He eyed her forearm. “Come on, Boone, you can do this. Deep
breath.” A few words of self-encouragement later, he positioned one
hand just below her elbow and the other circling her wrist, ready to
repeat the corrective procedure. Attempting to coax two bones at once
back into their original positions would be a bit trickier but a
second tug straightened the parts of both, allowing them to reconnect
with their broken other half.
The screams she uttered sent stabbing pains through his chest. He
grabbed the bottle containing the liquid he’d prepared. “I’m sorry, so
sorry. Here. Drink this.” He parted her lips with the rim, allowing
her to take as much liquid as she wanted this time. He watched as her
tongue slipped out again to catch a droplet escaping from the corner
of her mouth. Her lips rolled together making a soft, smacking sound,
and drawing his attention to her mouth and the most beautiful lips he
had ever seen. Plump and pink. The urge to lean down and touch them
with his own nudged inside him.
He shook his head and scolded himself again. “Snap out of it,
Boone, you’ve got work to do.”
Sounds like an interesting series where the romantic sparks are flying and so is the magic!
