I’m 35. I’m not embarrassed by that, I’m not afraid to answer when someone asks. But as the years go on, when I look in the mirror I know my skin could use a little more TLC than maybe it used to. I hear about all kinds of amazing spa treatments but they are usually out of range for my budget. Doesn’t that look amazing? I’ll be honest when they asked me to review it, I didn’t know if I could. I didn’t figure it would be a budget friendly thing to tell my frugal audience about. I visited the site to check things out and was actually surprised that it was so affordable. Then seeing the price, I had to wonder if it would really work. I was about to find out.
The Nancy Reagan 24K gold collagen mask contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, Vitamins A & E, and gold/pearl powder. The gel mask is designed to provide one way absorption into the skin forcing the skin to absorb the plant collagen 10X better than a traditional mask. I had never used a mask quite like this. It comes with the face and neck mask. When you look at the packaging you can see a bit of liquid in with the mask. My assumption was it was strictly to keep the mask hydrated but when you read the directions, you actually need to use the liquid on your face and neck prior to applying the mask. It tells you to poor the liquid into a cup then apply to your face. Having never used this type of mask before, I lost a bit of the liquid when opening the package.
You have to ensure you have a block of time for about 30 minutes. The masks says you are to leave it in place for 20-30 minutes. You really can’t do anything else while it’s on. You have to lay down in order for it to stay in place. Of course, that helps enhance the home spa experience I think. I just had to find an ideal block of time for me to do this since I have 4 kids, one of which is 18 months old. I put my daughter and youngest son down for a nap and decided that was the ideal time.
The mask initially felt cold on my skin. It actually stayed cold on my skin for about 10 minutes. Once I had it positioned it felt really nice on my skin. I nearly fell asleep with it on my face. It had a nice, light fragrance to it. I tried getting a selfie here with the mask on. I looked at the picture and thought “oh my! I like I’m ready for halloween!” You might want to warn people before you do this to avoid a million questions lol I definitely did not look as glam as the chick in the promotional picture above. I’m not even entirely sure I had it on completely correct but it felt good anyway.
So by now you might be wondering if it actually worked. When I took it off my skin felt so hydrated. I decided to take a nap while I had the chance since my kids were still sleeping. When I woke up my skin still felt soft. I checked my skin out in the mirror and it had this nice healthy glow to it. I dare say it even quieted down some of the wrinkles between my eye brows and and my laugh lines. So even though I looked like a gold robot while I had this on, it did do a great job with my skin and was very relaxing.
