William Becker is a young horror author with a mind for weirder sides of the universe. With an emphasis on complex and layered storylines that tug harshly on the reader to search for deeper meanings in the vein of Silent Hill and David Lynch, Becker is a force to be reckoned within the horror world. His works are constantly unfathomable, throwing terror into places never before seen, while also providing compelling storylines that transcend the predictable jumpscares of the popular modern horror. His first novel, WEEPING OF THE CAVERNS, was written when he was 14. After eight months of writing, editing, and revising, the story arrived soon after his 15th birthday. During the writing sessions for his debut novel, he also wrote an ultra-controversial short story known as THE WHITE SHADE that focused on the horrors of a shooting. Living in a modern climate, it was impossible for THE WHITE SHADE to see the light of day. Following a psychedelic stint that consisted of bingeing David Lynch movies, weird art, and considering the depth of the allegory of the cave wall, he returned to writing with a second story, THE BLACK BOX, and soon after, his second novel, GREY SKIES.

When a reluctant Dwarven adventurer undertakes a quest on behalf of his blind father, he accidentally awakens an ancient evil banished ages ago. Now, with dark elves and goblinoid trogs snapping at his heels, Hy’Targ must prevent a powerful lich from reuniting with the ancient bones of his lover. Failure means a new age of darkness will spread across the land. Prince Hy’Targ of the Irontooth vagha would much rather stay in the library and read about the exploits of others. In his studies, however, he uncovers the tale of a powerful artifact he believes could restore his father’s sight. On his quest, he accidentally triggers a trap that releases an ancient undead general that was long ago sealed away to prevent him from beginning a planet-wide uprising of the dead. Hy’Targ knows that this fiend must be destroyed before he can regain his full strength, and he knows where the lich has escaped to. Journeying towards the creature’s dark tower, he enlists the help of the few souls who believe him, one of whom is an imprisoned thief that must first be freed… a thief who is linked to their problems more closely than they realize. Rise and Fall of the Obsidian Grotto The Esfah Sagas Prequel

Elves. Dwarves. Blood Oaths & Dragons. There are far worse things crawling upon Esfah than goblins… …some, even swords and sorcery cannot defeat. A devious elder monster allies with the lava elves of the Obsidian Grotto. She promises to provide an elven general with arcane weapons to throw down their dwarven enemies, and also the support of a black magic wielding cult hidden within the Nhur-Gale Forest. General Shedakor assumes that any bargain with such a dark creature would extract a high cost… but can he afford to pay it? Meanwhile, on the far side of Esfah. An elven hero from the northern coasts embarks on a mission to protect his home from the goblins of Brackishomme swamp. But Davian Whisperwynd is prone to rash vows and the gods will not release the adventurer from a promise to lay down his sword: an oath that complicates things when he promises a beautiful enchanter that he will retrieve an item from the lair of the Death god himself. Neither knows it, but the gods of fate have interlinked their destinies. In the mid 1990s there was one fantasy RPG that ruled them all: D&D, of which Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and many other books and gaming worlds were a part of. It’s publisher, TSR, created another gaming world that won Game of the Year in 1995. That world was Esfah. In eons past, when time was young and creation malleable, the four powers of Nature — earth, air, fire, and water — the children of Nature, gods in their own rights, brought forth two races of beings to care for their fledgling world of Esfah, created by the all-father, Tarvenehl. One race, the Selumari or coral elves, was created to husband the fluid forces of air and water. The other race, the Vagha, a dwarvish race, embodied the stability of earth and the tempering power of fire. Together, these two peoples worked to nurture their infant world into something glorious and beautiful… but then another god revealed himself: Death… **Only .99 cents!** Add to GoodreadsAmazon * Kobo

Z. Moss lives in Stillwater, Minnesota and is currently working on the sequel to Skyclyffe. Two dogs, three cats, and two turtles run the household, including the real-life Radar. Website * Facebook * Twitter * Bookbub * Amazon * GoodreadsAbout the Narrator

Noah Kershisnik has been acting since before he could read. He spent his youth performing Shakespeare plays in a traveling children’s theater, and developed a passion for performance and storytelling. Fortunately he did eventually learn to read, and now spends his time narrating audiobooks as well as acting on camera and stage.

Rex shook on the inside like a mouse who’d realized he was about to become a snake’s lunch.
His mom disembarked first and smiled, encouraging him to follow her. Radar jumped down,
skidding on the concrete floor. Once Old Fart emerged, they stationed themselves in front of the
wing, Dan and Sue flanking Rex and the dog.
Now that Rex could see, three extraordinary things caught his attention: a massive machine
with a long articulating gun, robots zooming by … and a pirate.
Yes, a pirate stood with the others, dressed in black, including a swashbuckling coat and an
outrageous hat. His plumed tricorn was overshadowed only by a beard that radiated from his
chin, twisting into many points so it resembled a wild, upside-down crown. Either the young man
left a play still in his acting wardrobe or had special needs, so the older adults let him walk
around in his ridiculous getup.
The sea rover cleared his throat.
“Welcome aboard, Bert, Susan, Daniel, and Ann—” He halted then looked to the person on his
left. She whispered something into his ear. “Holy catfish! Why wasn’t I informed?” The woman
bowed her head as she muttered more words. “Oh, I see. Well, nothing we can do now.” He
turned back to the Brights and raised his arm in a flourish. “I am Captain Vance Merriweather.”
Could this day get any stranger? How on Earth did the “captain” know who they were? Clues
pointed again to an elaborate reality TV show. Or Rex was at the farm or hadn’t left home, and
this was a Dr.-Pepper-and-supreme-pizza-with-jalapeños-induced dream.
Rex quit wrestling with the mental muddle. Be it hallucination or actuality, his brain and muscles
ached from permanent freak-out. Plus, if these events were occurring in the real world, his mom
would take care of things.
The result liberated him. Rex kicked back, excited to face whatever came next, even if it turned
out to be horrible monsters, tap-dancing buccaneers, or complete humiliation in front of a
laughing audience. Just don’t call him Bert.
A girl donning a cowboy hat, boots, and a T-shirt portraying a horse with a windswept mane
appeared then blended into the background. None of the adults noticed her.
Captain Vance Merriweather carried on with his salutation.
“Welcome to Skyclyffe! I give you a great, hearty greeting. I’m looking forward to getting to know
each of you—but, by living thunder, where are my manners? Let me make introductions.” He
patted a shoulder of the barrel-chested man on his right. “This is our sheriff, Cleve Bowman,
and Noble Berry, our chief Telerayist, is next to him. On my other side,” he turned and bowed to
the two ladies, “I have Philomena Ferguson, head of navigation, and Hazel Kiely, our principal
doctor.”
Hazel was the vaporizer-wielding incarnate of Rex’s old teacher.
“Well, there’s plenty to do and a young lady waiting to have dinner with me, so it’s no time to
lollygag. Daniel, if you please, remove the penknife from your pocket and entrust it to Cleve.” He
waited while the transaction took place. “Thank you. Our scans found no other security issues,
so everything else is shipshape. My crew will get you settled. It’s fantastic to meet you at last.”
The captain gave a wink, a curt bow, and left with a showy swing of feathered hat and swarthy
coat.

What a weirdo.
