Delicious, Affordable, Hand Made Chocolate Bark from Arno’s Chocolates

I’d never had the pleasure of trying Arno’s chocolate bark until this review.  Arno’s chocolate bark is made right here in the USA.  Every batch is handmade.  They only use premium ingredients with natural ingredients whenever possible.  One thing I learned in working with them is that they use Guitard chocolate which is one of  the oldest family owned chocolate company in the country. 

The process in which they make their chocolate bark is fantastic.  They make it in small batches and break it and even package it by hand!  With the care they put into the chocolate bark and how selective they are with their ingredients, one would expect it to be very expensive but it’s not.  It’s only $2.95 for a 2 oz bar of chocolate bark.  These are not skimpy little bars either.  

Here’s a fun piece of info that Cyndi Arno shared with me.  The CEO of Twitter wanted peppermint bark stocked in their lunch room in December.  So they found Arno’s Chocolates.  Since then they have stocked different flavors in their lunch room each month. 

Arno’s Chocolates initially started with just a handful of different flavors.  They now have 12 different flavors of chocolate bark.  My family and I had the pleasure of sampling 7 of the flavors.  It was a lot of fun for us.  Everyone was excited to try each flavor.  We had sort of, a sampling session.  We chose one bar at a time and broke of pieces so we each got to try every flavor.  

I wanted to show you, this is my piece I broke off to try for myself.  It’s the peppermint bark.  It is dark chocolate with a layer of white chocolate with crushed peppermint on the top.  Normally I like chocolate and peppermint things alright but it’s not usually the first flavor I grab.  My 9 yr old wanted to try this one first so we did.  I have to say I LOVED this flavor.  The flavors just meshed so well.  It melted in your mouth.  The flavor very much reminded me of an Andes candy only better because it had the crushed peppermint for texture.

They were all so tasty. Each made with dark chocolate. I also wanted to take a minute to point out the lhara’s Trail flavor.  This one, in my opinion, was the most unique. It was also something that took you by surprise when you tried it.  It had a number of spices in it, that I would not expect in a chocolate bar.  My initial thought was it sort of tasted like chocolate covered pizza.  I know it sounds weird but it had a blend of spices that gave it a sort of salty, spicy, Italian type flavor.  It’s their newest flavor and includes: Dark Chocolate, a hint of orange oil, roasted almonds, walnuts, and pistachios as well as the spice blend I was telling you about.  This flavor was created for Twitter.  They had a contest amongst their employees to come up with a flavor and lhara’s Trail was the winning idea.
