Back To School, Don’t Let Your Child Lose Their Things

**I received a Lovable Labels Back to School Pack at no cost as part of their Love Bug blogger program. No other compensation has been received. I do have the chance to earn free products when customers on their site use my unique coupon code.**

Every year we go back to school shopping around the beginning of August, so yea it’s rapidly approaching.  This year my youngest son will be starting preschool so that’s 3 kids starting school this year, which means three kids to buy school clothes and supplies for this year.  Inevitably at some point one of the boys end up forgetting their backpack on the bus or left their hoodie in the gym, or something along those lines.  Thanks to Lovable Labels when the bus driver finds that back pack or the gym teacher finds that hoodie it will find it’s way back to my kids.

Lovable Labels has back to school label packs to make sure you can label everything you buy for your kids for back to school.

Lovable Labels Back to School Packs include over 150 labels.
–30 Multi-Purpose Labels
–80 Slimline Labels
–12 Shoe Labels
–48 Press N’ Stick Clothing Dots
–12 Square Labels
–2 Mini Metal Tags

These labels are all safe for the dishwasher, microwave, washer, and dryer.  They are waterproof and UV resistant.  These are tough labels.  I’ve been using them for a couple years now.  Lovable Labels has a number of cute designs to choose from in their Back to School Packs including 8 new designs for this year.

I let my 4 yr old son choose the design he wanted to use to label his stuff to start pre-school this year.  He chose one of the new designs called “Ahoy Ye Matey” which of course is a pirate theme.  The clothing dots stick well on clothing tags or right on the fabric itself. I have used these in things like my boys jackets, gym clothes, and hoodies.  They fit securely on the fabric and don’t pop up and catch on things.

the shoe labels fit perfectly at the heel of the shoe so they are easy to spot when kids change shoes for gym class, if they take them off at daycare, etc.  My son has never complained about them being in his shoes.

The slimline labels can fit on just about anything and are a bit more discreet than the bigger labels.  These are great for labeling things like your kids toys when they take them in for show and tell, notebooks, folders, putting them on the inside of a book cover, and probably a hundred other places you could put them.

The Lovable Labels Back to School Packs are available for $44.95 but don’t forget to use my coupon code: AngieLB2 to get an additional 10% off any purchase on http://www.lovablelabels.ca

Come back the beginning of August when I will be giving away a Lovable Labels Back to School Pack to one lucky Luv Saving Money reader thanks to Lovable Labels.

Back To School: Thera°Pearl Contour Pack Review

**I received the below mentioned product for free in exchange for an honest review.  No other compensation has been received.**

It’s getting closer to the end of July and my boys have just started football practice. Two hour practices in the summer heat.  I don’t envy them.  I make sure they’re taking water with them and remind them to hydrate every chance they get.  Because they just started practicing they’re complaining about sore muscles.  I remember when I had started volleyball camp in the summer back in highschool how I’d feel the soreness in some of my muscles after the first few days.

Thera°Pearl offers has versatile hot/cold packs that can help you with all the aches and pains of getting back into the groove with school sports.  They have all shapes and sizes that can be used either hot or cold and fit just the right way for sore joints, shoulders, backs, necks, and more.

Initially I chose to review the Thera°Pearl Contour Pack because my husband started working out again and has been getting some pain in his elbow. The countour pack fits securely with an elastic strap the velcros. It ended up being great for a lot of things including my boys’ back to football practice aches.

Each pack has a plastic pillow filled with the “therapearls” that sort of remind me of those little orby things the kids play with.  Whatever it is though, it works.  For cold therapy just stick it in your freezer for 2 hours and apply.  For heat, simply microwave it for 25-35 seconds depending on the wattage of your microwave.  I myself tried it both ways.  Honestly, with how hot it’s been I was freezing it and using it to cool down.  I did try it hot though too and found that the heat stayed for about 20 minutes before it started to cool down.

My boys gave it a try too.

Here’s one of my guys wearing the Thera°Pearl cold. The strap makes it easy to adjust to fit any arm from my 9 yr old son in the pic to my hubby.
Thera°Pearl is also an officially licensed product of the NFLPA (National Football League Players Association).  My boys thought that was pretty cool, especially since they’re using it after their football practices now.
Thera°Pearl has a number of products including eye masks and breast packs for nursing mothers too which I thought was pretty cool.
You can find Thera°Pearl on these social networks as well:
Twitter: @TheraPearl

You can purchase TheraPearl products on their website: http://www.therapearl.com/order-online/

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Back to School Blast Giveaway 7/15-8/15 $1000 VISA gc!!

Welcome to the Back to School Blast!

Getting your family prepared to head back to school, can be difficult especially after a long, fun-filled summer. Here are a few of our favorite Back to School Tips to help you along the way.
1. Back-to-School Supplies Checklist – Backpack? Check. Pencils? Check. Safety scissors? Not Yet. Use the same checklist each time you head out to grab supplies, to keep track of what you have already purchased and the things you still need to. These are also handy if you have more than one child. Simply print 2, 3, 4 list and add their name to the top.

2. Be aware of back to school sales.  Around the end of July or very beginning of August Old Navy usually has their $10 jeans sale.  This is where I get my boys jeans for back to school.  Great price for good jeans.

3.  Walmart, as many know, has awesome prices on back to school supplies but did you know they are already started putting out some of their deals.  I was at Walmart today and they already had the 17 cent notebooks out.

4.  Famous Footwear also has their buy one get one half off sale so if you have more than one child (or one child and want a pair of shoes for yourself) this is great. Also around the end of July or beginning of August they put out the 20% off coupon too that you can add to this sale.  If you have a Famous Footwear rewards card you also earn points towards free dollar off rewards.

The Back to School Blast was organized by Mom Powered Media.
Please take a moment to also visit our lovely co-hosts, whom without them great things such as these would not be possible: My Vegan Gluten-Free Life, Plum Crazy About Coupons, Capri’s Coupons, Downshifting – Your Family, Your Home, Your Life, Jack of all trades, Master of Mom™, Quick Tattletails, Mew Review and Iowa Mom.

Safees Reflectors, great idea for Back to School: Review and Giveaway

I’ve read about how it’s a good idea to wear reflectors, reflective clothing, or at least light colored clothing when your outside, especially when it’s starting to get dark.  Dark clothing and non-reflective clothing can be very hard to see for drivers.  Here’s a scary statistic, did you know that over 2/3 of pedestrian fatalities occur  when it’s either dark or even dark with street lights on.

Did you also know that in Scandinavian countries they have the best traffic safety records in the world?! Every school child has to wear one and their traffic fatalities involving children are the lowest in the world according to WHO Global Status report on road safety.

A wonderful company called Safees is a great solution to this problem.  Safees are hard prism reflectors that can easily be attached with a clip to clothing, book bags, stroller, purses, jackets, costumes, etc.  They can be worn by both adults and children and come in lots of fun designs.  They meet CE and Lloyds certification and adhere to ISO standards.  They also meet very high EU standards of environmental consideration, in other words no waste is produced in the manufacturing and Safees are 100% recyclable.

Here is a short video on how Safees can protect you and your children at night

Safees make you 500% more visible to drivers at night.  When I opened my review samples, even without actually trying them out in the environment I could see that they were highly reflective with an irridecent shimmer to each one.  My oldest son volunteered to try them out for the review.  I first had him stand in the backyard roughly 10 feet away at first.  I attached one Safees to the back of his shirt and one Safees to the front.  Here is the first picture:

This Safees was the clear horse design.  I then had him go up about 30 feet into the yard and took a picture of the one on his back.

You can see that it’s hard to see my son in this picture but the blue snowflake Safee is bright and easy to spot.  I was impressed with how much it reflected and was visible even from 30 feet away.  There are many different colors and styles to fit just about anyone.

Safees website also has a helpful page with statistics and links to traffic awareness and traffic safety sites for tips on how to keep your children safe at night: http://www.safees.com/pages/stay-safe-heres-how

At a cost of only $6 each I think there would be a smart idea during your back to school purchases.  Clip one to your child’s backpack or jacket.  It won’t be long until we start losing daylight and only a few months until trick or treat.  Safees is also offering a coupon to save 15% off your order of Safees product with code: Safeesbacktoschool2012

You can also find Safee on twitter @Safeesreflector
