When I blog, it’s possible for me to be at my desk for an hour or two (with intermittent breaks when taking care of the kids of course). Some days I have more work to do than others on my blog. If hubby isn’t working I take advantage of the time and will make sure I get my posts in. I’ve noticed though that when I sit at my desk for an hour or more my lower back starts to hurt. I get up and stretch and sometimes the little ones need me so I welcome the break to get up and more around. Still I wish I could make my chair a little more comfortable. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, I know how import proper body mechanics, alignment, and back support can be while you work.
Patrick Lee is Human Spinal Biomechanics Researcher (that’s a mouthful) and he is the found of an international company that manufacturers medical devices. He is also the inventer of the Qi Orthopedic Pillow.
QiPillows are attractive pillows that help support your back in sitting position. You can use them in the car, at your desk, or wherever you might need some extra support for your back. They are comfortable and adjustable so you can adjust them to your comfort level. They come in two stylish colors: sage and camel. You can put them on your couch or your bed and they look great. Just eyeballing them, no one would even know they are an orthopedic support pillow.
I received one in the color sage. It comes with a small instruction leaflet so you know how to adjust your pillow. The cover is a soft micro-suede and it really is soft. There is a bladder of sorts inside the pillow. There is an easy to open valve that you blow air into to adjust it to your needs. The cover just zips open to get to this valve.
The instructions say you only need 2 or 3 puffs and you’re not supposed to fill it up the whole way. Well either my puffs are pathetic or I need more support. I ended up using about 5 puffs to get it to where I felt it did me any good. But that’s the beauty of these pillows, you can adjust them for you.
The QiPillow supports your weight for as long as you sit. It doesn’t collapse with pressure. It responds to your body with any movement. In a 3rd party clinical study, QiPillows have been found to help 91% of back pain sufferers which I thought was pretty impressive.
QiPillows are 18″ by 18″ and work great as throw pillows when not in use too.
Another feature I like is that if you want to take it with you, say you want to use it at work and at home, simply deflate the bladder, fold it up and take it with you. QiPillows have been featured on QVC with high reviews from customers. You can also find QiPillows on Amazon:
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I sit at a computer at least 8 hours a day for work and this would come in handy and it looks very modern.
