I’ve mentioned in posts in the past that I don’t have a lot of storage in my kitchen, especially for a family of 6. I have minimal counter space and only some cupboards. I’m always looking for ways to create more storage and hopefully do it in a cosmetically pleasing way. I’ve found some clever ideas and became aware of storage options I didn’t even know existed over the years. One such idea is the Jabowd Stainless Steel Magnetic Knife Holder.

See I did have my knives in a drawer but when each kid became a toddler they were quite interested in pulling the utensils and things out of the drawer. My daughter is 2 1/2 and she still just can’t resist pulling things out of the drawers and cupboards. I got child safety latches on the cupboards but never found anything that really worked on the drawers. So my solution was to put all my knives, peelers, and any other sharp objects in a storage container and sit it on my counter. It didn’t look the greatest but at least it kept the knives out of little hands. Still, with not having much counter real estate, every inch counts.

The Jabowd Magnetic Knife Holder is a stainless steel strip with strong magnets along the strip. Just screw the strip onto the wall with the provided screws and drywall anchors and you have a better solution for storing knives away from little hands. It also gives you convenient access when cooking. I had my strip installed in about 3 minutes and was able to start using it right away. My one concern was that the bigger knives would be too heavy and wouldn’t stick but this little strip is mighty.

You can see I have everything from paring knives to my bread and butcher knives. This thing is great. I can have it high enough on the wall that even my clever daughter can’t climb up on something and get it too.

I’ve been trying to find more natural products that really work. I’ve been on my own mission to find a more natural shampoo and conditioner that actually works. I’ve used Argan oil in my hair before and I know a number of shampoos use argan oil as an ingredient (except they aren’t natural like Maple Holistics are).

Maple Holistics argan shampoo contains not only argan oil but jojoba, peach kernel, almond, camellia seed, and avocado. All these natural ingredients make for one amazing scent too. The argan condition contains argan and botanical keratin.

I’ve been using the shampoo and argan conditioner for about two weeks now and I can honestly say this is my favorite shampoo and conditioner I’ve tried thus far. It did a great job of cleaning my hair. My hair feels so soft. It has the most amazing scent from the blend of ingredients used too.

Maple Holistics also let me try their Ancient Clay facial mask. I love using a good mask about once a week just to help get rid of black head and give my skin a good deep clean. Maple Holistics Ancient Clay facial mask using french green clay, betonite clay, and Fuller’s Eart (multani mitti) clay. This one I didn’t know too much about but when you order the products they send you helpful info cards about the ingredients in your products. Fuller’s Earth clay is described as “valuable clay most commonly known for it’s ability to reduce acne scars, blemishes, and blackheads.”

This mask comes with a scoop. The mask it self is in a dry powdered clay form. You use the scoop to measure the clay and water and mix it before applying.

I applied the mask. After washing it off my blackheads were almost all gone. My skin felt soft and looked so refreshed. Using a facial mask is one way I pamper myself. Using one that is all natural makes me feel like I’m getting the most benefit out of my beauty treatments as well.

I Found the Perfect Toddler Pillow!

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old. Up until now she hasn’t had a pillow at all. I tried to keep her bed clear of any extra items for nap time and overnight. I noticed the last few months though she’d want to climb in bed with my husband and I. She’d lay her head on a pillow and eventually fall asleep. That’s was ok while I was able to watch her. Each piece was packaged in it’s own small bag so it didn’t bump and scratch the other pieces in the box. I pulled my bracelet out right away. The quality and weight of the product was the first thing I noticed.
