Mineral Fusion has launched a new mineral skincare line that has been designed to revitalize and repair your skin. All Mineral Fusion products are naturally formulated. My question, What makes the skin care like a Mineral skincare line?

Mineral Fusion gave me a nice brochure that explains this. It says that Magnesium, Zinc, and Copper encourages new skin cell growth.

It also includes “wrinkle repairing peptides”. Peptides help to stimulate collagen production.

Botanicals like Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Licorice Root, and White Tea offer antioxidants.

For those who need, all Mineral Fusion products are gluten free, paraben free, as well as free from SLS, phlatates, artificial colors and synthetic fragrances. The products are hypo-allergenic.

I received a full size purifying gel cleanser for normal to oily skin, skin-renewing facial scrub, and a mineral facial moisturizer with SPF 40.

The Purifying gel Facial Cleaners was a generous size. At 7 fl oz, I think this will last me for some time. It comes in a an easy to dispense tube. With my first use I noticed the gels was clear. No artificial colors. While washing my face I noticed it had a faint fragrance. Looking at the bottle I see it includes the benefits of Marine clay, Lavendar, Chamomile, White Tea, and Aloe Vera. I’m sure the slight fragrance I smell is a combination of those lovely ingredients.

The Skin-Renewing Facial Scrub made my skin feel wonderful. It gave my skin a smooth texture. You can control the amount of exfoliation with the amount of time spent scrubbing or with pressure. This product again had the similar light fragrance of the facial cleanser.

As I start to show signs of aging on my face, I realize how I wish I would have used more SPF products when I was younger. Mineral Fusion makes it easy for me now though with the Mineral Facial Moisturizer with SPF 40. Did you know that even on overcast days UVA and UVB rays could be effecting your skin? It’s true. This made my face feel so soft and supple after applying. It felt good knowing I was doing the right thing for my skin too.

As if there weren’t enough benefits to using these products, they also support the NCADV — National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Toy Companies, some packaging feedback

I went to Dollar General today. I decided to buy my toddler a small $2 car as a reward today. It was a very cute car for the price.

He wanted the car out of the little box so bad. When we got home his older brother tried to take it out of the box for him to play with only to discover that there is a small screw securing the car to the box. The only way to get the car out of the box without ruining it was to remove the screw. The screw was small, only slightly larger than a eye glass screw. It was also deep in the plastic. It took me 10 minutes and searching in the tool drawer and basement to find a screwdriver small enough to get at the screw. All the while my toddler is screaming for his car.

Now I’m asking this seriously, Is it REALLY necessary to package a $2 car like that?

Swanson Vitamins review

I came across Swanson Vitamins website while on twitter one day. I stopped by the site to see what they had to offer. As I clicked through the website I realized how much they really had to offer. Swanson Vitamins doesn’t just sell vitamins but also: supplements, healthy foods/snacks, beauty products, pet products, and weight loss products.

I had the opportunity to choose several Swanson Health Products. Understand that I am no expert in vitamins or supplements. Any benefits listed are from the website. You should always consult your doctor before adding herbs or supplements to your daily routine as some can have undesired effects with certain medications or health conditions.

I take multi-vitamins regularly. So do my children. This was recommended by both mine and my boys’ Dr. One of my major complaints is that I never have enough energy. When I was looking over the site I found Multi Vitamin Energy Plus for Women. Sounded like a winner for me. I bought the smaller bottle just to try it. Since I started taking these vitamins I’ve felt like I have had more energy. In fact, I started back into a work out routine. Whether it’s just me or it was the vitamins I don’t know for sure but I do think they helped in some way.

While browsing I was looking at their buy one get one free deals. I found the supplement Swanson Chromium Picolante. I’m hoping to lose a few before our first family vacation to the beach. I was looking for something that might help me kick start my weight loss. This was listed in Swanson’s best weight control formulas category. It says that chromium is an essential mineral for everyone. You shouldn’t take it though if you are diabetic or hypoglycemic. I decided to give it a try.

Then there is of course the Natural Omega-3 Fish Oil there are said to be many benefits of fish oil including cardiovascular health, mind, and bone benefits.

For the kids I wanted to try a healthy snack. Well, maybe for me too. I found Organic Freeze-Dried Strawberry Slices on the their site. Everyone here loves strawberries. I thought these would make a great healthy snack for the kids. I got the bag and they lasted all of 2 days I think. They are 100% organic, unsweetened, and no added ingredients. They are similar to the dried strawberries in cereals.

The prices are very reasonable on Swanson’s website. When comparing the quantity with the same type of product on other sites, the products are often cheaper. Granted you have to figure in shipping too. Shipping is only $4.95. If you order several of your regular products at the same time you’d end up saving money still. Also check out their buy one get one free category and their online specials for even more deals.
