“He’s a hunter from Linos,” Mallory said as she stepped into the audience room. At one end of
the room, a long table stood with several chairs. Garlen and Faolan sat behind this table while
Pintra questioned the hunter.
“I’m here with the ambassador of Linos. This filth,” Braden pointed at Mallory.
“Attacked my men and me while we explored your city.”
“He’s a hunter,” Mallory said again. Leland held her hand. “He and the blond one next to
him, they’ve hunted me before.”
Pintra turned, saw Mallory’s pale face. “Were they,” Pintra stopped not wanting to ask.
The sour taste nearly overwhelmed her as she felt like she couldn’t breathe.
“Two of the six who raped me,” Mallory said quietly. Faolan pushed back his chair so
hard it fell over. “Don’t. Please, Faolan.”
“You expect,” Faolan said.
“It didn’t happen here,” Mallory said gripping his arm. “There’s nothing Garlen or any of
you can do about it. The others all wear hunter guild garb. I can only assume they’re hunters.”
She moved closer to Leland, ducking under his arm and welcoming the tingling as it soothed her.
“I demand,” Braden tried to stop Mallory from revealing more.
Pintra pushed him back. “You will be silent,” Pintra ordered. Signaling to the guards in
the room, she ordered, “Take them to the cells.”
“You can’t lock us up without hearing our side,” Shalon said. “We have rights.”
“Rights,” Garlen said stalking around the table towards the men. “Yes. You have rights.
However, you attacked a schoolyard full of children. You attacked a valued member of my
household. I’ll investigate and be in touch with the ambassador from Linos. In the meanwhile,
you will be held until further notice. Someone will take your statements and tend to your
wounded in the cells.” Garlen waved his hand at the squad holding the men. The squad jostled
and shoved the prisoners from the audience room.
“I’ll take their statement,” Faolan said hitting the table hard.
“I don’t think that will help,” Garlen said not sure he didn’t want to let Faolan lose on the
hunters. “Mallory, you’re certain?”
“They held me down,” Mallory said swallowing as the memories flooded her. “They took
turns as they… I … I won’t ever forget their faces.”
Leland scowled at Garlen while tenderly holding Mallory. His hands molded her body to
his as he kissed her temple. “There’s nothing you can do,” Mallory said. “It didn’t happen in this
province.”
“Tell me what happened,” Garlen asked gently. “Come sit here and be comfortable. Do
you need anything?”
Mallory moved to the chair he indicated. “I’m all right,” she said though her pale face
belied her words.
“Tell me what happened today,” Garlen asked specifying exactly what information he
wanted.
Mallory recounted the incident at the school. “They appeared out of nowhere,” she said.
“Is it possible they knew her schedule,” Faolan asked.
“It’s possible,” Pintra said. “While I trust our staff, it’s possible someone overheard the
children or one of the parents talking about the lessons.”
“While the Linos ambassador is here,” Garlen said to Mallory. “I think it best you take
guards with you.”
“Yes, sir,” Mallory said. “I’m sorry for this. I didn’t mean to cause trouble.”
“Mallory, you didn’t cause this,” Garlen said, squatting in front of her and taking her icy
hands in his. “The Linos ambassador isn’t happy you exist. While I try to negotiate to allow your
kind to immigrate here, he tries to negotiate for your return and for us to turn over all with magi
power to them. We’re at an impasse.”
“In other words,” Faolan said. “It’s not about you. It’s about their idiotic prejudices.”

Jean-Michel Désiré was born on the magnificent tropical island of Mauritius, where he completed his primary and secondary studies in compulsory bilingual French and English languages. An acute love of reading combined with a great interest in art (drawing and painting) pushed Jean-Michel from a young age to want to write his own comic books, but a lack of opportunity blocked his efforts. It was this same lack of opportunity of the time that triggered a need to perform further studies. At age 22, Jean-Michel left Mauritius for North London, England, where he completed a bachelor of Engineering in Electronics followed by a Master of Philosophy in Microelectronics. While concluding his Master’s degree, Jean-Michel met the lady who became his wife a year later, year during which they also moved to Montreal Canada where Jean-Michel had been offered an engineering position in the Aerospace industry. Life had its own agenda, and within the first eighteen months, their daughter was born in the middle of a snow storm in Montreal. Six years later, their son came into the world and the obvious demands of family life became the main priorities. During the winter of 2008, Jean-Michel slipped on the ice during a storm and fractured his ankle in multiple locations. Recovering at home after surgery, Jean-Michel decided that the time had come to revive his passion for writing. Within two years, his first book ‘The Storyteller’s Nights’ was published. The positive feedback from readers fueled Jean-Michel to exploit his bilingualism and he translated the story into French, ‘Les Nuits du Conteur’ being published in 2015. He then felt the wind in his sails and published ‘Fantasy Man’ in 2017, and recently, ‘Revanche (Revenge)’ (the follow-up to ‘Les Nuits du Conteur’) in 2019. ‘Fantasy Man’ is presently nominated for an award, top ten finalist to be announced on 22 August 2019. He has just completed the first draft to his next English book, entitled ‘The Miracle Ladies’, which he plans to send to the publisher within the next few months, after the essential rounds of self-editing. Engineer by day, writer by night, Jean-Michel plans to keep letting his imagination go wild while capturing it all on paper. Surrounded by a great family, he plans to write a whole lot more. When he is not writing, he spends quality time with his family and travels yearly back to Mauritius to visit his Mom and brothers. Facebook * Instagram * Amazon * Goodreads
I’ll be 40 years old in October. I can’t believe it. But I’m also realizing I need to be more active. The idea of going to the gym intimidates me. I have workouts at home but I’m usually distracted by my kids or things I know that need done around the house.
Penn State Extension is offering a program called LIFT. It is geared towards those over 40 that are inactive or only moderately active. Ideal for someone like me. I know I’d feel more comfortable in an exercise group knowing everyone is basically the same level as me.

I had heard about the benefits that elderberry could offer for the immune system a couple years ago. While on a trip to NC about 2 years ago I came across a little tent at a farmer’s market. They made their own elderberry syrup. The woman who makes and sells it was very enthusiastic and believed in her product. I bought a bottle to try. I ended up seeing first hand how the product helped. The kids were lining up eagerly to get their daily spoonful because they liked the taste so much. Unfortunately they didn’t their bottles to Pennsylvania. I tried to find a suitable alternative but everything fell short until I tried Sambucol Black Elderberry.
Sambucol Black Elderberry comes in a variety of forms too: Pastilles (lozenges), gummies, liquid, and dissolving tabs. They have an amazing taste that my kids look forward to. With the start of the school year, I’ve been making sure everyone gets their daily dose.
Tryazon gave me the opportunity to have a Sambucol Back to School Healthy Party. Of course, I wasn’t going to turn that down! My guests and I got to sample the products, learn about the products, and have a good time with it.
Back to School seems to be the time that our family always gets sick. But not this year. I’ve been fall cleaning and making sure my kids get their daily dose of Sambucol Black Elderberry. Sambucol isn’t just for back to school season though. It’s great for cold and flu season too. I like to take it when I’m feeling a little “bleh” like maybe I could be catching something. Or if we were around someone that was sick.
I handed out a bunch of coupons at my party but I still have a few left. If you’d like to try Sambucol for yourself, just comment below letting me know you’d like one and I’ll happily send out a $2 off coupon for you. They don’t expire until 6/30/2021
