Each school is different. Some put out premade lists of supplies while others might give suggestions on things to help. Here are some things you might not think about until school starts. There’s even something you don’t need but your kid’s gonna want.
Texas Instruments – TI-36X Pro Scientific Calculator
Ok there are lots of brands and types of scientific calculators out there. When I started Algebra III and Trig it was recommended we have one of these. I used the heck out of this thing. They’re really come down in price and the screen is a lot nicer than they used to be.

Book Sox – Book Sox Stretchable Fabric Book Cover–Jumbo Size
These things are the best book covers ever (so far lol) I bought a bunch of these for my son for school last year. They stayed on all year, were easy to put on, if they get nasty you can wash them, and you can reuse them every year!! We have all his put away for this year.

Oriental Trading Company – Camouflage Locker Dcor Set – Teacher Resources & Classroom Decorations
Now that my oldest son is in middle school I found aout that decorating the inside of your locker was kind of a big deal. He told me girls had locker chandaliers and everything! He wanted me to find camo decoration for his locker. I couldn’t find one last year but look what momma found this year!! He was happy with the bacon magnets I found for him last year though.

Master Lock – Set Your Own Combination Lock, 1 ea
If your child has a locker at school you might want to find out if they need a lock or not. My son had the option of purchasing a lock from the school or we could get our own. A lot of the kids like getting their own because they can find different colors and designs.
Master Lock – Set Your Own Combination Lock, 1 ea – $4.05 (32% off), 5.00 shipping – Available at Zoro
Bell – EZGuard Combination Cable Bike Lock
Bike locks! If your child is planning on riding his or her bike to school get them a bike lock. The combination one is better in my opinion. You don’t have to worry about them forgetting or losing their keys. Write the combination down then if they forget it they can call you for it or if they have a cell phone they can put it in their cell.
Bell – EZGuard Combination Cable Bike Lock – $8.49, 5.33 shipping – Available at Amazon.com
Locker Lounge – Locker Lounge Chandelier
Just because I mentioned them, there is seriously such thing as a locker chandelier. Apparently a big thing with the middle school girls. No you don’t need it, yes your daughter will want it
Locker Lounge – Locker Lounge Chandelier – $29.99, 4.84 shipping – Available at Fullfillment By Amazon

LOVE the locker chandelier! The camo locker decor is neat too! Thanks for sharing Angie 🙂
LOL at the locker chandelier. Book sox were always a hot seller when I worked at Staples many years ago.
Good ideas. I’m sure the locker chandelier will make my daughter even more excited for school to start.
My son started middle school last year. It was the first year they had lockers. You wouldn’t believe what a big deal it was to decorate the inside of lockers! He was asking me to find camo locker wallpaper like the one I listed above. He was so excited for the bacon magnets I bought him. He told me about a couple of girls having the locker chandeliers. I had to look them up, my curiosity got the best of me lol
Decorating the Lockers. Great idea for keeping them busy. Need the Master Lock to protect the chandelier lol.!
I had no idea the pro calculators had come down so much in price! I’m tempted to buy one just to have fun with it. I borrowed my brother’s when I was in college and I was glad not to have to shell out $100 to buy my own (didn’t they used to be super expensive?? I really thought my brother had paid $100 for his, but maybe my memory is wrong). I was sad when I gave it back to him, though! I had so much fun using it!
I thought the same thing. I remember having to buy one for advanced math classes. I wanna say I got one on the cheaper end and it it was probably $40.
