Pink Zebra from Kerri: Simmer Pot and Sprinkles review and giveaway

I only had starting hearing about Pink Zebra myself about a year ago. Pink Zebra was started by Tom and Kelly Gaines who had already worked in a candle business. They used their knowledge to start their own business. It was hard for them at first but their little home fragrance business grew. It grew so much that they were able to buy one of the largest candle manufacturers in the world.

Pink Zebra offers a variety of home fragrances. Their Pink Zebra sprinkles are scented wax sprinkles that can be used in one of their simmer pots or any warmer. A flameless way to create scent in your home.

I’m working on this review with a very friendly Pink Zebra rep named Kerri. This is my first personal experience with Pink Zebra and Kerri has done everything to make sure it was a good one.

The above pictured Fleur de lys green simmer pot and sprinkles were sent to my house. Now understand that the items actually come from the Pink Zebra warehouse when they’re ordered online. I received mine but the dish that sits on top of the warmer bottom was missing. It wasn’t in the box. I went all through the boxes, the packing, and even my garbage just to make sure I didn’t inadvertently throw it away. I contacted Kerri, and she quickly made sure I had a replacement. The items arrived in good shape.

I couldn’t wait to try out my simmering pot and the Fresh Raspberry sprinkles I had chosen. The scent was very nice. Not over powering but just enough to leave a nice hint of raspberry lingering in the air.

The simmer pot plugs in but there is as switch on it to turn it on and off. The Pink Zebra sprinkles surprisingly came in a glass jar. I’m rather excited about that. Easier to recycle in my town.

Another thing I wanted to point out about Pink Zebra, they support a cause called HEROES. HEROES stands for Helping, Encouraging, Rewarding, and Obtaining Education for Single Mothers. They realize that single moms do it all, work, pay bills, cook, clean, maybe go to school, all while still being a mother to their children. Whenever a consultant holds a party with sales of $500 or more 1 day of daycare is donated to help a single mother. Their goal is to pay for 1 million days of daycare over the next 10 years.

In the above pictures is the Royce Leather “The Big Tag” It has a card under the flap that you can fill out with your contact info should your bag get lost. I love the fact that they sent me a pink one. I put in on the diapers bag. The diaper bag is so generic look (I got it for free as I’m sure many people did). I had actually forgot it at a restaurant one time. Even though it’s made of top grain nappa leather, the cost of this product is only $9.90. It has a lobster claw clasp to clip to your zipper, bag, suitcase, backpack, or whatever you want to use it on.

The next product I received is the Royce Leather iPhone Sleeve. Unfortunately I couldn’t really put this one to a true test because I don’t own an iPhone nor does anyone in my immediate family. What can I say, we’re an Android family. I can tell you that this product is again made of genuine leather. It has the leather panels on both the front and back. There is elastic on the narrower side that would make sliding your phone in and out of the case easier. This case is available on shoplet.com for only $11.84.

Both products are of high quality with sturdy stitching and that wonderful leather smell. They are both a fairly rigid product that seems like they could both take a beating for a while.

Immortal Voyage book review

I love a good fantasy book. If it’s a different than what I’ve read before I like it even more.

Immortal Voyage by C. G. Powell is a fantasy that touches on a lot of exciting aspects. From the facinating city, magical beings, romances (yes I pluralized that), and likeable characters. Some of these aren’t the way you know them but that’s what makes this book such an interesting read in my opinions.

A lord’s family changes. King Aldric makes a promise to his wife to allow their 5 daughters to marry for love, not betroth them. In keeping his promise (and some secrets) it causes issues for an heir to his thrown. With several son-in-laws who are not worthy to take the thrown the king is forced to break his promise. The youngest daughter, Jael, has spent most of her time with her father, learning how to run the kingdom. He betroth’s her to Prince Sarik Hy-Brasil. Jael finds out secrets that have been kept from her that change her life.

While the story focuses mainly around Jael you also read about the other sisters’ relationships. There are a number of twists in this book that I didn’t immediately expect. They do recommend this book for 17 and older because of some adult subject matter.

This book was an easy read. Not terribly long. The twists and developing relationships in the story kept me turning pages and returning to the book.

SuperFood Snacks – Raw Chocolate Energy Nuggets review and giveaway

So much to say about SuperFood Snacks it’s hard to figure out where to start. I guess I’ll start with the ethics and practices of this company. They are a sustainable Superfoods company based in Hawaii on the island of Kauai. They create organic snack foods with specialty ingredients and the use of superfoods. They use only high quality organic and fair trade ingredients. They make use of ancient techniques of 5 element food combinations. That’s just the snack itself.

They don’t stop there, the packaging also is thought out and green. It’s the very first ever NatureFlex TM non-gmo that is 100% biodegradable and compostable material! I love a company make the decision themselves to do the right thing for our Earth.

I had the opportunity to try their Raw Chocolate Sampler.

I received the following varieties:

–Green Chocolate Dream– which contains Goji, Chlorella, Cacao, Clear Agave, Sunflower Seeds, and more all in one little nugget

–Chocolate Goji Treats — which contains Goji, Cacao, Clear Agave, Coconut, Walnuts, and more

–Chocolate Cherry Qi– which contains Cherries, Cacao, Clear Agave, Pumpkin Seeds, and more

–Brazilian Chocolate Ecstasy — which contains Brazil Nuts, Cacao, Clear Agave, Mango, Chia, and more

All varieties are Gluten free too!

These treats are supposed to be energizing, replenishing, and rejevenation and can be used as a meal replacement. Each little portable packet contained 3 servings (one serving is 2 nuggets). These little pouches are small enough to throw in your purse, backpack, or hide in your desk at work.

I decided to stuff some in the diaper bag when my boys and I went to a race recently. I knew the food there would be expensive. This would be a good test of how filling they really are.

Ok so this is me chowing down on the Green Chocolate Dream, the first flavor I tried. This isn’t chocolate like in a regular candy bar. It’s raw organic chocolate. the nuggets kind of reminded me of an organic granola bar in the texture and feel of them.

All the nuggets have basically the same texture and consistency. You can taste the flavors in each kind. They’re actually pretty tasty, especially consider they’re a health food. My favorite flavor was probably the Chocolate Cherry Qi.

I ate 2 for breakfast this morning around 7:45 am. I’m not a big breakfast eater. But these were perfect for me. I honestly did not feel hungry all morning. Even at lunch time I wasn’t that hungry yet. I’m likin’ these little nuggets.
