When I had a little more time on my hands, I used to love to do Yoga at home. So many benefits like relaxation, increasing flexibility, and muscle one, just to name a few.
I had found some kid’s yoga programs on our free pay per view. They really enjoyed doing them. We would do them together as a family. The only problem was that with the free pay per view, the titles are only on there for so long.
I had the opportunity to review Storyland Yoga from PlayfulPlanetnet.com. There was two different Yoga session on the DVD. Condor Trek and Save the Whales. It’s geared for ages 3-8. Perfect for me since my two oldest are 7 and 8. We did the Condor Trek session together. There is a cute story line to the yoga moves. There are also little cartoon pictures entered in from time to time.
Now I realize I’m not in the shape I used to be. I found some of the moves to be rather difficult. The kids and I just did the best we could. For instance they had what I know as “the downward dog” position but they increased the difficulty by asking the kids to lift one arm and the opposite leg. That’s a difficult position to hold. I suppose after doing this dvd several times they would get the hang of it.
My boys were interested enough that they wanted to do the “Save the Whales” session too. Here is a pic of them trying to do one of the partner moves.
My boys had fun and it was a nice thing to do together as a family. I think this DVD will be one that they will pull out and want to do.
