One thing that my kids and I love to do together is baking. On a cold or rainy day we love to get the oven going and make up some cookies, cupcakes, or muffins. Anything that can make clean up easier or save us a few steps when we’re baking together is ok in my book. So when I had the chance to try the OvenArt Silicone Bakeware – Muffin Pan
I said yes!
I had never baked using a silicone muffin pan before. I have used other silicone bakeware in the past some worked great, others, not so much. If you’ve ever used or even handled silicone bakeware before, you know that it’s pretty floppy. Ovenart recommends placing the silicone muffin pan on a baking sheet which worked out well for us. We decided to try to make chocolate chip muffins to test this pan.
You don’t have to grease this muffin pan like you do other types of muffin pans. In fact, you don’t even have to use muffin/cupcake liners if you don’t want to. We didn’t, just to see how the muffins would turn out. After mixing up the batter we filled our muffin pan and they were ready to go in the oven. When we took them out I figured I’d have to let them cool for a while. I quickly realized though that silicone bakeware cools down a lot faster than metal or glass pans. They tell you that to remove your baked good from the pan you can push up from the bottom and pop them out. I’m sure that would work no problem. Honestly I just did this:
Every muffin just fell right out. There was no prying, popping, greasing, or scooping to get them out. There was minimal residue from the muffins left in the pan. I hand wash all my dishes anyway so I just threw this pan in some soapy water. I did have to do a little scrubbing to get some of the residue off but normally I have to soak my muffin pans to get all the gunk out of them. In the end we ended up with these tasty muffins:
You can find the Ovenart Bakeware silicone muffin pan on Amazon:
Ovenart uses only the highest grade 100% highest quality European silicone. No worries about chemicals or non-stick lining sneaking into your food! You can find even more products on their website as well: http://www.ovenartbakeware.com/
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I love these things! They make baking easy and clean up even easier!
I love that they didn’t stick at all and came right out. I’ve never baked using silicone, even though I have a silicone cake pan. I think I might have to actually use it! I hate when things stick and somehow whatever I bake always seems to stick in at least one spot.
