Leine waited a moment, but no one came through the rear. She moved to the back door and
paused to listen. Not detecting anyone in the kitchen, Leine detached the wire connected to the
nails and eased the screen door open. She froze and listened. Nothing. She reconnected the end
of the filament wire to an anchor point inside the house and continued into the kitchen, 9mm

Once there, she stopped again and listened. The ceiling creaked above her.
