I’ve mentioned in posts in the past that I don’t have a lot of storage in my kitchen, especially for a family of 6. I have minimal counter space and only some cupboards. I’m always looking for ways to create more storage and hopefully do it in a cosmetically pleasing way. See I did have my knives in a drawer but when each kid became a toddler they were quite interested in pulling the utensils and things out of the drawer. My daughter is 2 1/2 and she still just can’t resist pulling things out of the drawers and cupboards. I got child safety latches on the cupboards but never found anything that really worked on the drawers. So my solution was to put all my knives, peelers, and any other sharp objects in a storage container and sit it on my counter. It didn’t look the greatest but at least it kept the knives out of little hands. Still, with not having much counter real estate, every inch counts.
