The Peanut Butter My Family Craves, PB Crave

**I received the below mentioned product at no cost in order to complete a review. No other compensation has been received.***

Fairly recently my family and I had the opportunity to try a few flavors of PB Crave peanut butters.  Now, my family and I like peanut butter alright.  We usually have at least one jar in the house at all times. Everyone in my family went nuts (no pun intended) over the PB Crave peanut butter.  Seriously, I had 3 jars of it and they were all completely gone in less than a week.  Granted I have a family of 6 (though the baby can’t have any yet) and my boys can definitely eat, that includes my hubby.  Before it had completely disappeared I had shared one with my sister when she came to visit the one day. She’s very good at portioning and actually keeps a health and fitness blog.  She said “Ang, you need to put this away before I eat it all”.

I wrote to PB Crave, told them how much I loved their product and asked them to please let me do a review for my readers.  And those wonderful people sent me some jars to review too.  You can see from the picture they’re obviously been opened already.  I had gone to Pittsburgh for the Just Between Friends Consignment sale, when I got home someone had already broken into the box.  The box had PB Crave all over it so my family knew exactly what was in that box.

Alright I’ve been going on and on about how much my family and I love it, I guess I should tell you a bit about it.  PB Crave uses peanuts grown by family farms.  The chocolate is premium Belgium chocolate. MEL-O honey is used in each flavor.

When you open any of the flavors, you’ll see a chunky yummy concoction.  Without looking at the label you can tell which flavor it is just by the tempting scent.

Just look at all that yummy goodness in there.  My family and I have ate them on crackers, bread, apples, and pretzels.  They are delicious in every form.

On top of being totally delicious, when you buy a jar of PB Crave peanut butter they donate a minimum of 2% per jar to Project Peanut Butter which is a non-profit organization that focuses on treating malnourished children.

Andrew Zimmerman actually has this in his OpenSky store

You can purchase PB Crave from their website: http://www.pbcrave.com/ and is available at the following stores: The Fresh MarketEarth Fare and at some Whole Foods grocery stores. And on Amazon:

You can find PB Crave on these social networks:

PB Crave on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pbcrave
on twitter: @PBCrave
and on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/pbcrave/

Is your mouth watering yet?  Well I have some good news for you.  When I contacted PB Crave about doing a review for them they also wanted to sponsor a giveaway for you all as well.

Oh one more thing, I stopped by their facebook page and told them they should make a s’mores type flavor. You know chocolate, marshmallow, maybe some cinnamon in it.  What do you think?

Campbell’s Go Soup review and coupon

I had the opportunity to try Campbell’s Go (TM) Soup thanks to Smiley360.  I was sent the Moroccan Style Chicken with Chickpeas.  In my opinion, there’s some pros and cons to this soup.  I’ll start with the pros

–Convenient pouch makes it easy to store and take to work for lunch
–the soup can be microwave right in the pouch so no need to dirty an extra dish for heating
–Comes in unique flavor varieties you can’t easily find in other soup brands
–it’s a thick hearty soup with lots of chicken, chickpeas, and vegetables
–Quality soup, doesn’t seem to use subpar chicken or veggies.  They all have a good texture that adds to the soup

Cons

–It’s a single serve pouch.  Which would actually be great for work or when you’re home alone but for me when the kids are asking “Can I have some?” I have to tell them it only makes one bowl and allow them to take a few bits of mine to taste it
–It’s a bit pricey for a single serve pouch though it would still be cheaper than buying food at your work cafeteria or fast food I suppose

Now my opinion on the Moroccan Style Chicken with Chickpeas soup itself.  It definitely had a unique flavor.  It was a little sweet, a bit spicey, and thick.  You could certainly taste the chicken and vegetables.  This flavor in particular is probably not one I’d buy but there are a number of other flavors if this isn’t your cup of tea.

Besides the Moroccan Chicken there is also

–Golden Lentil with Madras Curry
–Creamy Red Pepper with Smoke Gouda (which would be the next one I try)
–Coconut Curry with Chicken and Shitake Mushrooms
–Chicken and Quinoa with Pablano Chilies
–Spicy Chorizo and Pulled Chicken with Black Beans

This is a picture of my soup in the bowl.  You can see how thick and full of chicken and veggies it is.

If you’d like to give Campbell’s Go Soup a try for yourself, don’t pay full price, I have a coupon for you.

Look what I scored at Just Between Friends Consignment Sale Pittsburgh

***I was provided a free pre-sale pass and luncheon for this post as well as a gift certificate as part of the US Family Guide blogger program***

I had the opportunity to shop the pre-sale today at Just Between Friends Spring/Summer Children’s and Maternity consignment sale at the RME Island Sports Center in the Gold Dome on Neville Island in Pittsburgh.  I had never been to a Just Between Friends Consignment Sale before but you can bet I’ll go again.

I had the opportunity to talk to some of the lovely people who are in charge of the Just Between Friends consignment sales and some of the amazing volunteers.
Looking at the size of the shopping area and how many items there were, I could have only imagined how long it takes to organize, promote, recruit volunteers, take care of consignors, etc.  So I asked them, How long does it take to organize one of their sales?  The organizer for the Pittsburgh East sales told me that almost literally weeks after one sale has ended plans are started for the next.  There’s a lot involved from booking  venue, advertising, and more.
One thing I like was how they talked about how important mommy bloggers are to getting the word out about their sales and they really appreciate their mommy bloggers :-).
I’ll be honest, I was in the zone for shopping for deals.  I nearly forgot to take pictures but don’t worry, I came to my senses during my trip.  Had I had a moving van and didn’t have my  newborn with me I probably  would have bought a lot more.
Ok I’m super psyched about this find.  This was probably one of my fave finds
I don’t know if you can read the tag but I scored a Vera Bradley diaper bag for $6!!!  You bet that went home with me.
I had a mental list of things I needed and wanted to get.  I needed a new infant stroller.  I didn’t know exactly what I wanted I just knew that I wanted something newer than what I had (mine is 10 years old and has lived through 3 boys!) I didn’t want to spend a lot of money.  Boy was there a selection
Ok this wasn’t even all of them.  I just took a quick pic of what I saw.  Everything from jogging strollers, travel systems, car seat frame strollers, double strollers, just about any kind you might want.  I ended up choosing a car seat frame stroller since I did have a toddle stroller for later.
Just look at the price!  Only $20 that went home with me too.
I also picked up a couple outfits for my baby girl, some toys for my youngest son, a pair of shorts for my youngest son, a couple toys for my girl, oh and another thing that was on my list was a car seat mirror for the car so I could glance and see my baby in her car seat if I needed to.  Yep got it for $2.50!  Also got a couple of sun hats, some tights that were new in the package, some nursing pads, and a couple pairs of shoes including a brand new pair of Robeez for my daughter.  Oh my seriously I could have spent all day there.
I stood in the back of the dome and tried to take a pic of just some of the toys.  Trust me this wasn’t even all of them.  They had them sectioned off boys toys, girls toys, games, big play furniture, outdoor toys, Oh that reminds me I also got a baseball glove for my youngest son because he’s been wanting one like his big brother.
So lets take inventory again
–Graco car seat frame stroller $20
–Munchkin car seat mirror $2.50
–1 girls shirt and pants set $5
–1 girls one piece with matching cardigan $3
–new unopened baby tights $1
–Circo Mary Jane Style pink shoes $1
–sun hat purple/blue/green $1
–Sun hat black and white $1.50
–Robeez shoes $4
–Vera Bradley diaper bag $6
–pink elephant toy for carseat/stroller $1
–Bag of 3 Monster trucks for my son $4
–Boys 5/6 shorts $2
–Yellow and lime Franklin baseball glove $2
Um I think that’s everything.  I didn’t get a pic of the trucks, by son ripped that bag open and played with them immediately.  Then mixed them in with the rest of his toys.  But I’m super happy with the deals I got.  I would definitely recommend going if you’re near a Just Between Friends Consignment sale. The one in Pittsburgh is happening May 3-5.
You can get a free admission pass for the Pittsburgh sale through the PittsburghKidsGuide.com here:  http://www.pittsburghkidsguide.com/coupon.php?bid=8902&lid=9098&dealid=242®ionid=58  otherwise it’s $3 at the door to get in.
Thanks to the friendly volunteers who helped me out with my baby while I was there and was more than willing to help with questions and things while I was there!

Soy Serenity Candle Company premium candles at low prices

***I received a sample of the below mentioned products at no cost in order to complete a review.  No other compensation has been received***

You may or may not have heard of the benefits of soy candles over other candles that are paraffin based.  Soy candles are cleaner burning and come from a renewable resource.  They produce less smoke that a paraffin based candle. I love having a candle burning in my house and had read about the different types of wax and the differences.  I chose soy myself because my one son has asthma and the benefit of less smoke was good for him.  The idea that soy is renewable made it a greener choice for me too.

Soy Serenity Candle Company is a fairly new company, established in 2011, that offers premium quality soy candles at everyday low prices.  Sounds like my kind of company.  They are located in Hudson Valley, New York.

I had the opportunity to review a sampling of what Soy Serenity Candle Company has to offer.

I  received 2 different scents of the travel tins and they also sent me 2 of their tea candles.

The scents I chose were Lemon Lavender and Cucumber Cantaloupe.  I love lighter fresh scents, relaxing scents, or fruity scents so these were right up my alley.  The travel tins burn for up to 14 hours.  They are “eco-pure” according to their website.  They last 2 X longer, have a stronger scent throw, are non-toxic, and dye free compared to a paraffin-petroleum wax based candle.

I had the Lemon Lavender tin burning in my living room.  The scent was noticeable throughout my whole living room, into my dining room, and in the foyer.  It was not over-powering but a light scent that floated in the air.

The tea light candles were actually a surprise.  I didn’t know I was receiving them also.  The did not have scent names on them but they were both wonderful scents. I could definitely pick up a  tea and floral scent on the one.  Looking at the site I’m thinking it must be the White Tea and Ginger scent.  The other had a slightly sweet scent.  I could pick up a bit of vanilla and another scent the blended wonderfully with it.  Looking at the site I’m thinking it might be the Vanilla Verbena.

White Tea & Ginger Tealight Candles

Soy Serenity also has jewelry candles that contain a piece of silver jewelry embedded in it that’s worth $15 to $1500!

All of the candles burned clean and evenly and gave a scent throw that had reach but was gentle.

If you’d like to try Soy Serenity Candles for yourself they have given me a discount code to share with you. Use code: SOYSERENITY for 5% off all orders.

Spotlight on a Mom Invented product this Mother’s Day: Lovable Labels

***I received an ultimate camp pack for review purposes.  No other compensation has been received***

Moms, is there anything we can’t do?  I mean we’re multi-taskers, problem solvers, family coordinators, meal planners, boo boo healers, and some…even inventors.  Really the list could go on and each mom could have her own unique list of tasks and titles.  That’s why, as we’re nearing Mother’s Day, I’m proud to highlight this mom invented product.

Lovable Labels was started by a mom with a problem.  The problem of labeling all her sons things as she was told to by the daycare.  Everything from clothes, shoes, sippy cups, backpacks, etc.  She realized there was a need for personalized labels that would last, be waterproof, dishwasher and microwave safe, washer/dryer safe, sun safe, bleach safe, sunscreen safe, and temperature safe.  That’s what she created, labels that are just that, not to mention come in cute colors, shapes, and designs.

I’ve personally been using Lovable Labels for about 2 years now before I even was offered this review.  I have labels for each of my kids AND myself including labels with my blog url on them.  For the kids I’ve used them to label their water bottles for sports, back packs, shoes, toys, folders for school, gym/sports bags, and there’s probably more. For me I use them to label my office supplies, my clipboard I carry around at work, my tupperware, and more.  They are so handy and can be used on just about anything.  They stay put and really are durable.  I  have labels on some of my tupperware that I put on a year ago and still looks like the day I put it on, even after being washed numerous times. We have cover dishes for different things at work and I’ll label my bowls and even utensils.
I had a chance to try out the Lovable Labels camp pack.  The camp pack includes
–15 sticker labels
–40 slimline labels
–12 shoe labels
–72 Press n’ Stick Clothing DOTS
–2 mini metal tags (like dog tags)
–12 Square labels.
For a total of 150 labels!
You can get any name on them and can choose the theme of your pack.  I chose the Ultimate Camp Pack -Diva theme for my baby girl because she didn’t have her own labels yet.  Here is some of her things I labeled:
her diaper bag (mini metal tag)
On her shoes with the (shoe labels)
on her toys (slimline label)

In my opinion I think the camp pack would work great for daycare or school too.  So many things you could label.  If you visit their site: http://www.lovablelabels.ca  you’ll see a variety of labels to fit your needs.  Allergy labels, medical ID bracelets, household labels, and even stationary.

and Lovable Labels on twitter: @mylovablelabels

I also have a coupon code for you . You can use code: CAMP1313 for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more (before shipping and taxes).  Coupon is valid until June 30, 2013
