Aerobie AeroSpin World’s Most Advanced Yo-Yo review/giveway

I have done several reviews for Aerobie toys and I have yet to be disappointed with the quality and active fun involved with their toys.  This time I had the pleasure of reviewing the Aerobie AeroSpin “The World’s Most Advanced Yo-Yo”

Aerobie AeroSpin Yo-Yo

It’s been a long time since I’ve played with a yo-yo.  But the comfortable grip and adjustable gap made it easy to hold onto.  The adjustable gap is also great for those more advanced with a yo-yo to make it easier to perform tricks with the yo-yo.  It also come with a 36 page book of tricks so you can try to become a yo-yo master yourself.

It was very easy for me to use this yo-yo and be able to make it rebound even though I hadn’t used a yo-yo in years.  My boys had fun trying to do some of the tricks in the book.

The booklet gives you lots of helpful tips from beginner stuff like how to wind your yo-yo, how to adjust the gap, and even troubleshooting if your string gets tangled. It also gives more advanced directions like how to make your yo-yo “sleep” to perform tricks, easy to hard tricks, and hand positioning.  I took the yo-yo apart myself and was able to put the whole yo-yo back together again within a minute.  Another plus, Aerobie Aerospin is made in the USA.

You can check out all of Aerobies quality toys that encourage active play on their website: http://aerobie.com/products.htm   You can also found a list of retailers that sell Aerobie toys near you: http://aerobie.com/wheretobuy.htm  Just click on either USA or International for retailers.  Aerobie toys are available in more than 35 different countries!

The Aerobie AeroSpin yo-yo is very well made as all their product have been that I’ve tested so far.  They’re made to take a beating.

OrGreenic Ceramic Frying Pan Review and Giveaway

Like me you may have seen the TV commercials for the OrGreenic Frying Pan.  I had heard about the other types of non-stick pans containing PFOAs.  Now I wasn’t exactly sure what a PFOA was or why it wasn’t good.  I came across some info on the government’s EPA website found here: http://www.epa.gov/oppt/pfoa/pubs/faq.html

The gist of the whole thing is that PFOA are in some of the non-stick materials like Tefelon.  PFOAs have been found in both the environment and in the US population at low levels.  Studies in lab animals have shown developmental and other adverse effects.  You can read more about it and what they are doing about it on the government website post above.

OrGreenic does NOT contain PFOA.  It has a coating made from ceramic that is bonded to aluminum.  Aluminum heat evenly and doesn’t create “hot spots”.  The ceramic let’s you take your cookware right from the stove top straight into the oven if you like.  It also has a lifetime warranty.

There’s the OrGreenic 10″ frying pan I received to review.  There are instructions on the inside of the packaging telling you how to “season” your cookware before you use it.  I followed the directions to do this right off the bat.

Now it tells you that you can cook in the pan without using oil, butter, or grease.  I put it right to the test with trying to cook 2 eggs easy over.  Um….the non-stick thing didn’t work so well with the eggs.

I had a hard time pulling the egg up off the frying pan.  AS you can see, it actually stuck pretty good.  Again this is without any cooking spray, butter, or anything else. This was cooking the egg over medium heat.  It did work better using a little cooking spray.  I then tried to saute some chicken in the frying pan to make a stir fry and that worked out just fine.

This honestly isn’t a bad pan though for cooking if you don’t mind using a little oil or cooking spray.  The piece of mind of knowing there are no PFOAs in the pan is enough for me to keep it and use it again.  The pan is well made.  It’s not too light weight or too heavy.  The stay cool handle is also a plus.

You can find OrGreenic on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/OrgreenicCookware

Do you have Direct TV?

Have you ever talked to someone about tv service?  Maybe you were complaining about your bill, maybe you were discussing channels you get and don’t get with a neighbor, or whatever.  It seems like most of those conversations get into a debate about Direct TV, cable, or another dish service.  Everyone thinks their service is the best.  Unless you’ve actually switched to another service at one point, you may not have much to compare.  You just have to go by what people are telling you.

There are 2 major things I always look at.  I look at price and the value for the price. In other words how can I get the most amount of channels, with a reliable service, without breaking the bank.  Of course I’m not about to start skimping on groceries just so my hubby can have the NFL network.  Priorities are priorities.
I had the opportunity do this post for Direct TV.  I took it.  Why?  I thought it would make me learn a little more myself.
When you visit DirectTV’s website, http://www.dx3.net/, the first thing you’ll notice is the deal they have going, they call it “The Big Deal”.  You can lock in two years of savings for $29.99 a month with rebates.  But my question is, “What do I get for that $29.99?”  To start you get 4 premium movie channels include for 3 months.  Then you get a free HD DVR and up to 3 HD receivers. If you want more you have to pay extra.  I don’t know about you but I don’t have more than 4 tvs in my house.  HD Channels are included and DirectTV on demand.  So far, doesn’t sound to bad.
Just a note though, there’s a little green banner in the corner that says NFL Sunday Ticket included but in the itsy bitsy fine print it says for Choice Xtra packages and above.  So don’t get too excited there football fans.
Also I think when considering switching for financial purposes that there may also be handling & deliverying fees, as well as taxes in some areas so keep that in mind.
Direct TV or I guess as the kids are calling it these days, dx3 Direct TV, includes 285 channels, 170 of which are actually HD channels.  That’s plenty for me. Unfortunately I’m having a hard time finding which channels are actually included in the packages.  There are certain channels that are a must in our house so I’d like to know if they’re included.

Do you have Direct TV?  If so, what do you think about it?
