I’m Professor Arianna Perez, and I’ve been asked if I’ll ever
trust,
let alone love, another man again.
After dumping an abusive boyfriend, I doubted I
would. At least, that’s how I felt until fate had sexy wrangler,
Kian Bishop, reappearing in my life in a way I never expected.
Against my better judgement, I fell hard for the cowboy,
believing everything
he said, including how he wanted to treat me like a queen and
keep me safe.
Little did I know, though, that the circumstances that’d brought us
together could also tear us apart…and possibly claim my life.

Hi everyone, my name is Casey, and I write under the names C.R. Moss for
erotic and mainstream romance and Casey Moss for mainstream dark
fiction (horror, suspense, urban fantasy) and sometimes the stories
have an erotic flare to them. My professional bio for C.R.: An
eccentric and eclectic writer, C.R. Moss pens stories for the
mainstream and erotic romance markets, giving readers a choice of
sweet, savory or spicy reads, usually within a sub-genre or two —
paranormal, sci-fi/fantasy, time travel, or western flare. The bio
for my other persona: Casey Moss delves into the darker aspects of
life in her writing, sometimes basing the stories on reality,
sometimes on myth. No matter the path, her stories will take you on a
journey from the light-hearted paranormal to dark things unspeakable.
What waits around the corner? Come explore…

PG-13 Excerpt
Kian sat back and rubbed his chin. “He’s still bothering you?”
Nodding, I continued to breathe deep to allay my anxiety. “Kind of.”
“He sounds like a jerk. If you were mine, I’d treat you like a queen. I’d do anything I
could to keep you safe and free from harm.”
“If I were yours?” God, how I wanted to believe that a man would do that. Be a true
gentleman, someone who would treat me right, someone I could trust not turn into a pig. Even if
Kian spoke the truth, there were other factors to consider. “You do remember there’s an age gap
between us, right? That I’m older than you?”
He lifted a shoulder again. “So? We’re both adults. Consenting adults. I hated that my
family moved, and I couldn’t see you anymore. That I only had you in my fantasies.”
“Wait. What?” This time I couldn’t hide the surprise on my face. “You fantasized about
me?”
“All the time.” He chuckled, and pink tinged his cheeks. “I thought you were the prettiest
woman I’d ever seen, and I was a hormonal teen. I wasn’t joking before when I said you’re
beautiful.”
Compliments. Wants. Desires. The claims coming from him made my breath catch on
such an intense wave of yearning it almost hurt.
Oh, Lord, what kind of spell is this man weaving over me?
“I appreciate the sentiment, but like I’d said, you could have your pick. Why would you
want an older lady with ten to twenty extra pounds on her frame?” Under my breath, I couldn’t
stop myself from adding, “Chad used to say no man wanted a chubby-wubby.”
Kian pursed his lips. “We’ve already established that Chad’s a tool. Me? I think you’re
perfect the way you are. You don’t need to lose a pound.” He smiled. His gaze softened. “God, I
really want to kiss you.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Before I knew it, he leaned across the table, gently palmed my cheek and placed his lips
on mine. Hungry desire flooded me. I couldn’t deny my body’s response or the fact that I was
seriously attracted to Kian. I wanted the kiss to deepen, but luckily, I had enough wits about me
to not go crazy with the public display of affection.
Then, as quick as it started, it ended. He sat back, taking any decisions I might have had
to make out of my hands.
“Thank you,” he said. “I’ve wanted to do that for ages.”
More heat blossomed in my face. I couldn’t believe how much I’d been blushing. His
attentions and presence made me feel like a silly, teenager in the throes of my first crush.

of the road. She just doesn’t realise how much things are about to

ties their families together and threatens to blow them apart.

Will they both survive?
Debbie Williams is married with 3 grown up kids,

a

beautiful daughter in law and an even more gorgeous grandson.

She is a Fibromyalgia
sufferer who found a new outlet by writing to help fill her days.
“WAIT! Please, I’m sorry. You just startled me and to be truthful you look kinda
scary in that hard man biker get up.” I couldn’t help but giggle at how ridiculous
I thought he looked with his biker boots and Jeans, but his voice sure sounded
good, even if it was muffled by that helmet. I looked again, and mmm mmm his
ass was tasty, especially with the tear in his jeans.
I watched as he lifted the hood to my car, never once removing his helmet.
Bad sign he must be really ugly underneath that helmet. My eyes were
constantly attached to that perfectly formed muscular ass. The way his hips
swayed as he worked. I swallowed deeply and told myself to behave.
Again, his muffled voice spoke, startling me back into the present. “Sorry lady
it’s your alternator, nothing I can do right now. We can call a garage in the
morning.”
In the morning damn now what am I going to do?
“Can you give me a ride? I mean do you have a spare helmet? I really don’t
want to stay out here alone all night.”
What the fuck am I doing? I don’t know this guy; he could be a murderer for
all I know.
My eyes were yet again drawn to his ass, as he walked over to his bike and
opened the box on the back. My heart was pounding as I saw him lift out
another
helmet, then turn to saunter over towards me. Handing me the helmet, he stood
and removed his own to help me put it on.
OH, MY GOD!!!! How wrong was I? He was GORGEOUS!!!!
His hand brushed my jaw line as he placed the helmet on my head. I took a
deep breath as a shiver ran down my spine. I glanced up into his eyes and was
met by the deepest blue I have ever seen in my life, his face framed by
shoulderlength
jet-black hair. Angular jaw and whoa look at that mouth, his lips so
perfect.
“There you go all ready, do you need to get anything from your car? I can get
you to the next service area where maybe we will find a motel for the night.”
I was trembling now as I had never been on the back of a bike before and had
never been so close to someone this damn hot. I straddled the rear seat and
hung
on for dear life, what if I fall off! “Settle Princess, don’t hold on quite so tight
and just lean with the bike as we go.” His voice broke through my internal panic
like molten chocolate.
I squealed and buried my head against his back; this was amazing, the wind in
my face felt so good. Again, my life felt right. MY LIFE!!!!!

She’s wrong. Her life is about to change—for the worse. First,
she receives a gift of the ugliest, most old fashioned bike she has
ever seen. Try as she might to ditch it in the city, she just can’t
seem to escape that very mysterious two-wheeler. Then come the
visions of a world across a dimensional divide, a princess in fear
for her life and a dark knight pursuing her. Are they just dreams or
something more? For Charlee, everything she ever thought she knew
about herself soon crumbles as she starts down a path to discover her
true self, and she will need that hunk-of-junk bike more than she

Guardian’s Return
The Last Princess of Latura Book 2
A month has passed since fourteen-year-old
Charlee Smelton discovered
her magical abilities and faced her great aunt, Theodora, in a life
or death struggle to protect Earth. A month has passed since she
tricked Theodora back across the dimensional gateway that brought
Theodora to Earth. Since then, Charlee—now fully aware that she is
part of a noble bloodline from another world…another dimension…has
grown stronger in her magic, aided by her protector, a shapeshifter
sent to Earth to protect her.
But the terrible dreams won’t stop.
Theodora lives, and if Charlee’s dreams of
death and fields of spilled blood
are true, her great aunt has avenged herself on that world across the
dimensional divide.
Charlee knows what she must do. The fight is
not over. She must travel across
the gateway to the home of her ancestors and face Theodora one more
time. But doing so may cost Charlee more than her life. The same
medallion her great aunt desires so much—a medallion Charlee
possesses—could make her just as evil as her great aunt.
Can Charlee stave off the twisted tendrils of
the medallion long enough
to defeat Theodora—for good—or will evil consume her? Can she
even survive so far from home? Her only hope may rest in the Lord of
the Dragons, but that beast turned his back on her grandfather long ago…

Darren Simon resides in Southern California where he works as a college

English teacher after a career as a newspaper journalist. His love
for writing began with a love for reading when his grandmother gave
him a wonderful gift—a brown paper bag filled with comic books from
the 1960s and ’70s. From there, he moved on to Choose Your Own
Adventure
books. Eventually he discovered the works of J.R.R.
Tolkien, which solidified his interest in writing epic fantasy and
science fiction tales.

So far, he has focused his writing on middle grade and young adult

fiction to inspire young readers just as he was inspired to read and
write at a young age.

He self-published his first novel though iUniverse and immediately went

on to write the second book in the series. Upon completing the second
book, he decided to seek more traditional publishing. After countless
rejection letters, a small independent publisher—Divertir
Publishing—decided to pick up the series, a fantasy about a
teen-aged girl who learns her family is actually from an alternate
dimension, and only she has the power to protect Earth from a
sorceress from her world—who just happens to be her great aunt.
Divertir republished the first book, titled, Guardian’s
Nightmare
, in 2015. The second book in the series, Guardian’s
Return
, was released in April.

Darren has also written another series—a young adult historical pirate

fantasy set in the golden age of piracy, mixing historical pirates
and pirate hunters with his fictional characters in a time-traveling,
swashbuckling tale. The first book in that series, The Dangerous
Legacy,
was published in 2016 by Tell-Tale Publishing. The second
book in the series, The Deadly Waters, is due out later this year.

All his books are available at Amazon.com and Barnes&noble.com.
Darren, who lives with his wife, Sandra and two sons, Daniel and Jacob, and
two crazy dogs, in the Valley, is continuing to write and develop new
stories, including a young adult novel now in the hands of literary agency.
From Guardian’s Nightmare
Theodora nodded. “As you wish.” The sorceress drew back her hand and slung Charlee and the bike
clear across the city.
They hurtled uncontrollably through the night. But this time, Theodora was not going to stop their fall.
The bike spun out of control, its wings flailing uselessly. It seemed…unconscious. Have to…wake
it…up…or we…die!
Charlee reached out for the bike. She had to snag a handlebar, a pedal, a wing—anything to make
contact. Come on! Reach. Reach! Reach!
The city rushed by beneath her. She flew by one rooftop, then another. She craned her neck to glance
ahead. Oh my God! A skyscraper stood directly in their path. They would smash into the glass exterior in
seconds.
Try…again! Reach for the bike! Reach! The fingers of her right hand touched the handlebars. Then she
got a full grip and pulled herself onto the banana seat, but the bike did not respond to her presence.
“Bike, wake up!” No response. “Bike, we’re going to die!” Nothing. She steadied herself. This time,
instead of shouting, she used thought to communicate.
She willed it to regain consciousness. Bike, please! Wake up!

The Quiche and the Dead
A Pie
Town Mystery Book 1
by Kirsten Weiss
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Is Val’s
breakfast pie the quiche of death?
Owning her own business seemed like pie in the sky to Valentine Harris
when
she moved to the coastal California town of San Nicholas, expecting
to start a new life with her fiancé. Five months—and a broken
engagement—later, at least her dream of opening a pie shop has
become a reality. But when one of her regulars keels over at the
counter while eating a quiche, Val feels like she’s living a nightmare.
After the police determine the customer was poisoned, business at Pie
Town
drops faster than a fallen crust. Convinced they’re both suspects,
Val’s flaky, seventy-something pie crust maker Charlene drags her
boss into some amateur sleuthing. At first Val dismisses Charlene’s
half-baked hypotheses, but before long the ladies uncover some shady
dealings hidden in fog-bound San Nicholas. Now Val must expose the
truth—before a crummy killer tries to shut her pie hole.

Bleeding Tarts
A Pie
Town Mystery Book 2
Val’s new
pies are foolproof—but not bulletproof.
Old West ghost towns are as American as apple pie. So what better place
to sponsor a pie-eating contest than the Bar X, a fake ghost town
available for exclusive private events on the edge of Silicon Valley.
Valentine Harris is providing the pies, hoping to boost business for
her struggling Pie Town shop and become a regular supplier for the Bar X.
But no sooner does she arrive in town than a stray bullet explodes the
cherry pie in her hands. And the delicious dessert is not the only
victim. Val finds the Bar X bartender shot dead in an alley. Egged on
by her flaky friend and pie crust specialist, Charlene, Val aims to
draw out the shooter. But solving a real murder in a fake ghost town
won’t be easy as pie. And if Val doesn’t watch her back, her pies
won’t be the only thing filled full of lead . . .

Kirsten Weiss worked overseas for nearly fourteen years, in the fringes of

the former USSR and in South-east Asia. Her experiences abroad
sparked an interest in the effects of mysticism and mythology, and
how both are woven into our daily lives.

Now based in San Mateo, CA, she writes genre-blending steampunk
suspense,
urban fantasy, and mystery, blending her experiences and imagination
to create a vivid world of magic and mayhem.
Kirsten has never met a dessert she didn’t like, and her guilty pleasures
are watching Ghost Whisperer re-runs and drinking red wine.

A blond in a smooth-fitting, green workout suit strode through the dining area. Her ponytail bobbed, her long,
lean dancer’s muscles moving smoothly, and I had to crane my neck to look up at her. On her jacket, Heidi’s
Health
and Fitness was emblazoned over her heart. She halted in front of the register.
Joe looked up from his bar stool, grinning, but his smile seemed a little pained.
“Hi.” Smiling, I laid a hand on the counter. “You must be from the new gym. I’m Val.”
“I’m looking for the owner.” The corners of her lips quirked, quick, professional, cool.
“That would be me. Welcome to the street. I was about to go to your grand opening.”
“I’m Heidi Gladstone.”
We shook hands, my knuckles grinding within her grip.
Dropping my hand to my side, I flexed my fingers, restoring the circulation. “Thanks for stopping by. I baked a
welcome gift for your grand opening,” I said, taking the quiche from beneath the counter.
“No thanks.” She shook her head. “I don’t do dairy.”
“I used almond milk.”
“Is there any cheese in it?”
“Only goat cheese.”
She reared away as if I’d suggested cyanide. “I don’t do dairy.”
Joe’s smile broadened.
I took a deep breath, inhaling the calming scents of baking fruits and sugar. “What can I do for you?”
“You can change your sign.” She pointed at the neon above me. “Turn your frown upside down? It
encourages
emotional eating. Sugar kills, and though it does give a quick emotional high, the satisfaction is fleeting. My
customers are trying to rebuild their health. It’s not good for them to constantly see that negative
reinforcement.”
I laughed. She was kidding. Of course. “Right. Good one!”
She frowned, a faint line appearing between her blond brows. “I’m quite serious.”
“But . . . it’s my slogan. It’s on everything—my sign outside, the menus, my business cards.” This had to be
a joke.
“Exactly,” she said. “It’s a problem. Do you have any sugar-free pies?”
“My potpies are sugar free. And so is this quiche.”
“I advocate a vegan diet. I couldn’t eat a potpie or a quiche. Do you sell any sugar-free fruit pies?”
“Um, no.” Sugar free? I’d heard of such things, and this was California, where people could be more
thoughtful
about eating. But a sugar-free pie? That was unnatural and possibly un-American. Besides, fruit was full of
natural
sugars.
“I’ll bring some recipes by tomorrow.” She whirled, her ponytail coming within inches of my face, and marched
out
of the store. The bell over the entrance tinkled in her wake.
Joe wedged himself free of the bar stool and waddled to the counter, arms extended. “I’ll take that breakfast
pie.
And a fork.”
Sighing, I handed him the quiche. “All right. You win.
Do you want a plate to go with that?”
“No. Why get a plate dirty? I’ll eat it from the tin.”
“How did you know she wouldn’t take it?”
Joe winked. “She kicked off her grand opening this morning with a lecture on the evils of gluten, lactose, and
anything that tastes good. I figured at least one of those things would be in that breakfast pie.”
I nodded. I had yet to meet a gluten-free piecrust that really sang.
He rubbed his stomach. “And the spread was awful, all twigs and health food.”
“It is a gym.”
Petronella stomped toward me in her black motorcycle boots, her brows lowered in a slash, a pie in each
hand.
“Are you working the counter today or am I?”
“You are. Sorry. You can have it back.” I edged away.
“Because I need this job, and if you’ve decided you can do it for me—”
“Nope, you’re still chief pie wrangler. Have at it.” While I wasn’t exactly afraid of Petronella, both she and
Charlene
were protective of their duties. And since Charlene made the best piecrust in five counties, and Petronella
could
soothe the most ferocious customer, I’d learned to stay out of their way.
There was a choking sound, and we both snapped our heads toward the counter.
Joe’s fork clattered to the linoleum. Bowed over the quiche, he gripped his stomach.

I froze, brows squishing together, coldness piercing my core. Then Petronella and I raced around the counter,
bumping into each other as we fought our way through the narrow passage beside the cash register.
Joe fell to the floor, writhing.
I fumbled in my apron pocket for my phone and called 9-1-1.
Petronella clasped one of Joe’s hands. “Joe! I’m here.
Val’s calling an ambulance. What’s happening?”
Joe went limp, his eyes rolling back. He didn’t answer.
