Recently I took my kids to a local festival in Somerset, PA called The Scarecrow festival.  There were a few independent consultants for companies as well as craft vendors at this event.  I was lucky enough to run into Ellie Hancock, a consultant for Boresha which offers Bskinny coffee and tea just to highlight a couple of their products.

I had heard about Bskinny tea and coffee being an avid blogger.  Ellie certainly knows her product.  Her and her husband both use the products.  Ellie told me she lost an amazing 14 lbs from drinking the NuvoGene Tea!  She said she didn’t do anything else but drink the tea.  Her husband drinks the coffee.  He also lost weight drinking the coffee.  An interesting tidbit, he said he used to get heart burn when he drank regular coffee.  Since he’s been drinking Bskinny coffee, he hasn’t had heartburn.

Ellie had samples of the NuvoGene tea and coffee available.  She made me up a little taster cup of the Bskinny coffee.  I’m definitely a coffee drinker.  I love coffee and creamer in mine and wondered how that would effect the weightloss aspect.  Boresha has the covered.  They also offer a Bsweet and a Bcreamy!

They have a 10 day challenge available on the site if you wanted to give it a go for yourself.  Ellie gave me a small sample pack to try that will last me a few days.  I’m going to start drinking it tomorrow.  I can already speak on the flavor.  The sample cup she gave me at the Scarecrow festival was smooth and yummy.  The creamer and sweetner tasted delicious.  It didn’t have that bad artificial sweetner taste.  To me, it tasted just like a regular cup of joe.

In the mean time you can read about the science behind Boresha products here on Ellie’s consultant site.

I have to admit I’m not a big fan of watching tv. There isn’t one show in particular that I just have to catch every episode. One show I do watch when I can is The Closer on TNT. I love a good cop drama. I also love the fact that the lead actress in the show is smart and strong willed. It’s nice to see that on tv. Do you have a favorite cop drama? Or do you like a totally different genre of tv shows?

Here’s a little info about this year’s season 6

<img src=’http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-f4QCdDOj56EYA.gif’ style=’display: none;’ border=’0′ height=’1′ width=’1′ alt=’Quantcast’ />

As the new season of THE CLOSER opens, the squad is moving into its new high-tech digs. But its not long before theyre wishing they could be back in their old space, where a plain white board nailed to the wall was more practical than the troublesome sliding screens in their new murder room. But true to form, Brenda is determined to bend the space to her style.

With the LAPD on the hunt for a new chief of police, Assistant Police Chief Will Pope (Simmons) is among those in the running. Should he get the job, it could mean a promotion for Brenda. The political juggling around the office soon leads Brenda to do some career-minded soul-searching. It also has her colleague, Robbery-Homicide Commander Taylor (Gossett), smelling a possible promotion for himself, even though he cant even seem to wrangle an office of his own in the new facility.

On the home front, Brendas husband, FBI Agent Fritz Howard (Tenney), has some career changes of his own in store. After turning down a promotion that would have sent him to Washington, D.C., hes now in line for a job that could not only keep him in LA, but give him and Brenda the chance to spend a lot more time together.

This season, Brenda and her squad will tackle cases involving a sniper shooting in a posh neighborhood, a possible serial rapist who uses a stun gun to immobilize his victims and a drug-related custody battle that ends in two deaths. Meanwhile, Detective Sanchez (Cruz) will struggle to care for a young boy involved in a case the squad investigated last year. And Lt. Provenza (Bailey), Brendas second-in-command, will once again find himself in a professionally embarrassing situation when a one-night stand with a flight attendant leads to the discovery of a dead body in her bathtub.

Also this season, Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) will reprise her role as Capt. Raydor, the by-the-book head of the Force Investigation Division, who has butted heads with Brenda on several occasions. This time, her presence could have major implications for Brendas future in the department. <img src=’http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-f4QCdDOj56EYA.gif’ style=’display: none;’ border=’0′ height=’1′ width=’1′ alt=’Quantcast’ />

It’s September 11 again. The stories of heroes, fellow American’s that were lost, children of those who perished, etc are all over the news. I think 9/11 affected so many people in so many different ways.

I think it’s important to remember how we came together as a nation that day. We prayed for those who were lost. We cheered for those who were found amongst the chaos. We were proud of our service people — firemen, police officers, EMS, etc that worked so to help. Many times putting themselves at risk to save another. The stories of the individual heroes inside the buildings and on the planes. Without all these people things could have been even worse.  Our brave men and women that fight for us daily in military positions still today.

I think most people can remember where they were and even what they were doing when they heard.

Me, I was engaged to be married at the time.  I had worked 3rd shift 9/10 into 9/11.  I came home at 7 in the morning to try to get some sleep to go back into work for the 2nd shift on 9/11.  I only had a few hours to get in some sleep.  I remember my phone just ringing off the hook.  I was so irritated.  I needed sleep why was everyone trying to call me.  Finally after about the 6th time the phone rang I answered.  It was my fiance that was at work.  He was calling to check on me and was telling me what was happening.  I was so out of it because I was so tired.  I wasn’t processing what he was telling me…or I didn’t want to believe what he was telling me.  I turned on the tv and right there it was .  The 2nd plane crashing into the tower.  I remember feeling absolutely sick.  I just kept saying Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god.  It was a sick feeling.  All the people! Why is this happening?!  What’s going to happen next?  Then I heard that flight 93 had crashed only 30 minutes from my house.  It was en route for the Pentagon.  How could this be happening?!

I stayed glued to the tv.  I didn’t even want to go into work that day.  I had a 40 minute drive to work. What if something else happened?  I made myself go to work that day but it was surreal.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget that day.  I still learn more every year with the stories.  This year I had heard about the man that had taken pictures of the people that jumped from the buildings.  Knowing there was no other way out they chose to jump. I can’t imagine having to make that decision.
