Review and Giveaway: Lunchboxes.com COUPON ALSO! Giveaway CLOSED

I had the opportunity to review a couple of cool lunch boxes from http://www.lunchboxes.com

Before we know it, it will be back to school shopping time again. I know my boys would whine if they saw what I just typed lol. Think about http://www.lunchboxes.com when in need of a new lunchbox.  I chose 2 lunchboxes from lunchboxes.com.  One for me and one for the boys to use.

The boys picked the camo skull lunch bag.  The one pictured on the the right in the above picture.  They were very happy with with it.  I used it for the 4th of July fireworks to take a few drinks along with us, some string cheese, and a sippy cup for the baby.  There’s plenty of room inside this one.

Then There’s the Bon Appetit system that has way more cool features then the description on the
 http://www.lunchboxes.com/ site goes into.

I received the Bon Appetit Lunch System in white and orange.  Looking at the picture above you may think, Ok it looks cool so what else does it do?  Well I’ll show you.

I took the whole system apart to show you the pieces. There’s a large square bowl, if you will.  Plenty of space if you’re just taking something like a bowl of leftover spaghetti into work.  Take your fork and just leave the other pieces at home.  The lid locks on with little locks on both sides where the handles are.  There is a rubber seal around the lid that seals in everything, so no leaking  that spaghetti sauce into the stylish carrying back.  That brings me to the carrying back which opens the whole way and can be used as a placemat.  There is velcro around the side so it seals up into a cute stylish carrying back.  People may not even know it’s your lunch bag.

Sealing the system into the bag.

                                                               Packed and ready to go

All of the pieces fit in a nice neat package.  You can store items in the main part and store items you want to keep seperate in the larger triangle section.  There’s a smaller triangle section that you can put in sauces, dips, or a small portion of something like maybe nuts for as salad or croutons.   Then there’s the fork.  Do you notice that the fork is rounded on one side of the prongs and straight on the other.  The straight side is for cutting.

The lid is not exception to being an efficient part of the Bon Appetit lunchbox system.  See the little circle  I’m pointing to in the pic?  That is for your sauces.  Like ketchup for your fries, honey mustard for your nuggets, etc.  Store it in the little triangle section and pour some into this well for a neat way to keep your sauce seperate from the rest of your meal.

I packed my lunch up for work one day. Cashew Chicken.  I put the rice in the main part and the chicken in the large triangle part.  Extra cashews in the small triangle container.

Everything fit in nicely, even with the fork inside.  Sides locked and ready to go.

There are many more lunchboxes at http://www.lunchboxes.com/  from metal, plastic, insulated, bento boxes, lunch box accessories such as thermoses , ice packs and more.  Check out the cool selection:  http://www.lunchboxes.com/

Review Summary:   With such a large selection of lunch boxes that lunchboxes.com has to offer you are sure to find one you like at a price to fit your budget.  Customer Service is friendly and shipping is fast.  Good quality products.  I would recommend lunchboxes.com

got2b Smooth Operator review and giveaway—CLOSED

I have Straight hair, well mostly. It has a mild wave to it.  I love the smooth sleek look that a lot of the celebrities have.  The straight hair that looks so smooth and shiny.  My hair does not cooperate.  It seems no matter what product I use it didn’t give me the look I was going for OR if it did it only lasted for about, oh, 20 minutes or so.

To be fair, I’m not what anyone would call a hairstylist.  I’m lucky if I can put my hair in a straight pony tail (seriously). When bzzagent.com offered the got2b smooth operator hair campaign for their members I  jumped on it.  I’ll try it.  What the hay, it can’t work any worse than other product I’ve tried.  Plus, I was getting it for free.  One thing I like about bzzagent.com. they want you to pass the word about the product. Good or bad, they want to know.

With some skepticism I tried the got2b smooth operator  Smoothing Lustre Lotion product. I have to admit,  I don’t hate it.  In fact, I rather like it.  It made my hair feel smooth and silky.  In this 85% humidity and 85 degree weather we’ve been experiencing in PA recently…my hair is not frizzy. My hair is actually straight.  I love it.

The got2b smooth operator hair products are in cute girly containers. I love the little charm on the side of the Lustre Lotion.  The Smooth Operator line says it’s “infused with cashmere” and “helps to protect against damage form heat styling and contains a UV protectant”.

GIVEAWAY:

One winner will receive 1 bottle of got2b Smooth operator Lustre Lotion and 1 can of got2b Smooth Operator Hairspray.

Mandatory Entry:
Must follow my blog publicly either through gfc or networked blogs and leave a comment telling me why you would like to try got2be smooth operator products. This must be completed before any bonus entries will be counted.  Leave your email address so i can contact you if you win.

The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen Cookbook Giveaway

www.canolainfocooks.org and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) have developed “The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen: Fresh, Fast and Flavorful Recipes made with Canola Oil” cook book.  There will be seven bloggers from the CanolaInfo team preparing all 151 recipes and sharing there info with you on the www.CanolaInfoCooks.org blog.  Each blogger will give a different perspective.  From Culinary experts to moms with children, and young city dwellers learning the kitchen.

In reading the cookbook, I found a lot of interesting and helpful information in the beginning of the book.  For instance, “The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen cookbook” explains the good and bad fats.  The benefits of good fats and why bad fats are….well…bad.  It gives information on healthy cooking habits and more.

I have to admit.  When I think healthy cooking I don’t always think of flavor and variety.  In reading the recipes in “The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen: Fast and Flavorful Recipes made with Canola Oil” I found myself saying.  “oh that looks good”, “I’m going to have to try this recipe”, “I bet I could make this and no one would even realize it’s good for them”.    I work in the health field for a living.  I see the consequences of people not taking a more healthy approach to their life.  This cookbook makes it easy to find and prepare a healthy meal for your family.

With recipes like:  Turkey-Swiss Panini, Lime-Zested Tomatillo-Black Bean Salad, Chicken with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, and a whole lot more.  Vivid pictures of recipes in the book really make it appealing.  Oh did I mention there is a Chocolate Fondue recipe as well? Just throwing that in there.  🙂

You can check out some of these recipes for yourself in the mean time.  Go to: www.CanolaInfoCooks.org  to see for yourself.  You can also find CanolaInfoCooks on facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/CanolaInfo

As if that wasn’t enough to make you think you’d like to check out this book, All proceeds from the sales will go to the American Diabetes Association.  This book is $18.95  in the U.S. and is availabe through the American Diabetes Association:  http://store.diabetes.org , 1-800-232-6733, and Amazon.com

as well as Barnes and Noble, and many other bookstores.

This cookbook is not just for people living with Diabetes.  Healthy cooking is for everyone!  Heart Disease is the leading cause of death around the world.  The ADA recommends that people with Diabetes should use healthy oils, like canola oil, instead of other types of fat when cooking.  This cookbook is full of recipes using healthier canola oil.

“The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen: Fresh, Fast, and Flavorful Recipes Made with Canola Oil” cookbook is laid out very well.  With an easy to read contents section broke down into meals: lunch, dessert, salads for instance and an alphabetic index making it easy to find say:  Chocolate Mint Pie with Espresso Sauce (sorry can’t help myself).

And here is the exciting part for my readers: I’m giving away a copy of “The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen: Fresh Fast and Flavorful Recipes Made with Canola Oil”  Here on my blog.  The winner will also receive a 2010 “The Heart-Smart Diabetes Kitchen” Calendar with colorful pictures each month of some of the delicious recipes found in the cookbook.

Thanks to www.CanolaInfoCooks.org for letting me offer my readers such a great giveaway!

Now the giveaway rules:

Mandatory for initial entry:

1.  Go to: www.CanolaInfoCooks.org and leave a comment telling me which recipe on their blog is your favorite and why.
