need and is similar to the planner I had last year. I’m already starting to fill it up. You might be able to see from the top picture that every two pages is a week. There are blocks for each day with time slots in them. This is great for marking soccer games, wrestling meets, dr. appointments, etc. There is also an expense record at the bottom of each week. So if you are using it for business you can keep track of your weekly parking expenses, gas, etc. Heck this would be great for a family budget as well. The only thing I wish it has was a small not section for each week so I could write things down like RSVP for party next week, etc.

For more immediate and easy to find access while at your desk, the House of Doolittle desk calendar comes in handy.

This is a nice size calendar great for a home office or small desk. The size is 18.5″ x 13″. This is also made of recycled materials and made in the USA. It uses soy ink as well. I have a desk calendar that the hospital provides me for my desk at work but I used this one for my home office. To tell you the truth I like this one better. I like the size better and I love that it has an abundant note area on the side. I’m a note person. I have to write almost everything down. Having it right at my desk makes it easy for me to glance down and check what my deadlines are, my pay days, and not to forget the kids might have a dentist appointment next week. This 2014 calendar is a 12 month calendar. It has little pockets on the corner to hold the current month down so the calendar isn’t crinkling every time you brush your arm over it or if you have a fan blowing. A watch can be a great gift if you know the receivers style. I personally love a watch that I can wear daily and will match almost anything I wear. JORD wood watches make giving a great watch for Valentine’s day easy. Wood watches from JORD use natural wood and wood colors to take the look of watches back to nature. I was excited to have the opportunity to test our a JORD wood watch myself. I chose the Ely which is a unisex maple watch. This one is a great every day watch and fits my standard of being able to match a number of outfits.

This watch had a chunkier face than I initially anticipated but it’s very easy to read and eye catching. It also has a small date window you can see on the right by the 3 marker. You can easily set the time and date by pulling the pin on the side of the watch. The watch has a pin and screw for the links to adjust the size. I did have a little bit of a time trying to adjust the size myself. I was able to get some of the links out to adjust but I still needed more because I have a small wrist. I like my watch to be snug and that usually means a 6 inch or 6.5 inch measurement for me. I tried to get the screw and pin out of the other links but the screws kept spinning. I ended up needing to take it to a jeweler to finish the sizing. The jeweler didn’t charge me much though and it was worth it to have the watch fit well.

When I contacted JORD by using their live chat feature on their website they did tell me that on occasion because the watches are made of natural wood, sometimes the wood will get in the way of the screws or on a rare occasion will have a defective screw. Again the jewelry was able to adjust it for me with little effort and a few dollars.

As a tip from me, when adjusting yourself you have to hold one side steady and the other side you need to twist the screw. If you just try to unscrew the screw the other side spins with it. One side is a pin and one is a screw, it’s hard to tell which. I rigged my own set up to take it out so I could hold one side steady without ruining my watch.

I used duck tape to hold down one small phillips head screwdriver and used another small screw driver on the other side. Hey it worked!

Another feature I liked about this watch is that the clasp is pretty simple to clasp and unclasp. The watch is light weight. My son was eyeing up the watch. He said “Hey this would fit me, can I have it?” Lol it would look nice on him. I don’t know, I rather liked it once it was sized. Maybe I’ll let him borrow it once in a while 🙂

There’s a lot of talk about GMOs the last year or so. I’m not the expert but I’ve been reading some about it. GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organisms. There are some brands that are making changes and going non-gmo. There are other brands that are all natural to begin with like GLEE Gum. No joke, this was the most realistic watermelon flavor I’ve personally tried in a gum or candy. A very natural watermelon flavor. My boys said they liked it as well.

I like being able to look at the ingredients list on a package and understand what I’m putting into my body. I like seeing “natural fruit and vegetable juices for color”, “xylitol”, etc. My only complaint is that the flavor doesn’t last a very long time but given the taste of the gum and the other natural benefits I can overlook that part. Rogers Family Coffee Review

I’m a coffee lover. I usually have at least one cup a day. More often than not I have about 2 or 3 cups a day. My hubby loves coffee too. I’ve tried lots of different kinds but before this review I had never tried Rogers Family Coffee.

For this Rogers Family Coffee Review I was lucky enough to try 4 different flavors of the Black Mountain Gold Premium Gourmet Coffee. I received this coffee in Cinnamon Crumb Cake, Southern Pecan, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut Creme. All of them sounded delicious to me so it was hard to decide which one to try first. Hubby wanted to try the Cinnamon Crumb Cake so that’s what we did. I actually used my reusable K-cup to make an individual cup of this flavor first to see how it would turn out.

In the bag, it only smelled like coffee to me. I couldn’t pick up any of the flavors scents. When it started brewing though, oh my goodness. It smelled wonderful. My 10 yr old son came down from upstairs and said “What smells so good?” He told me he thought I was baking something. My oldest son said it smelled good and asked me when he was allowed to start drinking coffee.

The next day my husband brewed a big pot of the Southern Pecan flavor. The scent wasn’t as aromatic as the Cinnamon Crumb Cake but we loved the flavor . All of these coffees were a regular roast and brewed beautifully in both the 12 cup pot and my Keurig mini.

I wanted to tell you a little bit about Rogers Family Coffee because I think it’s interesting to know what they are doing as a company. Through all their brands, including the Black Mountain Gold reviewed here, they use sustainable and organic coffee. Rogers Family Coffee is 100% family owned. They use fair and direct trade coffee. They farm on shade grown farms and their own organic farms. Through their Community Aid program they give up to 1 million dollars each year so they can improve education, health, housing, and sanitation on every one of their farms. This is what I like, a company that cares about their workers.

If your significant other is a coffee drinker this could be an affordable idea order a bag or two of this tasty gourmet coffee along with 2 coffee mugs and maybe some biscotti or coffee cake (homemade would really impress). Make it into a basket. Give it to your love in person in person and make a coffee date at home. If you want to go the extra mile you can even decorate a table like a cafe. If you have kids I’m sure the kids would love to play a little server for your homemade coffee date!

Brilliant Love Heart Lip Care 3 Step System

I have no idea why but my lips get dry flaky skin, especially in the winter time but if I’m being honest, it’s really all the time. It drives me crazy. I try lip balms, lotions, lipstick, whatever it takes to quench my lips. Most of them are just temporary fixes. I’ve been married for soon to be 6 years and I’ve been with my husband for almost 9 years as a couple. My husband kisses me all the time but I get self conscious sometimes when my lips are so dry.

Brilliant Love Heart Lip Care 3 Step System is a unique lip care system that I had the opportunity to try.

I’ve used lip care systems before but never a 3 step one. I really didn’t know what to expect or how it might be better. Step 1 of the system is a dead skin cell remover with “low irritation” as per the manufacturer description. It’s kind of like a lip mask/exfoliant. You rub it on over your lips for 1-2 min then take it off with warm water. It is white and feels kind of funny on your lips.

After you remove step 1 you move onto step 2. This part was the weirdest yet most relaxing part of the process in my opinion. Step is a lip gel patch that contains a moisturizer. It kind of reminds me of a thin jello jiggler cut out. It’s actually shaped in the design of a pair of lips. It’s much bigger than my lips and kind of sticks to your face. It felt totally weird at first and looked even weirder.

You’re supposed to leave this on for 15-20 minutes. After the initial weirdness of it it actually started to feel really nice on my lips. It had a pleasant light melon type scent. You can’t really talk with this on and I was trying to avoid my kids or husband seeing me because I know they’d be trying to ask me questions about it and I’d have to take it off to answer them. Also if you’re standing up it does slide a little bit. It worked better if I laid down. The scent was quite relaxing it it felt luxurious on my lips. After removing this part was the last step. Step 3 is a lip tint with essence, high moisture and supposed to leave your lips energized.

The end result for me was that it made my lips feel fantastic . The hadn’t felt that soft in a long time. The process is a little strange but it works and it does feel nice.
