Alpha Hydrox is an anti-aging line using Alpha Hydroxy exfoliation. Exfoliation helps to remove the top layer of dead skin cells letting the healthy layer of cells through. Giving your skin a healthier, younger look. More abrasive exfoliants like scrubs and loofahs can break down the skin. A healthier option for the skin is Alpha Hydrox acids like those used in Alpha Hydrox products. Using a skin care product like Alpha Hydrox can also help remove the skin cells from pores to help reduce breakouts.
I remember hearing about Alpha Hydrox years ago. I had never tried a product with Alpha Hydroxy acids (AHA) in it before. I had an opportunity to try Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash and Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion.
The Foaming Face Wash is a light cleanser. It didn’t really have a scent to it that I could tell. The face wash come in a generous 6 fl oz bottle. It’s a liquid soap type of consistency. There’s no color too it. It’s sort of a translucent white. This face wash is meant to be used both morning and night. The directions say to squeeze a little into your hand, lather in your hand until it starts to foam, then massage onto face. It rinsed off easily. The box says it is meant for all skin types but it’s particularly beneficial for those with oily or problem-prone skin.
I really like this cleanser. I have area of concern for my skin. Even though I’m a 30 something, I still get frequent break outs in my T-zone. I also have some signs of aging starting on my skin that I like to try to work on and lesson the effects. I felt this was a good cleanser for my skin.
The 2nd product was the Enhanced Lotion with 10% Glycolic AHA Anti-Wrinkle.
This product states that it can significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It gently exfoliates dead skin cells. It also says it can renew moisture, refine texture, improve elasticity and skin tone. It contains moisturizes and Vitamin E. This product again is fragrance free and white in color. It has the consistency of a thin body lotion. This product can also be used both morning and evening. This bottle I received is 6 fl oz. I only needed a drop about the size of a nickel to cover my face.
My skin get particularly dry in the winter time. To the point of itching and discomfort at times if I forget to use a proper moisturizer. I did not feel this product’s moisturizing properties were enough for my dry skin. I also feel it fair to note that I had a pimple that was open on my skin. When I applied the lotion it did burn a bit when I initially massaged over that are with the lotion. My skin felt very tight after putting the lotion on. I felt it was more to not having enough moisturizer and my face being dry that a firming tightness. I ended up applying a separate moisturizer over top for comfort.
Alpha Hydrox products are very reasonably price and generous sizes.
