A Disposable Diaper That’s Better for the Earth AND Dependable? Absolutely

I’ve always used disposable diapers but there was a small part of me that felt guilty.  Like maybe I should try cloth diapers.  Cloth diapers just seemed like a lot of work to me (I know there are many that will disagree and that’s ok).  They also just didn’t seem feasible for overnight trips and vacations.  Bambo Nature diapers is a nice option for me.

Bambo Nature diapers are premium diapers.  They won the top pick award for best green diapers.  It was also the highest scoring diaper over all of the 20 diapers tested by BabyGearLabs.  Bambo Nature diapers are free of ALL harmful chemicals.  They are non-toxic and hypoallergenic.  
When I took the diaper out of the bag it was super thin.  I was concerned that it wouldn’t hold up.  The first time I tried one I put it on my daughter to go to our local high school’s football game.  I loved the way it fit her.  It seemed comfortable for her.  It really was absorbent and we experienced no leaks.  Here’s my little happy model with the Bambo Nature diaper on.  They were super helpful in helping me find the right size and I’m glad they talked to me to make sure I got the right size.  In other brands of disposable diapers she was just barely fitting in a size 1 diaper and I was about to transition her to a size 2.  After talking with them I realized the diapers sizes are not set up quite the same as other diaper brands.  He recommended a 3. The size 3’s start at 13 lbs and go to 31 lbs.  She just had her appt. last week and she was 13.9 lbs.  I’m really glad I went with the size three, I think the 2’s would have barely fit.  So that’s one thing to keep in mind when buying them, be sure to read the sizing description because they’re not the same as most diaper brands.  
I really like these diapers.  They go from newborn to size 6 which fits up to 66 lbs.   I really like their new design too. They fit under clothes very well.
I wore them on her again today for our trip to Living Treasure Animal Park in Donegal, PA
Teehee, I love this picture.  The little goat came over to the stroller and was curious.  It started to nibble on the stroller a little bit.

Dreamworks Animations Turbo in Theaters and Soundtrack Available now

If you have kids then you’ve probably heard of Dreamworks Animation’s TURBO movie that’s in theaters now. Turbo opened July 17, A cute underdog movie that has a very cool all star cast which includes names like Ryan Reynolds, Snoop Dogg, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Samuel L. Jackson.  I know this movie is on my boys’ “I wanna see” list.

Here is a brief synopsis of the movie:

“TURBO is a high-velocity 3D comedy about a snail who dares to dream big – and fast.  After a freak accident infuses him with the power of super-speed, Turbo kicks into overdrive and embarks on an extraordinary journey to achieve the seemingly impossible: competing in the world’s fastest race, the Indianapolis 500.  With the help of his tricked-out streetwise snail crew, this ultimate underdog puts his heart and shell on the line to prove that no dream is too big, and no dreamer too small. The soundtrack for Turbo was executive produced by Relativity Music Group’s Jason Markey as well as Bob Bowen and Ryan Kavanaugh.”

My Memories Suite Software Is For More Than Just Scrapbooking

I’ll be honest, I’ve see posts about the MyMemories Suite digital scrapbooking software and never really paid attention much just because I’m not really a scrapbooker.  I have scrapbooks for the kids but the more kids that came along the less time I had to work on them.  Plus the fact that I liked to kind of plan out and lay out designs and work on them.  I had a desk I worked on but the kids, especially when they were little were always curious and would take things off of it or try to grab things they shouldn’t so I sort of gave up.

What I found out though is that My Memories Suite can also help you create fun things like signs, cards, photo books, and whatever else your creative mind can think of.

To test out this idea I gave it a go with a back to school themed project.  I made little notecards that I can stick in my boys’ back packs or lunches.

This was my first test project.  I just kind of threw it together with a back to school theme just to play around with it.  But for someone like me who has never used a scrapbooking software before, I found it really easy to navigate.  I used a notepad background on the paper, I was able to insert a picture, and used school themed embellishments.  This size would also be good to use as gift bag/gift package tags (think Christmas and birthdays).  I also made a full size card just to see what I could do with that.

With this one I played around a little more with the embellishments, word art, and sizing. Any item you choose to use in your project can be resized so it’s just right for your project.  You could also use this software to make up your own invitations if you’d like.  It would be easy, just make up one then print as many as you want/need.

It comes with a nice selection of embellishments, word art, backgrounds, layouts, and more but you can buy even more to add to your selection from the site if you wish for very reasonable prices.  There were even a couple free packets I downloaded to my software.
