NuNaturals is a company I’ve worked with before.  It’s a great company that makes trying to eat healthier a little easier (and tastier too).  Also great for those that need to watch their sugar levels.

NuNaturals.com is a company right here in the US, Eugene Oregon to be exact.  They have been offering quality, all-natural products for 20 years.  They offer dietary supplements like Xylitol and Bilberry, a line of quality green tea, gourmet vanilla extracts including Fair Trade Plus Organic Vanilla Beans.   They also offer a variety of Stevia products with their flagship brand “NuStevia”.  

Aside from making great products they are also a member of the American Herbal Products Association, as well as the TruLabel program.  They’re product never contain aspartame, saccharin, sucralose, high-fructose corn syrup, sugar and artificial sweeteners or colors.  They have zero calories.

NuNaturals is adding to their already great line up of products with more naturally flavored liquid NuStevia products.  The newest additions to the family are

Liquid Lemon NuStevia Alcohol free

Liquid Orange NuStevia Alcohol Free

Liquid Peppermint NuStevia Alcohol Free

It was not hard to put these product to work right away.  One of the first things I did was to take the Lemon Liquid NuStevia and add a few drop to a glass of ice water.  The flavor was amazing.  I only added about 4 drops to my water but I could taste the lemon and hint of sweetness  The flavors of these products are very true.  It doesn’t take much to add flavor or sweetness to what you want.  The next thing I tried was to add a little of the Orange Liquid NuStevia to a cup of Green Tea.  This was also a wonderful flavor.

The orange flavor reminded me something of a fresh orange zest.  It even smelled like a real orange.  I was telling a few people at work about the new products When I mentioned the peppermint flavor my coworker said, “I bet that would be good in hot cocoa”.  I told her that I bet she was right.  Even though it’s August, the though of some creamy cocoa with peppermint NuStevia in it sounded fantastic.  I found an old french recipe I had for homemade Cocoa Au Lait and adapted it to use the NuStevia products I received.

I just made myself one cup to see how it would turn out and it wasn’t too bad at all.  For an individual cup, this is how I made it:

Cocoa Au Lait with NuStevia

Heat a 1/2 c of 2% milk over the stove in a small saucepan (or I used my butter warmer since it had a spout on it)
Once the milk is heated through add 1 heaping tablespoon of unsweetened baking cocoa and stir until well blended in the milk.
The recipe actually calls for a 1/2 cup of sugar and vanilla extract but instead I used about 6 drops of Vanilla Liquid NuStevia and about 3 drops of  Peppermint Liquid NuStevia.
I then topped it off with some fat free whipped topping and a little sprinkle of cinnamon

I don’t like anything too sweet so this ended up being just right for me.  If you like things sweeter you could always add a few more drops of the flavored NuStevia or use a non-flavored NuStevia product like the Clear liquid NuStevia or the NuStevia No Carb blend for example.

The liquids aren’t just for drinks though. Add them to your sauces.  I’m sure with the flavor and sweetness of the Orange it would be wonderful in an orange chicken sauce recipe.
