The vampire tilted his head. “Sure you’re all right?”
His voice sounded deep and smooth, with a rumbling power that interrupted my lust-induced trance.
Blake offered me his hand, and I slipped mine into his. His palm was incredibly warm and sent a
rush of anticipation right through me. He pulled me to my feet and released his hold.
Okay, hormones, settle down. You can’t lust after a hot vampire. What if…oh, no. What if he had me
in his thrall! I was being hypnotized by all that magnificent male sexiness.
“I’m extremely late. No, uh, thrall—thank you,” I stuttered and turned to flee, embarrassed over my
