I will be receiving a healthy treat package to try for myself. Giveaway is sponsored by Puritan’s Pride.
Kids love sweets, there’s no way around it. Heck I love sweets but as parents we know that too much just isn’t good for a multitude of reasons. My kids actually have a dentist appoint the same day the trick or treat happens so I’ll get that happy reminder too. My kids honestly do love healthy treats but they don’t get a lot of that during trick or treat. They eat what they get . I try to limit them to one or two pieces a day but I know even that can get to be a bit much.
So here’s some ideas for healthier treat swaps:
–You want to hand out something sweet but don’t want to go the candy route. Try dried fruit like dried pineapple or organic sweetened banana chips
—pumpkin seeds are a favorite seasonal treat full of zinc and fiber
–For mom and dads craving chocolate, consider a chocolate protein shake
–Looking for something to warm up after a chilly night of trick or treating? How about a mug of spiced apple cider or organic peppermint tea with raw manuka honey
You can find all these treat swap items and many more at Puritan’s Pride. Use code TREAT10 to save 10% off valid until 11/30/15. Free shipping on orders over $19.95. You can automatically get the discount applied by using this link
