I try to support charities whenever I can.  There are certain causes that truly move me.  I’m drawn to children’s charities often.  Make-A-Wish is one that I donate to or help with in some way when I can.  I also love working with companies that go beyond just putting a good product on the shelf.  When a company does more and gives back, that’s a company that makes me loyal to the brand.

Purex has teamed up with  Make-A-Wish for the “Bright Washes, Bright Wishes” campaign.  Purex is going to make a minimum $250,000 donation to Make-A-Wish but you can help them to do more, up to $400,000!  Every time you purchase a bottle of Purex liquid detergent or Purex liquid softener between February 1 to February 28, 2014 5 cents per bottle of liquid detergent for the first 4 million bottles sold then increase to 10 cents per bottle for every bottle sold over the first 4 million. For Purex liquid fabric softener classic and ulta lines in Mountain Breeze and Sweet Lavender scent, 8 cents per bottle will be donated for the first 620,000 bottles sold and increase to 10 cents per bottle donated after the first 620,000 are sold!

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy . Children that have been a part of the program say it gives them a renewed strength to keep fighting their illness and the experience is uplifting for the entire family.  This is why Purex supports Make-A-Wish.

This cause is close to home for me.  Years ago I had a cousin who was diagnosed with Leukemia around age 14.  He was very active in BMX and other sports.  He was granted a wish through Make-A-Wish and he chose a swimming pool.  The whole family was able to enjoy it, including myself.  Many a summer was spent together swimming at the pool.  You know what, my cousin beat Leukemia and is now married and has 3 children himself.  So for those out there with this burden on your shoulders, don’t give up, keep on fighting!

I was just sitting here wondering if I have pictures from any gatherings.  I’ll have to check.  If I do I’ll have to scan one and post it.  I think Make-A-Wish is a wonderful cause.  Giving family a brief time where they can almost forget about the burden for a minute and just enjoy a moment this wonderful charity can give them.  You can see the Purex Bright Washes Bright Wishes campaign page here: http://www.purex.com/make-a-wish

I look at my beautiful babies and just can’t imagine what it would be like to deal with something like that.  I hope I never have to find out.  All I know is I send my thoughts and positive thoughts to the families that are dealing with this situation and applaud Purex for doing more!
