What is your holiday wish this year? Every years I take my boys on a shopping trip. We pick one day. They know on this day they will not be getting anything. They will help pick out a toy for children less fortunate. We usually pick out one girl toy, one boy toy, and one baby toy. On this trip I remind them that we may not have everything but we are still more fortunate than others. I talk to them about the true meaning of Christmas and about what I think is the spirit of Santa Claus. I want them to know that Christmas isn’t just about wishlists and cookies. I want them to know it’s a time to consider others too.
