Zubels Petit Pomme Dress Review

I received the below mentioned dress at no cost in order to complete an honest review. Any opinions expressed are my own.

I love dressing my little ones.  Babies and toddlers, they really don’t care what they wear as long as their comfortable.  As a mom though, I want my little ones to be comfortable and look cute in their little outfits.  Ok so babies and toddlers are cute no matter what but don’t you just love seeing the little outfits that you buy on them. You don’t even need to spend a lot of money.

I LOVE the smock style clothes So many cute colors, styles, and possibilities.  Zubels has their own line of cute smock style clothing called Petit Pomme.  I was pouring over all the super cute styles for the little ones.  I was thinking, “oh I’d love to get my daughter this one and that one…”  I had an opportunity to review a dress for my daughter called the Three Bunny Blue Dress.

The  material of the dress is 60% cotton and 40% polyester.  It felt soft and was a billowy dress.  I had bought a size bigger.  My daughter is currently in 24 months but some 2T clothing so  I went ahead and requested the dress in size 2T.  It was a bit long but that’s ok. I’m one that would rather clothes be a little too big than too small to ensure my children will get some wear out of it.  I couldn’t wait to put this dress on her.

Normally my daughter is quite the little ham bone when I take the camera out but this time she wasn’t feeling the pictures.  But I still got some pretty cute shots of her in the dress considering.

She looked so cute in her Petit Pomme dress.  I followed my daughter around the house like the momarazzi trying to get pics of her.  She was not having it.  I got one more shot of her settled into my husband’s recliner. I totally missed a super cute picture of her coming down the stairs holding a teddy bear.

This will be the perfect dress for spring Easter egg hunts, visits with the Easter bunny, or anything spring really.  Check out Petit Pomme for the super cute clothes for both boys and girls – infant to toddler size 4.  My only cons for this dress is that the first day she wore it one of the buttons on the back fell off but buttons are easy to fix so I did.  Also the dress is made in the Philippines, for me I like buying American made when possible.  The rest of the stitching seemed to be done well, the embroidery on the dress was cute.

Zax’s Original Creams Review and Sweepstakes

I received the below mentioned products in order to complete an honest review.  Any opinions expressed are my own

I’ve seen Zax Original Creams products come across my path before but I had never them until this review.  I think the thing that interested me most about trying Zax’s products is the fact that they were developed by a pharmacists AND all natural.  I wondered if an all natural cream would really work and how much (if at all) it would work. I chose to review the Zax’s Original Darkspot cream and Zax’s Original Dark Circle eye cream

Blog 004

I received these products the very end of November.  I was to use them for several weeks as indicated on the use instructions.  I was eager to try them hoping they’d show some improvement.   To be fair I don’t have painfully obvious dark circles.  I have some darker areas below my eyes that are more obvious when I’m overly tired.  I thought if the eye cream could even help perk my eyes up a little it would be worth it for me. For the darkspot cream.  I had several areas I wanted to try it on.  I decided to try it on an out of place spot near my jaw.  I took some before pics without make up on so you can get an idea what I was starting with.  These were taken The very beginning of December.

zax products before

In my opinions, the dark circle eye cream was the perfect consistency to apply it wasn’t too thick so you didn’t have to work it in.  Eye are is delicate so you don’t want to be stretching and pulling that area.  It had a cooling feeling when applied which could be do to the cucumber extract or even the witch hazel in the product.  There was no noticable scent to it and the cream is white.

The Darkspot Cream was the same consistency as the eye cream.  It easily absorbed into the skin. This cream had a slight citrus type scent to it I’m guessing do to the citrus unshiu peel extract.  It also contains licorice extract, aloe, and vitamins B3 & E so all kinds of good stuff for your skin.

After 2 weeks of use I couldn’t say I noticed any real changes as far as the slight darkness under my eye fading but it did definitely help with the puffiness and the caffeine did seem to “perk up” my eyes a little.  I didn’t really notice any change with the dark spot cream. I kept using the cream as it directed though.  Up until the time I me uploading these pics it must have been very subtle changes along the way that I didn’t notice because when I uploaded the pics, I was surprised to see that my dark spot actually did fade some.  In fact I had to zoom in more on the picture to find it.  My eyes on the other hand…well it doesn’t help that I’ve only been getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night. (It’s not enough for me).  My poor eye looks swollen and puffy even after applying the eye cream. BUT it did seem less purplish.  Or is it just me?

Argan Oil And It’s Beauty Uses

I received the below mentioned product at no cost in order to complete an honest review. Any opinions expressed are my own. This post also contains affiliate links. Regardless I only post legitimate links from trusted sites.

If you use shampooo or hair serums you’ve probably seen argan oil as an ingredient in at least one product you’ve tried.  I’d never personally tried pure Argan Oil before. Reading about it Argan oil is rich in Vitamin E and Linoleic acid which is great for skin because of it’s anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants. It also has triterpenoids that help your skin create a barrier.  It can also help promote moisture retention so it’s a compliment to your regular lotions and moisturizing products.

I had the chance to try Swiss Botany Pure Moroccan Argan Oil.  I had heard about argan oil being great for hair but beyond that I didn’t know much else.  I read some of the info they sent along and found it’s a moisturizer and good for hands and nails.

Swiss Botany Argan oil

I first tried it in my hair.  I used about half  a dropper full.  I rubbed it between my hand and ran my hand though my hair.  It helped me so much with the frizz I’ve been experiencing this winter.  I even use a conditioner every time I wash my hair but this is what my  hair needed.

Between the dry heat of winter and having to wash my hand like a million times a day at work my hands get dry.  They get painfully dry.  I tried some of the argan oil on my hands.  It was like immediate relief.  I worked some into my nails too.  It really made my nails shine and quenched my dry cuticles.  I took a picture of one hand treated with argan oil and one not. Can you tell which one?

Blog 008

I’ve recently been reading about essential oils too.  I read that some treatments and applications of essential oils require what is referred to as a “carrier oil” Prior to this, the only acceptable carrier oil I had on hand was coconut oil which was fine.  I read that argan oil can actually be used as carrier oil for essential oils.  Since it’s good for my skin it seems like a good choice for me as well.

It can also be used as a scalp treatment for dry itchy scalps.  I haven’t tried this one yet but I so need to.

Real Bug Dig Kit Review

I received the below mentioned product at no cost in order to complete an honest review. Any opinions expressed are my own.

This time of year in Pennsylvania, it’s cold. When I say cold I mean last night windchill factors were -21 in my area.  Not really weather you want to encourage your kids to go out in play in.  As you might expect, they can get bored.  3 boys and a toddler in the house.  I try to have things on hand to keep their attention without using electronics.  I had a great experience with Dr. Cool’s science kits in the past so when I was asked to review their Insect Excavation kit, I couldn’t pass it up.

dr cool insect kit

I love the Discover with Dr Cool kits because they come with just about everything you need, not too many parts, and have much to offer for many ages. The Real Bug Dig Kit includes a digging tool, brush, magnifying glass, an insect guide booklet full of interesting bug info, an activity booklets, and a big plaster beetle that your kids will chip into to find 3 real bugs encased in acrylic.  My boys bugged me for a few days after we received the kit. They couldn’t wait to try it out.  My kids are aged 12, 11, 5, and 2 years.

Blog 004

We cleared a spot on our island.  They recommend laying down newspaper which is a good idea.  There will be chips and some plaster dust all over your work surface but it’s an easy clean up if you use newspaper. The kids each took turns chipping away at the plaster beetle.  They had so much fun with it.

They were so excited to when they started uncovering a bug. I didn’t tell them what bugs were included in the kit so there was an element of surprise when they pulled them out to see what they were.  We looked them up in the bug guide pamphlet.  The boys were genuinely interested in the information on each bug that was included.  There is even additional bug info on bugs not in the kit that my boys wanted to read about.

My youngest child is 2.  She stood by watching on a step stool and wanted to be included.  I gave her the brush that came with the kit and let her help my cleaning off the bugs we found.  She was happy to do it.

Blog 007

This kit took some time to do.  It’s not something that they’ll be done with in 5 minutes.  Even with all the kids taking turns it took us about 45 minutes to complete the kit.  My youngest son was enjoying chipping away at the plaster digging beetle even after all the bugs were discovered. This was a great kit.  Would make a fantastic gift too.  I know my kids have been engaged with both Dr Cool kits we’ve tried and I know they’d love to try even more.
