Do you have a family game night? Do you like to have a few board games on hand for a rainy day? Check out these games that are family faves at our house.
APPLES TO APPLES PARTY BOX
We love Apples to Apples game. We usually play this when family comes around. It’s a lot of fun and easy to learn. Not a whole lot of rules or pieces. They also make a Jr. version for younger kids.

Go To The Head Of The Class 15th Series
Go to the head of the class board game. Ok I know the price is scary this is the original version. I had this game as a kid. It was fun but also very educational. I still remember things from this game. It’s a little challenging but bonus for the education level . There seems to be an updated version that’s cheaper but something about the nostalgia of this box…
Bejeweled Game
Bejeweled board game We actually won this game about a year or so ago. I wasn’t sure what my kids would think about it or how fun it would be as a board game. I knew I liked the game online. Well we tried it and we love it. Just look at the prize too.
Perfection Game
I had a love/hate relationship with this game growing up. It was fun, it was a challenge, but it was also like the a jack in the box experience. You never knew when it when the timer would go off. This one is a single player game but it’s fun to have each person take a turn and see who can get all the pieces in before it pops.
Don’t Break the Ice Game
This one has been around a while too. Love this game because if you’re short on time you can still get a couple rounds of this in. Also the rules are fairly simple so even younger ones can play this one. They even have a Disney Frozen Don’t Break the Ice game.
TacTic Toss game
If you’re looking for a more active game this one is a lot of fun. Hook it to a door and start tossing away.
Booby Trap game a classic
I remembering playing this one as a kid. It’s a strategy game. Littler ones would have a harder time with this but older kids and adults will have fun.
Ladderball outdoor game
I’ve seen it but hadn’t played it until my uncle brought it to a family picnic. This game you can play outside and is more fun than you might think. there are two balls tethered together by a string. You throw them and try to get them to wrap around one of the bars of the ladder. Each bar is worth a certain number of points.

My family loves game nights. We don’t often get to have them because of our schedules, but when we do it is a blast. We play several of the games you mentioned but also simple card games. A great way to reconnect especially with tweeners!

We just started playing apples to apples and it is funny, we also play a card spelling game called Quiddler, we really love that game.

We love our family game nights. My daughter used to play apples to apples all the time with all of her friends and youth group. As a family, I think our ultimate favorite family game is “Balderdash.”
