**I received The Original Prize Candle from Tastemaker Mom in order to complete an honest review. No other compensation has been received. Any opinions expressed are my own.**
I love scented candles. I keep a stash of them in my house. It’s something about the feelings a particular scent evokes and the ambiance a burning candle can provide. I tend to lean towards soy candles because they burn cleaner and have less smoke. Now give me a great scented candle and tell me it has a prize in it if I burn it…well I’m all over that.
I received a Prize Candle to review as part of the Tastemaker Mom blogger program. I didn’t know what scent to expect. I had never tried a Prize Candle before. I received a 9 oz Prize Candle in the scent Jasmine Neroli. Honestly if I were to have chosen my own scent I would have chosen this one. My husband loves the scent of Jasmine and has got me hooked on it as well. The Jasmine combined with the Neroli gives this candle a beautiful soft floral scent. I think the look of the box it comes in as well as the candle itself is elegant. This would make a gorgeous gift.
I began burning my candle almost immediately. The scent was lovely. Not overwhelming just hint to let you know it was there. The candle burned evenly. After a couple days of burning I started to see the capsule that contained my prize. Can you see my prize peeping out?
I let it burn just a bit longer to ensure the was around it was soft enough to remove my prize. I blew out the candle and took a wooden stick and tried wiggling the capsule around to loosen it up. It was stuck in there pretty good but I was eventually able to get it out. That thing to the left the of the candle in the picture below was the capsule that held my prize. There was two foam stickers on the side that I’m guessing held the capsule in place in the candle. Probably why it also took some effort to get out.
When I opened the capsule my prize was contained in a smaller zip bag. I took it out to finally reveal my prize. A ring. The unique thing about Prize Candle is that they give you a code with your prize. You can go to the site, type your code in and get an instant appraisal on your prize. Mine was a $10 prize. Pretty ring but the size was bigger than what I wear. It was too big for any of my fingers.
I initially didn’t even see the tiny paper with the code on it. It was also in the capsule and had some wax over it. I had to scrape some of the wax off with my nail to review the code I was to type in. I really enjoyed my Prize Candle. It’s always fun to get a little surprise and the scent was amazing. I’m definitely going to try more scents. For now I’m going to finish burning the candle I have.

I’m glad you had a pleasant experience! I had heard some disheartening things about the quality of their scents.
Hi Jayne, Thanks for your comment. This is my first and only experience with Prize Candle . I honestly loved the Jasmine Neroli scent. It was not strong by any stretch but I know some that do prefer a quieter scent. If you’re looking for a strong scented candle, this wouldn’t be it. I looked at the site though and I don’t even see the Jasmine Neroli listed right now. Not sure if it’s a new upcoming scent or one that is only offered periodically.
I burn a lot of candles in my home.
I love prize candles. I like that it has a piece of paper telling you the value of the prize.
What a great idea. This would be so much fun at Christmastime!
Thats a fun gift to give with a bonus!
this idea is fun and great!!
Would like to try a Prize candle.
I love prize candles. I’d love to see them with specific brands of jewelry such as Origami Owl, Pandora, etc.
